Potty Train Your Child by NOON...and Have FUN Doing It!

We do still have to remind her to go before we go on a road trip or when she wakes up. My LO IS 22 months old and we have been potty training for a little over a week now and the first day was rough but now she only pees on the potty. Just working on going poop on the potty now. I think she is doing a great job and we have even taken her to church and grocery shopping without accidents.

I'm so proud of her. My daughter was day trained at 22 months. I did the naked training. No bottoms the first 2 days and undies the third day and she's been trained ever since.

When did you start potty training?

People laughed at me doing naked training but it literally took 3 days and on her fifth day we had an all day wedding and still no accidents! My due date is tomorrow and my son is 2yrs 5 months. I did not even consider it because I do t want to be dealing with a regression while establishing newborn routine. But with that said my son really is not showing signs of being ready. I started occasionally putting my son on the potty when he was probably about 20 months just to get him used to the toilet. We needed up moving to a different state so I didn't work on it for a couple of months.

Once he turned two I started trying different methods. We had to try a couple of different things for it to work but by 27 months he was completely trained except for at night time. That came about a month later. My daughter was around 18 months when she started using the floor potty on her own. That's also around the same time she started saying "pee" and "poo". It took a minute to teach her to pull her pants down before sitting down to pee and a little bit longer to go accident free in the car piddle pad was a life saver.

I was actually the one who had to break up with the diaper, at least for pee, because I felt it was too early but she was ready and led the way completely. She does refuse to poo in the toilet so we keep diapers on hand for that too. We skipped pull ups completely.

I say if your daughter is communicating about her pee and poo then it's a start. I remember my daughter letting us know she was peeing in her diaper at 16 months. I have a son now too so I wonder how that will be but I'll most likely follow his lead as well. I wish we could have had my daughter trained before my newborn came!

The Potty Book for Boys

We actually tried about 3 weeks after. It was way too hard unless you always have someone with you. She would need to go while I was breastfeeding and I couldn't stop really quick to take her. We tried the 3 day and failed miserably! It takes a special type of person and with a 3 week old I was not that type! I actually was really hard on myself and got down about it since she is already almost 2.

I know it will happen eventually Remember not to be negative! I would get so frustrated that it would show to her and I think the whole experience just turned her off! First of all, Congrats on baby 2 coming in February! I am a mom of two very different little boys. My expectations with my first child regarding milestones was always very targeted and stressful, because I thought he had to be doing things at a certain age.

I think you are doing a great job, and the fact that you are concerned shows you are trying to stay on track. Please don't forget to give yourself some slack. Not all kids will reach milestones at the same time or even same ball park! My eldest was 4. And now my 26 month old is showing interest and asking to go potty with zero pressure from me! This may be a useful link for you. I think it hits on some good points and may ease your mind a bit!

You are doing great! My son potty trained just after turning 2 so maybe 2 and one month. He was trained in a few days but he still would have sometimes accidents for a few weeks after. He would wear a diaper at night and nap but he never went so we eventually ditched it and he was fine and never had a sleep accident. He just turned 4 and it's been great. No regressions when baby brother was born or anything. He didn't have any signs really. He's just very smart and articulate so he understood. Read "oh crap potty training".

Wacky Toddler Behavior: Taking Off Clothes

We've been reading it for a few days in the bathroom now. Not my favorite, but not obnoxious--so that's a plus. SS has been OK with it. Mar 25, Mama Bibliosoph rated it did not like it Shelves: Many of the low-star reviewers on Amazon were frustrated with the plot Henry potty trains himself and how the book fails to teach potty training mechanics to kids. Also, the title is randomly gendered. There isn't a lick of sense in it being "for boys. I think the book's simple aim is to motivate kids to be more independent.

And the set-up for this is Henry listing all the things he can do by himself: My twins have autism and can't really do any of these things independently. As a result, the night I sat down to read this to them, I choked up, and quickly ad libbed my way through these pages. I'm sure the author and publisher would say that they didn't mean for kids with autism or other delays to feel badly about themselves and the book wasn't written for them--but I really think that books should find ways to work for a diversity of kids.

Besides, I can only review this book from my perspective, and from where I'm sitting, it's full of assumptions. Apr 15, Tami rated it really liked it.

How to Stop Your Toddler From Taking Clothes Off

That, the next step is potty training. This book has a kind of light sing songy feel to it. However, this book did fix one issue we had been having. The first potty book we read had a little girl sitting on the potty with her clothes on. My little one assumed that you needed pants on to use the potty. This created a great deal of confusion and anxiety. The Potty Book for Boys also shows the boy sitting on the potty with his clothes on but then shows him taking off his pants to actually use the potty. Its got the rhythm, its got the ryhme, it covers the potty training expirience from start to finish. The little boy in the story, Henry, starts by introducing himself and telling you about the big boy things that he can do like getting dressed, brushing teeth, etc. Henry gets a suprise He gives a little insight My diaper's where I pee and poop, morning, noon, and night. Then one morning Henry wakes up and it just feels right Henry gets to pick out new underware, and lets you in on the secret, you can potty train too!

It's exactly the same, except the names of the little kid and the pronouns. The illustrations are also exactly the same, just one is a boy and one a girl. I have no complaints. It's catchy and my kids like it. I'm sure I'll be reading boy version a lot over the next year or so. Feb 01, Dylan Reisz rated it it was amazing. Also, I learned to laugh and clap when there's pee pee in the potty and accidents are ok. I know all the things that Henry likes to do, oh yes, I really do!
