Loves Home Run (Jack & O Book 1)

Trick just happens to have a room available. Let her have SOME sort of trouble that doesn't immediately fix itself. This book is just bleh. I'm not sure why it has so many 4 and 5 star reviews, so clearly I am in the minority. I don't recommend this book unless you're into cheesy, perfect romances.

It had a really good storyline and wasn't all about sex, though I do especially love to read those books. This did have sexy scenes in it, but I love it didn't detract from the story, but enhanced it.

It was about two people who meet, become friends and then call in love. I liked that he didn't even know what she looked like because of the injury to her f Found a new author!!! Dec 11, Three Chicks rated it really liked it. Review by Lisa Kane Oh, I do love a sports romance! Caden Kessler plays for the New York Nighthawks. That combo puts him on the radar of just about every obsessed cleat groupie. He had a close call once and that has made him gun shy ever since. But when he sees commotion in the stands where the ball flew, he knows somebody may have gotten hit with that ball. He finds out that the fan was Murphy Cavanaugh and the injury was severe enough to an ambulance to make a run to the hospital. He gets together some baseball swag and goes for a visit. Murphy has just landed her first big modeling job. Her boyfriend and her roommate insisted on going to a game to celebrate.

He feels a ton of guilt. He also found out some info by accident and that also adds to his guilt. The more he gets to know her, the more he likes her. Just as friends you understand. He has a three-date rule. Catching Caden was a fun read. I love a dual POV and Caden is a keeper. What you see is what you get with this guy. Dec 01, Susan rated it it was amazing.

This was such a wonderful read. Samantha Christy knows how to write guys that are super swoon-worthy! Caden Kessler falls into that category for sure!! Caden is the starting catcher for the NY Nighthawks. In the middle of a game, he hits a homerun that ends up hitting a fan in the stadium. Feeling guilty, he tracks this person down and visits her at the hospital.

They start off as friends, but their chemistry is undeniable, and leads to more. The writing was done well, and the pace was perfect. B This was such a wonderful read. But I think what I loved the most were the characters in this book. Caden was a dream, and Murphy was down to Earth, despite thinking that she wouldn't be. I also loved catching up with characters from Samantha Christy's other books.

This new series is certainly off to a good start! And I can't wait to get more from Brady! Nov 16, Joelle Yates rated it it was amazing. Caden and Murphy will make you laugh, cry, feel their love for baseball you'll never watch baseball the same again , and believe that love can conquer all!

But man, Samantha Christy hits this one out of the park pun intended. I had several recommendations from Kindle to read her books, just never got around to doing so. Be it that she was a model and her face was going to be messed up.

But she turned out down to Earth. And I loved Caden. Now, I know JV is a pitcher but it always helps to have a guideline for these characters.

Catching Caden

It included so much more. Jan 10, Diary Of Book Fiend rated it really liked it. I really enjoyed this book. How the two main characters meet was very unique and it made the story that much more special. It was a slow burn, but you could easily see how much they cared for one another from the beginning. I am glad that they were friends first, because it made the story that much more beautiful and unique. They didn't just jump into something. I have read several of this author's books, The Mitchell Sister Series, which I was glad we got a glimpse of them in this book, makes m I really enjoyed this book.

Mad that you had me ugly crying in this book. The love story between Caden and Murphy was really really good! I knew since his ball hit her that he was a sweetie and she was tougher than expected! Dec 28, Ariel rated it liked it. This was a pretty cute book. I was really into it at first, but at the halfway point, it started to get really boring so I skimmed the rest. Jul 31, Lavender rated it really liked it Shelves: Professional baseball player and full time hottie. A real celebrity on and off the field. When he's not hitting balls out of the park, he's dodging clingy fans and camera lights.

Caden is an all around good guy—a considerate and loyal friend, he's the take-care-of-you-kind of guy, a man of his word, and the protector of all things vulnerable. He loves his sister and he's the best Uncle. But baseball is the only healthy, long-lasting relationship Caden Kessler has had, like ever. Baseball groupies claw to get in between his sheets. But good luck getting into that man's apartment. Caden has a Three Strike Rule to protect himself from commitment. Caden Kessler always has one foot out the door. He's a young man in the middle of an existential crisis.

Catching Caden (The Perfect Game #1) by Samantha Christy

Fifty-thousand-plus eyeballs on him as he hits yet another home run. Right directly into Murphy Cavenaugh's face. Breaking her perfect exterior bringing all those shallow insecurities to the surface. Not going to lie. After those first couple of Chapters. Murphy Cavenaugh—a blonde bombshell with legs that go on for miles despite her old man name.

A sugary-sweet Iowa girl in the Big City. With no true friends all Murphy has is a suitcase on rollers full of big Sex in the City dreams and no real direction. I admire the girl's spirit. She's sweet n' witty, and a tad naive.

Play Ball! Sports Books That Will Hit a Home Run

I'm fairly certain lived under a rock in Iowa. She's uber-considerate of everyone, everything, and always says the right thing at the right time. And everyone loves her. Minus her mean girl roommates and that pesky cheating boyfriend that shall go unnamed. Murphy is basically perfect Until she catches Caden's ball with her face. And kisses the modeling career she never really wanted, bye-bye. Caden feels like shit, and wants to make it up to her. Murphy doesn't know shit about baseball, and isn't swoonin' over Caden's social status or the gazillions in his bank account.

Caden finds Murphy's lack of interest in him comforting, not a challenge. The back and forth banter between these two made me laugh out loud. A realistic friendship forms. They talk about shit that matters. They learn to trust each other. To rely on one another. They laugh, they tease, turns out Murphy is the best wingman. Until the green-eyed monster. And then one day there is a feeling. There isn't any earth shattering quake or fireworks. It's a subtle everyday moment that knocks them both off-kilter—that maybe, just maybe, they could be so much more than best friends.

But the best friends that talk about everything Suddenly find themselves speechless. Murphy has created a life in New York. Caden is the piece that holds that new life together. The risk for Murphy is high. Someone has to decide if it's worth it. Caden's mind has never been more clear. But life has one more curve-ball. It really did make me laugh out loud.

Caden and Murphy actually fell in love And I fell right with them. And I love baseball. However, I was tad bit bored. The dialogue was hilarious and meaningful. The conversations were realistic. I loved watching these two characters become the best of friends and eventually lovers. The secondary characters were also complex, and damn likable, even all those million dollar man whores everyone loves to hate. The sexual tension and sexy time scenes were mild and limited. All very well written, don't get me wrong.

Not filthy-confessional-status by any means, but still pleasant. However, after all that sexual tension, there was more sexual frustration in the end. Everything was perfect and fun but I wanted more. I'm greedy like that. The twist seemed tad late and underwhelming, but unique for the most part. More external and relationship conflict throughout would've picked up the overall energy, but I still thoroughly enjoyed the writing.

It was a fun and flirty sports romance. I've read many sports romance filled with arrogant douchebaggery. Caden was far from arrogant, he's the real MVP of the book. Mar 24, Blue rated it it was ok Shelves: DNF There's a special place in hell for me because I actually thought it was kinda funny that these two got together because Caden batted a home run ball which hits aspiring model, Murphy, in her money-making face.

Other than that this book seems to be pretty tragic and I'm jumping ship before all the dramallama that seems to be ahead. I'm bored from reading Murphy's bland ass character with her being all goody-goody. I just find it hard to believe Murphy doesn't blame Caden at DNF There's a special place in hell for me because I actually thought it was kinda funny that these two got together because Caden batted a home run ball which hits aspiring model, Murphy, in her money-making face.

I just find it hard to believe Murphy doesn't blame Caden at all for damaging her face and subsequently losing a modelling gig. She's too much of a plain Jane. But hey, Caden seems to have gotten hit in the head one too many times by a baseball himself going by the crap he spews about never trusting a woman to take care of birth control so he always "double wraps" In any case, I really hope the author debunked that myth in the book somewhere if not Jan 19, Jennifer Dale rated it really liked it Shelves: This had all the things us readers like. The Intro on how they met was obviously predictable but a first time read for me.

There were u 4. There were ups and downs throughout the story. All the characters had strong personalities but when it was time for them to be psst off or just be down in the dumps; their attitude didn't linger more than what it should. I love how Caden teaches Murphy about baseball. AND I love how the sport itself plays a big roll in the storyline. Alot times, the theme is based on the H or H profession but the "said" profession will hardly be acknowledged.

Does that make sense? But this book isn't like that. Also had lots of great everyday life advice. My favorite - characters had great communication; Yes, there were some hidden secrets that got them in trouble but like I said again The troubleness lasted just enough for some angst but not to long to where you are screaming at them to get their act together.

Maybe a couple of sex scenes but nothing over the top where you end up skimming. Just a tad more.. Just a personal thing. This could have been a 5 star read. The story was good, the writing was good. I fell in love with Caden, I could see myself being friends with Murphy So why only 3 stars? Well, I think there's a responsibility in new adult books to promote safe and healthy sexual practices. Because young people who may or may not know better are going to read those books.

It's a really, really bad idea. Students choose words from the book, write the definition, and draw a picture to go along with the word. Your students will be enthralled by this story of following a dream. The book is about a young lady who prefers baseball to cooking, dancing, knitting, and pretty much everything else a girl was supposed to like in the s.
