In the Clothing of Wolves
Wilderness has a wild side I can relate to, but I also have a deep appreciation for the opposite of wilderness — civilization.

Most of the lower 48 states are settled areas. Here civilization has replaced wilderness.

Not all animals are compatible with civilization. California, where I currently live, has a grizzly bear on the state flag, but there are no grizzly bears in the state. There is no way to mix this aggressive predator with populated areas.

The grizzly bear is not unique in its inability to mix well with civilization. Years ago when I was in Yellowstone Park I was approached by several people asking me to sign a petition to bring wolves into the park. I knew what that would mean to wildlife and livestock. It happened anyway through the Endangered Species Act, and the results were exactly what most Montanans anticipated. Real prophets are not rebellious people. In my wolf encounters, the people in question had issues with spiritual authority.

Do they have a spiritual covering? In one of my WISC wolf in sheep clothing encounters, this individual pretended to have a covering, but after I learned he was a WISC, his pastor who was supposed to be his covering contacted me. It came to find out that this WISC had issues for a long time. Had it been a one-time thing, then maybe the person just isn't mature. But in these situations, it was a pattern that happened over and over again.
Wolves will try to manipulate and control you. WISCs can be some of the sweetest of people as long as they think you can be controlled. They will operate under tactful intimidation and often, you don't realize what's happening right away.
This is not from God. God doesn't manipulate and control, and anyone who says they're sent by God cannot operate under this spirit either.
A sheep in wolves clothing - Cognitive Edge
When wolves are in a fight, they will go for blood. We all go through situations where we will act less than perfect in conflict, but wolves take that a step further. Once they get a taste for blood, they will attempt to go for it in arguments. They will suddenly turn vicious. They will justify their actions covered in a cloud of fake Christian cliches. I once talked with a WISC who thought it was his job to destroy anyone who remotely conflicted with him. He thought God had appointed him some kind of enforcer. But God doesn't do that. Even when Jesus hung on a cross, He cried out, "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do" Luke Although God doesn't expect you to be a doormat, I've seen wolves act like rabid animals.
This is the nature of the spirit they are operating in.
Please pay close attention that your enemy is not the person, but the devil to which the person has given a foothold in their life. This is a spiritual matter. Wolves will act one way around those they think matter and suddenly change behind closed doors.
Exposing Ravening Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing
He was one of the nicest of people when relating to leadership, and he was to me until conflict happened. We were once in a room prophesying over a woman. When the woman left the room, he turned to me and told me that the "devil had been telling him all about me.
There is some rotten fruit in the life of a wolf. The Bible is very clear that we need to learn how to check the spiritual fruit in others. Are they people of peace, patience, gentleness and self-control? I picked up a book the other day making a big thing about the distinction between complex and complicated systems.
The solutions are the classic sets of platitudes about leadership, committment and openess to novelty. No real change is expected, the whole thing is simply dressing up sheep in wolves clothing; pretending to novelty while propviding no real challenge. Other, more serious, attempts to understand complexity fail to come to grips with issues of dispiositionality v causality or the nature of constraints.
Instead they hide behind the language of self-organisation and emergence; but all of the proposed practices or changes are heaviliy facilitated workshops in which people agree to be different but in practice do nothing. Now the specific context of that quote related to the way in which the Agile movement in software development has become corrupted by an over constrained, over constructuted approach which gives IT directors the comfort of saying they have changed without really having to do so. It also plays to the desire of said executives to announce major, costly initiatives that will only exepcted to deliver after that executive has moved on leaving some other poor sod to pick up the pieces.
That has been a depressingly common characteristics of most adoptions of new methods so its not suprise that the SAFe founders played to that weakness in purchasing executives.
