I'm very glad that I read this book in it's entirety because it would have driven me nuts to have to wait for each book.

This is a story about how communication is the key to all relationships. Without it, there can be years of regret. Kate is a modern businesswoman who knows exactly how First published as a six-part e serial novel, Opal Carew's His to Command is the scorching tale of one woman's surrender at the hands of a dominant billionaire.

Oct 03, Pete rated it liked it. His to Command is a six-part serial by Opal Carew another dominant billionaire author. This was a thankfully short story. It was a predictable pattern that Kate would overcome her past issues and accept an submissive role from Matt who was not a terrible control freak. The story felt rushed but had plenty of steam. Aug 19, Jayna rated it did not like it. I was looking for an audiobook to listen to while multi-tasking that I didn't have to focus intently on.

Maybe it was because I was listening to the audiobook, so it made it sound even cheesier? I expect some amount of cheesiness, but I couldn't take any more and shut it off. This is a perfect tale for those who enjoy erotic romance with a BDSM spin, but when all is said and done, the story is pretty forgettable, but an enjoyable one. Kate moved from New York City to Connecticut two years ago in order to escape her rich businessman lover, Matthew Pearce. Kate met Matthew as a consultant for a project she was working on through his high-tech firm, and from that they started dating and became lovers.

Matthew likes to be inventive in bed, which leads to some kink and BDSM, mainly bondage, spankings, sexy leather outfits for Kate and some flogging. Kate fell head over heels in love with Matthew, but then one night at a BDSM themed party, she felt she was betrayed horribly by Matthew, and without telling him why, she up and left him, moving away in the hopes they would never meet again. Now she's afraid Matthew will confront her and expect answers for leaving him. A corporation reaches out to her, interested in investing in her consulting company.

Kate has no choice because the roads are closed due to the snowstorm and she has to spend the night. She feels that Matthew has too much control and she loses herself with him. She accepts his offer and then the game is on between them both. His to Command has some very erotic love scenes shown from a Dominant and Submissive sexual relationship.

Matthew is far from being that stereotypical, alpha near abusive jerk we sometime see in books of this nature. Everything Kate feels and does is understandable, although there are some instances of miscommunication between her and Matthew that could have been solved by confronting the person who caused all the drama, or just talking to one another, period.

I always felt Matthew treated Kate with respect even when Kate was calling him sir when they played their sex games.

His to Command (His to Command, #) by Opal Carew

Opal really knows how to bring forth the sensuality factor. But when all was said and done His to Command was unmemorable. This is what I would call a ho hum read that gives you a few hours of enjoyment but no real investment. Fans of erotic and BDSM romance will surely like His to Command but when all is said and done, it has a very, been there done that feel and nothing explosive or wow worthy. Overall a so-so read.

However, being a person who must finish everything, I decided to go back and finish it. Awful, just plain awful. This was my first book by Opal Carew and I wanted so much to find another good author to read. This clearly was not it. Unrealistic that two very successful business people Matt and Kate break up and not communicate a reason for the breakup for two years.

But they'll come together for Sub training, even if she was his sub for several years. This book was all about sex, sex, sex. I'm a fan of the sex, but there was soooo much of it, I had to start glossing over the pages just to finish. Example, the epilogue was totally about a sexual encounter and view spoiler [accidently getting pregnant and then again, thinking that Matt is going to leave her because she assumed he did not want kids.

No HEA here or a glimpse on how they are doing in the future, just sex. I really did not bond with his character. I found him to be stupid as a businessman who is OK with miscommunications or lack of communication on so any different levels. I wanted so much to get out of her head. Again, the love of your life lets another abuse you and you say nothing about it? You just refuse to see him and then two years later, when you do see him, you still really do not want to share why you left him. I found it to be interesting to get both of their pov as I was reading it.

Other than that, the author did not engage me in the characters and the outcome, no angst. It did not leave me wanting to know more. I just wanted to finish it. Apr 15, Cheryl rated it really liked it. Kate is in need of an investor for her company. The last person she ever wanted to see was Matt. She left him several years ago. When Matt sees Kate again, he knows that he can get some pay back for the lost years he got when Kate left him. However the last thing Matt expected was to fall for Kate again.

    His to Command

Will Kate and Matt stay with each other when a secret from their past comes back? His to Command is a full novel comprised of a six part mini series from author, Opal Carew. I have to say that I Kate is in need of an investor for her company. I have to say that I thought this book was better. I tried to picture this book as a mini series with the different chapters that I knew made up this series and I thought that as a full length book it just read better.

I just could not really picture the series being as strong. I was however very surprised by how quickly I flew through this book. I started it by the time I put it down to go to bed, I was more then half was done with it. Which speaking of the heat level in this book, it was there and I liked it and it is the sort of heat that I have come to expect from Opal however it just did not make me instantly want a tall, glass of water.

Still His to Command is a good book. I enjoy reading an Opal Carew book. May 18, Jennifer rated it really liked it. However, in the case of Matt and Kate, it really is Kate.

How To Dog Training - Basic Dog Commands - Doctor Mike

This is not a story where the female character is being forced to become a submissive because of the male character having issues with the need to control and dominate her. Matt is a dominant so it would seem they would have the perfect relationship since Kate is a submissive.

If there was ever a story of incorrect assumptions and misunderstandings this is it. If the two main characters had had a conversation two years ago there would not have been a book.

Kate, not accepting the person she is, jumps at the opportunity to see Matt as a monster and flees. Matt, assuming Kate wants to end the relationship, takes her disappearance and lack of response to his attempts to communicate with her as her way of ending the relationship. They each felt betrayed by the other one.

Let this book be a lesson in the folly of making assumptions and not communicating. This is a quick, enjoyable read from Opal Crew. Nov 15, Livia rated it really liked it. There are six parts to this series of eBooks. I have completed Part 1: Part one sets up the story of how Kate and Matt met and some information on why she left him. While pursuing her career in a new location she spots him at a local mall one Saturday.

The issue is Kate had problems accepting the dominant role in their former relationship and is secretive on what happened to send her running. Meanwhile, Matt has devised a way to bring her back into his life and readers won't find out the how and whys until Part 2: So far, this story is being told very well and with enough mystery to frustrate the reader.

I'm having fun with this series. It's clear that Kate still loves Matt and has believable concerns. I can't wait to continue these stories. Apr 16, Stephie rated it it was ok Shelves: Unfortunately I was disappointed by this book. It has an interesting idea - reuniting past lovers and the heroine willingly agrees to learn submission at the hands of the hero.

But despite my hopes that the shared history would make Kate and Matt's behavior seem more natural and their feelings more real, I just couldn't feel the love between them. They both seemed irrational to me - she went running in panic in a mall to escape him, like he's going to kill her if he sees her, and he had no idea Unfortunately I was disappointed by this book.

They both seemed irrational to me - she went running in panic in a mall to escape him, like he's going to kill her if he sees her, and he had no idea why he offered Kate the lessons in submissions or what he was doing all through the book, and that are just a few examples about what I didn't like.

When a hero in a book is dominant, I want him to be confident in himself and in his actions and I was missing that in Matt. I still liked the idea of the book so it wasn't bad in my opinion, but I expected more. There are no discussion topics on this book yet. Showing of 37 reviews. Top Reviews Most recent Top Reviews. I might not be so irritated if the book was written a little better such as the way Sylvia Day wrote in the Gideon Cross series. They would be well worth it. I have read from better authors and did not have to pay such an amount. I thought that perhaps this series was well worth the price and should be read. What a scam for we who had to pay such a high price when they were separate!!!!!

I could not get into the hero and had a hard time picturing him as a billionaire. Also, he took her to this BDSM house. She was his submissive, yet he allowed her to walk off with a stranger???? I am removing these books from my Kindle, as it is not worth re-reading. I love Opal Carews books, this has nothing to do with the writing or story line more to do with the price. This series in specific reminded me sooo much about one that I recent read. Duh I would have prefered One book. The writing was good, but I think it is awful how the books are set up.

You get 50 pages, then have to buy another book. By the time you buy all of them, you have paid a ridiculous amount for what could have been in just one averaged size book. The book was excellent, characters were amazing it kept me reading all the way through. The story line was very well thought out and executed. I would highly recommend this book! Amazon your better than that.
