I know this guy who wrote the book tho, 'til recently, it had been about 25 years since I'd seen him. I expected a compilation of wild-but-true stories from the bar days where we met and I was at the fringe of his crowd that would make me chuckle but, instead, I found myself unable to put it down as it's so much more, and truly insightful and moving.

I thought the jacket was cool and the gift kind, but after reading this book I realize it was more. It's simply who Steve is.

This Might Hurt A Bit

Now if you don't know him, I can say it's still a great and well written coming-of-age story. It almost reads like fiction, these true-life encounters are so incredible. Steve's mother is an inspiration to all single moms. I wish I'd met her. Steve's honesty about his own childhood can boost the spirit of the bullied or "misfit" kid.
