I think it's a strange coincidence for the man to be in that place at that moment. However the dog could be killed also by the woman who live with the girl to"help" her. The murdered has been to much useful to be also unexpected. And I think it was the other woman. In this way she drove the girl's fortune toward the man. Feb 21, No mystery at all, no sinister stuff, just a short story. Mar 20, I agree with Kim, it seems like a direct story where the motivations of the girl are examined, nothing more or less.
