The Path Remembered (The Journey Trilogy Book 2)

To get to their happy ending they were met with many twists and turns, but they were truly meant to be together. The story takes place during H. The books are also filled with many important secondary characters. I finished this story days ago and the characters have still stayed with me.

Torrest is an absolute delight to converse with as I have had the opportunity to do so on FB. I am still sighing happily and giddy from reading it!!!! I can totally picture the "hottest guy in high school" an I will have to say that these books are some of my favorites to date. I can totally picture the "hottest guy in high school" and how all the girls drooled over him.

I was one of those girls too but unlike Layla Warren, I never scored him as my own. When she let him go in New York I thought I would die. I just can't even think about the lunch box. Even though Trip Wiley is a Hollywood movie star, he still knows where home is and through all the ups and downs of stardom and life I want to wring her neck a few times that she was SO "derrrr" about seeing the obviously blatant clues These book are a diamond in the rough.

This series is an easy read if your looking for something light. I found myself skimming through a lot of "filler" information that didn't seem critical to the relationship between the h and H. I also found myself frustrated at their poor communication skills. Overall it was cute, but not my absolute favorite. Aug 13, Juls rated it really liked it. Overall, I really liked this series. Trip and Layla are meant to be together but just go through years of bad timing yet their love never, ever lessened.

You're rooting for them the entire time and even when they get together c'mon, that's not really a spoiler considering the genre , you're still rooting for them. Remember When (Remember Trilogy, #1) by T. Torrest

And that is how this triology is written. The drama is taking pkace within the characters and their journey apart and tigether. Part one left me in a book bliss and contained the most romantic letter I've read. Part 2 had me fall even more in love with the two MCs and Part three was a great conclusion. Layla and Trip are so perfectly imperfect. I do recommend this triology. Just read it yo Sweet, funny wonderful! Just read it you wont be sorry! Aug 27, Aim rated it it was amazing. This was a very entertaining series. I read the entire series in a week as a nice light read while I had down time for spring break. Please note, being a light read doesn't mean that this isn't a good book. I enjoyed every minute of this story line. Being a Jersey girl made this book even more fun for me to read.

Normally I am not a fan of cliffhangers, perhaps because so many authors use them to disguise sub par works as the genuine thing. Luckily, The Remember Trilogy by T. Torrest is truly a wonderful series of books with a fascinating plot, strong characters, snappy dialogue and an overflow of emotion.

I laughed and cried my way through every page wondering if and when Layla and Trip would ever find their happily ever after. Was fate destined to keep them apart forever, when anyone Beyond Spectacular! Was fate destined to keep them apart forever, when anyone with eyes could see they seemed so perfect for each other? The other piece that amazed me was the pacing: Torrest's instincts were spot on as to when to introduce humor, pathos and nostalgia in order to advance the stories and she used her skills well. I adored these books, could not put them down once I started reading them!

Do I recommend them? May 28, Zachary McCarter rated it it was amazing. Fantastic I zoomed through this trilogy in 3 days. I couldn't put it down! I was hooked to the characters and had to know more. Well Gitte, after falling deeply in love with this authors work in Remember When Book One how much were we looking forward to this one? We really were left hanging in Remember When and I really had missed Trip, Layla and the gang, so catching up with them again put a huge smile on my face. Remember When 2 had a different to feel to book one and so it should. She injects much warmth, humor and lots of love in her books and it shows in the way her characters interact, in the way the scenes play out.

Do you ever get over your first love? Is there still a place reserved just for that person in your heart? Do we ever really grow up? But not only that, she wrote a story that crept completely under my skin and into my heart. Her writing is flawless, her stories written with humour and heart; Tina Torrest writes with love. I was dying to get stuck into RW2 and pretty much inhaled it in one sitting.

RW2 was indeed very different, not only in tone and subject but also in the emotional sense. It needed to be though as we re-join them in adulthood as opposed to when they stood on the cusp of entering this new phase in their life. Do you run the gauntlet knowing it will expose everything; your heart and your inner most thoughts and feelings?

The battle is on for both Layla and Trip to realise and possibly act upon just these. They face the memories of their past, their time apart and have to deal with the obstacles of the present. This can ultimately make their future uncertain or even change everything. Such a huge risk to both Layla and Trip, their hearts and what could possibly be…. Layla is a young woman who has grown up and moved, though she has lost her way somewhat. Layla has forgotten her first love. This authors timing is perfect. She knows when to diffuse a situation with humor and she knows how to have your heart aching with want and because of this you really do go through the emotions with Layla.

I identified with her and I empathized with her so much over her feelings for Trip, how guarded she was of her heart and how she questioned her life. Be still my beating heart! His self-doubt enabled us see a different Trip but his trademark cheekiness and cockiness is still there. Appearance is like a religion to those people. Our Layla has definitely lost her way. Has she forgotten Trip… no, how could she forget her first love.

How could you forget Trip?! He is constantly there in the background as her life continues down the road she ultimately chose. Layla is still focussed on achieving her dreams, yet she is finding that one can be at the expense of another. This is life and grown up stuff. I loved Layla in book 1 and I still love Layla. I completely connected with her; her sense of humour is still there but this story finds her at an important crossroads that can act as a catalyst; have a domino effect if you like.

My heart hurt for her and at times her actions and reasoning frustrated me. As for Trip, sigh…. I utterly and completely love this guy. Even more so, having just finished RW2. But Trip Wiley was a gorgeous young man exuding raw, unabashed sex at every turn. It was only slightly impossible to remember how to breathe. Trip is the brave one; he too is at a cross roads and the way he feels about his life, himself and love, well, he put his heart right out there despite the possibility of it being crushed.

When Layla and Trip re-connect; the tension, the chemistry, the friendship, the love…it all returns and the emotion is so intense I felt it completely! So much pain and passion, so much love and laughter. Tina Torrest I salute you for taking RW2 to the next stage of life with such emotion and making this change real and heartfelt. This was a perfect second book. The trademark references and humor we adored in RW1 is still there, the passion and sexual chemistry is there….

These two practically combust! Yet this is also a different book as the characters have evolved. I loved catching up with Trip and Layla again. Sharing their pasts, living their present and exploring their futures. Oh boy did I cry! Yes I loved and ached with these characters. I adore her writing.

Once again T Torrest you left us hanging! ARC supplied by author in exchange for an honest review View all 17 comments. Jun 22, Jennifer Kyle rated it really liked it. Help me to remember, Lay. Help me remember us. I can't believe T. Torrest ended the book the way she did it was brutal! A reader should be warned this is a huge cliffhanger Think along the lines of Rebecca Donovan - Breathe Book 2. This sequel was a fantastic follow up to Layla and Trip's story. The book fast forwards nine years later, finding Trip Wiley on his way to becoming a huge star.

Sadly somewhere along the nine years Trip and Layla lost contact. Layla is living in the West Village and working at a magazine called Now Magazine. A reader will be excited to know that she is still really tight with her best friend Lisa and that Lisa and Pickford are still together! This book holds all the fun and humor found in the first installment and will have a reader laughing once again.

Although other books have went this route, this was done uniquely. Trip knows Layla better than herself and sees right through her current career and although he drops a bomb on her he is totally upfront about wanting to spend time with her. Trip puts it all out for Layla. Yeah, sure, he wanted me right then. But what about tomorrow? So be warned T. Torrest… Remember when that crazy Jennifer Kyle stalked you till book 3 came out?

I mean, I get it, I do. You need some sort of conflict, some big dramatic thing to overcome Stupid, I know, when all I had to base that expectation on was one single previous book. But what can I say? After all those startling confessions, after all those realizations about their past misunderstandings How the hell can she suddenly think he just wants to get into her pants?

It doesn't make any sense. I mean, yeah, there was a lot of drama and misunderstandings in the first book too, but I was ok with it. No more fucking excuses. How do I write this review without expressing exactly how I feel about this couple without giving anything away? All I can say is what an amazing ending only making me want the third book NOW! But what has happened in the 9 years that they have been apart? Have they met other people? How have they grown? Are there still feelings? I am thinking about them hours after finishing this book.

Layla has an awesome family and friends. And Trip…how can you not love Trip? I love stories about second chances, but it can be a tricky genre to write about. If you do not feel connected to the characters relationship or their feelings, it is hard to believe that they can feel anything after not seeing each other for 9 years. Torrest does an excellent job.

This book made me laugh, it made me cry, and it made me think. I loved it all. Some parts not so easy to read than others, but I think it was true. Went on eBay to look for a Dukes of Hazzard lunch box. The story was told as only it could have been told. I wish I could tell you how I feel right now, but I cannot. Coming face to face with the man tha Trip and Layla parted ways that morning, sure they kept in touch here and there over the first few years but then life happened and the letters, the calls Coming face to face with the man that was her first love is going to push her to draw some hard lines and even harder choices. Trip is the same boy, but yet different. His love of creating something has been tarnished by the glamor that comes with it.

But when he sees his Layla again, old sparks ignite. Their timing has always been horrible, too many misunderstandings prevented them from being together for more than a few stolen moments. Some things just never change. From the moment I started this book, I was cheering these two on. I was invested in them and I needed them to find a way to make it work, whatever it took. But this story gave us a few moments where we felt like it was finally going to happen and then it just ripped it all away. I was going crazy wanting these two to actually say how they felt out loud instead of just assuming the other person had to know it.

My heart soared along with theirs in the moments of pure bliss and it plummeted when it all came crashing down around them. There are not many times when I pick up a completed series and want to devour the entire series back to back. Typically I want to breathe a bit between books, but with this series I had to immediately pick up the final book in this series. There was just no way to not immediately continue their journey. If you enjoy a mix of humor with your love story, if you love a brilliant coming of age series This has every element that creates a perfect romance that is bound to stick with you for years to come.

Only read this review if you read the first book already! So, I loved the ending to book one. The last scene was so well written that I really felt like I experienced all of those emotions with her. I literally cried when he gave her the note with his mind ramble The ending was so realistic, heartbreaking and bittersweet all at the sam I am going to start off by saying that I am assuming that anyone reading this review has already read RM 1.

The ending was so realistic, heartbreaking and bittersweet all at the same time. I don't think people should expect that a book where the characters are 17 can end in a neatly tied up HEA. She needed to grow up and go to college, but it hurts to be separated from your first love! In Remember Me 2, Layla and Trip meet again 9 years later when she has the chance to interview him for her article. The connection and chemistry are still there, but they are both in relationships with other people. It was so intense, I had butterflies the whole time I was reading.

I feel like I have to read kind of a lot of crap in this genre for every really good one I find. This is definitely a well written, well edited gem and I am so happy I heard about it. I don't want to give anything away, but I will say that if you are someone who hates cliffhanger endings, I would hold off on reading this until book 3 is out. I planned on doing that, but I don't have the patience or the will power: I am really looking forward to book 3!

I will be the first to buy it, probably pulling an all nighter to read it: I can't even express how much I adore this couple, if book 3 turns out the way I'm hoping it will, this is going to be an all time favorite series for me. No pressure or anything T. I'm not kidding around, I'm expecting sparks to fly and the best HEA ever written after this emotional trauma. The ending of this book nearly killed me, I am just so happy I don't have to wait for the next book.

I feel so sorry for anyone who had to wait months for the 3rd book, I seriously would of died!! I ended up loving this book a tiny bit more than the first one, I found it flowed so nicely with ALOT of angst I literally couldn't sit still reading this book! The emotions jheez one minute smiling, laughing, swooning and then BAM I was very close to tears.

Trip Wow he is still just as swoony as he was 10 years ago. I felt so sorry for him, he was so broken in this one and the worst was you could just read how lonely he was I so badly wanted to jump in my kindle and give him a hug, just shows being famous isn't everything! He let more of his feelings come out in this story which was so nice but just broke my heart. Definitely a top book boyfriend! Layla I loved her in this book just as much as I did in the first, the things she says is hilarious I so wish she was real I would love her as a friend!

I found the decisions she chose was right BUT I still wish she thought with her heart instead of her head, if she did we wouldn't be in this mess right now! Was nice hearing about all their old friends and what they were all up to now!

Remember When

So pleased Lisa was still in the picture she really is a good friend! On the third one right now. I literally cant wait another second! I need to see how it ends. Layla and Trip deserve a huge HEA and my heart needs a break so I really hope the next one is gentle with it! Truly deserved 5 stars!! View all 11 comments. Dec 05, AJ rated it really liked it Shelves: Layla is living in New York City, trying to make a career in journalism, and Trip has appeared in a few films and is on the cusp of superstardom.

It was excruciating at first, getting over Trip. Not that I ever really did, mind you. But during those first years, I had no other choice but to go on with my life. Because do you ever really get over your first love? Even during your twenties, when you experience that initial taste of being a grown-up… that teenager still lives inside you. That person you were before the world started telling you how to be, what to say, who you should be with. Before you lost yourself in expectations and plans, and could just be a work-in-progress with only the vaguest of results in mind.

Truth is, I was a bit lost. When Layla discovers that Trip he is town filming his latest movie, she wrangles her way into an interview with him, and the sense of anticipation builds and builds until the moment they see each other again, and from that very first moment, you just know that nothing has changed between them. He was looking into my eyes, but his words were directed toward his publicist. His voice was soft. I did love you. You did it well. But the frustration just heightens everything — for both Layla and Trip, and the reader.

And that, plus the heartbreak they share over their years apart, makes everything between them so much more intense. Grown-up Layla is just as enjoyable as teenager Layla. She is still struggling to find her place in life, but she is slowly starting to figure it out, and once again her narrative is realistic and highly entertaining.

Return By Aaron Becker

And I really enjoyed getting to see grown-up Trip. His rise to fame has left the man with some demons, and we get to see just a little bit of that. Help me to remember us. And if they do, how will they ever get their happy ending? I had a great time reading this book — like the first in the trilogy it was fun and immediately engaging. The angst and sexual tension makes this one a more intense read, and all I can say is thank God I wanted until all three books were out before I read this, because after that hideous ending, I need the rest of this story NOW!

I loved it — 4 stars. View all 7 comments. Sep 14, Angie Elle rated it it was amazing Shelves: I have no idea why, but I freaking loved this one. Maybe it's because I know we're getting more of Layla and Trip, and I am desperate for that! Whatever the reasoning--this one worked for me. I tried to practice restraint with this book; I really did. I stopped reading in the wee hours of the morning to get some sleep, but after laying there for half an hour I could not get this book out of my head.

So I figured to hell with it. I'm going to finish it. THEN I can sleep. The emotional punch was so much that I was awake for another hour obsessing about the ending. I haven't had a five a. They don't work out so well for me the next day! Thinking about Trip as he was then is enough to bring a curl to my toes, even after all these years. I mean, he was That Guy. You know the one. That guy who could raise your blood pressure just by passing you in the hall. That guy who could melt you with a single look aimed in your general direction.

I loved seeing how Layla and Trip's lives had turned out. As is true in real life, neither of them were where they expected to be. Even during your twenties, when you experience that initial taste of being a grown-up Just like in the first book, the chemistry between Trip and Layla was explosive.

I don't want to spoil anything for you, so I'll just tell you this was a heart wrenching read that will leave you emotionally gutted and desperately wanting more. My only gripe is that this author doesn't have a back list. I am incredibly greedy when it comes to her books--I want more! View all 5 comments. It's not often I finish a book in the same day, let alone a whole trilogy in one weekend.

But, for the first time in a long time, I managed to do just that. This trilogy came to me as a big blur of convoluted issues, miscommunications, and misinterpreted feelings for life-long love. It took my heart and crushed it into minuscule and insignificant little pieces. I was both happy and sad, pissed and relieved, broken in spirit and hopeful. I loved and hated it. Cigs were made to be sucked into my lungs; Trip's mouth was made to suck my lips.

Both were equally as dangerous to my heart. What can I say when it's obvious that while I both loved Trip and Lay together, I then grew to an all consuming anger the minute they misunderstood their feelings for one another time and again. There are glaring problems that killed me inside, but I also am torn because this does happen in real life.
