Tulip doctrines
That God, by His sovereign grace predestines people into salvation; that Jesus died only for those predestined; that God regenerates the individual where he is then able and wants to choose God; and that it is impossible for those who are redeemed to lose their salvation.
Arminianism, on the other hand, maintains that God predestined, but not in an absolute sense.

Rather, He looked into the future to see who would pick him and then He chose them. Jesus died for all peoples' sins who have ever lived and ever will live, not just the Christians. Each person is the one who decides if he wants to be saved or not. And finally, it is possible to lose your salvation some arminians believe you cannot lose your salvation.
These five categories do not comprise Calvinism in totality.

The heart, emotions, will, mind, and body are all affected by sin. We are completely sinful.
We are not as sinful as we could be, but we are completely affected by sin. The doctrine of Total Depravity is derived from scriptures that reveal human character: Man is a slave of sin Rom. He does not seek for God Rom.

He cannot understand spiritual things 1 Cor. He is at enmity with God Eph. And, is by nature a child of wrath Eph. Therefore God must predestine. God does not base His election on anything He sees in the individual.
Dead in Sin?
He chooses the elect according to the kind intention of His will Eph. Nor does God look into the future to see who would pick Him. Keep in mind that election can be of individuals, John I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
We shall be satisfied with the goodness of Your house, Of Your holy temple. For many are called, but few chosen. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours.
And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved. And as many as had been appointed to eternal life believed. It is God who justifies. Is there unrighteousness with God? For who has resisted His will?
But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work. Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded. But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.
Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. Otherwise you also will be cut off. Or do I seek to please men?
