This book is great fun to read, as is his Janos: Recipes and Tales from a Southwest Restaurant, and Janos greatly improved my understanding of how to make delicious Mexican foods, not only renellos, but any Mexican dish, using his specific approach to the three basic elements. I think there is all of one recipe I'm willing to try and it is so very similar to my standby Sunday morning recipe I don't think the changes will make much a difference. The first few recipes are all good. I know because I've made them many times in my own kitchen for years.

So if your looking for a place to start, yeah okay give it a go; but in truth I would still recommend you go to Pati's Mexican Table website and give that one a go to see if you want to put for the effort and like the flavor profile of Rellenos first. Then sure invest in the book if you want something bound together in one place. Like I said, the recipes I looked at have been done to death and are all tried and true. The technique is nothing new either, so you can't really mess up.

I have also searched high and low for good recipes, some basic ones along with some a little more adventuresome There are step-by-step instructions, side-bar hints, lots of great pictures, simple and not-so-simple recipes - all devoted to the chile relleno. I am very happy with this purchase.

As my husband's relatives will attest to, Chile Rellenos are my favorite Mexican dish. My family likes the variations in this book, and I love them.

This book came just as my Poblano Chilis were beginning to appear. A couple more months and I'll be deep into Relleno Land. My husband loves to cook and he loves chiles rellenos This book has may good ideas for chili rellenos. The size and shape is a bit odd and I wish it had more recipes in it, but the ones that are there are great!!
