I got a poinsettia at Christmas and it sits in my bay window and it is still in bloom. I do feed it Orchid feed once a week and have repotted it in mix if orchid and multi purpose compost. I live in Daytona Beach, FL and have several poinsettia plants. I have a huge live oak and want to plant them around the tree. There are several other plants such as petunias bromiliard and an amarillis. The light is filtered.

The temperature here in the summer runs about I do know of a woman in Leesburgh who had poinsettias climbing the one side of her house and they are also in filtered sunlight. They are beautiful and I would like to see them around the oak tree like that. And they attract black and yellow striped butterflies. My one year old plant started blooming beautifully in January.
