Vow of Seduction (Zebra Debut)

Will he have the courage to do what is right though when faced with the possibility that even loyalty comes at a high price. I really enjoyed this battle between right and wrong, good and evil, danger around each and every corner. The author has played her characters well and you just have to hate the evil, love the innocent and long for love to bloom in the face of uncertain odds.

He is also aware that Rose was badly abused by her first husband and she's terrified of marriage. She had planned to take a vow of chastity. He has lost everyone he loved and thinks that he's a jinx, so while it A Medieval, so this starts with high marks from me. He is willing to give her to the other man until the other man tries to rape her. He talks her into marrying him on one condition. She demands that it be a chaste marriage, because after all she's endured from her first spouse, she hates the touch of men. Rand remembers her passionate responses to his lovemaking and he's always had a tendre for her, so while he agrees to her terms, it's difficult for him to keep his promises. Meanwhile, the man the king had intended to give her to now wants revenge for being jilted.

I read this out of order, so there was some backstory that didn't make sense to me, but there was also another character with an old grudge who shows up to make things even nastier. Some repetitive moments and awkward phrasing mar this book but I enjoyed the story enough that it didn't bother me too much.

It is a book fill with manipulations and lies. The main characters, Rand and Rose had a hard time connecting and not much time is spent on developing their relationship. Rand holds back and Rose keeps secrets from him through the majority of the book. It was frustrating at times because you find yourself wanting to knock some sense into the characters.

There is a lot going on and some important issues are glossed over when they would have benefited from more detail. Additionally, parts of the book felt contrived and far-fetched.

But, having said all that, the book as a whole is intriguing and keeps your attention throughout. Oct 30, Kat rated it really liked it. I enjoyed my second foray into the Knights of the Crusade series just as much as I did the first. Rand and Rose were secondary characters in the first, and I was quite looking forward to their story.

Rose was an interesting heroine And then there was the mystery surrounding the death of her abuser husband. I really liked Rand in the first book, and he was even better here. Johnson continues with this series.

The internal conflicts that the two main characters had to deal with were consistently brought out and mulled over ad nauseam! The three main problems I had with this book, aside from the constant perusal of the past, was the fact that they went from no love to Baaaammm, from cowering mouse to fearless, and what the hell happened to Lydia????? Apparently, she slinks away to destroy another day. This read was a bit disjointed for my taste.

The "happy ending" wasn't very satisfying. Mar 26, Laura Landry rated it did not like it. I thought it was pretty bad. Storyline not good and not believable.
