The man selected by the town council to act as Santa Clause is the last man she or anyone else with sense would have chosen for the job. To add to the problems he creates, he is found murdered as he dressed for the parade. Digging into the murder is a creepy little journalist who spends time cursing his cell phone, asking questions, and hunting his lost camera that he is most unhappy to have lost.

His attitude toward the parade has Meg biting her tongue to hold back remarks about his manners.

The parade goes on as does the murder investigation and a blizzard that puts out the electric power wreaks havoc on the roads and Meg and her husband are stuck with unexpected guests and animals. She is aware that one of them could be a killer, but which one. There seems to be no way to tell.

There is enough action and suspense contained in this book to make any mystery fan happy. Follow the clues closely to see if you can guess the killer.

Chasing Smoke by Bill Cameron. But finding out why these men died and who might be next, not to mention if even his own doctor is involved, might just kill him before the cancer does. This is one sorry sack that is easy to root for, and one that readers will want to see again, if only to find out if he made it through. All in all, this was both a sorrowful and engaging read that was well worth the cover price. One of the Wicked by Harry Shannon.

And there is no better feeling I also see what you mean about "sensual". The scene of Cliff and Laird in the Caribbean creates quite a visual in the reader's brain. I look forward to seeing how Laird and Cliff deal with their situation, and what becomes of Father Minkelbrink. A reader does not just "read" her books she makes you experience the tales as if you were somehow personally involved and experiencing all the pleasure, pains, dangers and elation for yourself.

For a writer to get a reader so involved that they become the hero or heroine themselves is a mark of a great. You live and experience on an intimate and personal level and that is the mark of high level and enjoyable literature. Bravo, Valda and may you write dozens and dozens more of your captivating and immersive tales to give us an understanding, an experience we would not have otherwise.

I thought it read very masculine, ie: The daily events make her real and approachable. Your audience may be bigger than just women who like stories about women a good basis for a screenplay. When the system fails to punish the man who kidnapped and murdered her only child, Laird takes matters into her own hands -- and gets away with it, because Laird and only one other person knows the true meaning of a Bloodpact.

Suspense For twenty years she has been in hiding -- now she emerges to reclaim her life -- and inheritance, even if she has to kill her own brother to do so. I like how the author's brain works loop holes between reality and the unknown or theorized world good strong beginning. Fantasy A prominent Miami Attorney travels through time to right the wrongs of history, and often does so with grave consequences to, and sometimes, to the detriment of, her caseload, reputation, and personal relationships.

Rayne sounds like an incredibly tough and intelligent woman with a lot of social savvy that helps her in both her time-bending assignments and her legal profession.

I must admit she had me consulting my dictionary a few times to brush up on my vocabulary do a very good job introducing the reader to new characters throughout the novel, showing their attributes and flaws, making them feel very real. And finally the plot development was solid and gives a good framework for future novels.
