I loved every page, and once you get to chapter 9 or so you won't be able to put it down! Now there's pages of complete and utter epicness. It's just a shame more people don't know about this book, Ian Somers really has potential here!

Come on guys - you should honestly read this! And if you don't, you're really missing out! Dec 25, Tomek rated it it was amazing Recommends it for: I started to read this book at 1am. I was half way through it when I realised it was 4am in the morning. I really didn't want to finish because I was so curious of what is going to happen next.

Although I decided that I need some sleep. I woke up at 2pm, I ate something and at 3pm I started reading from where I finished. I was finished the whole book by 6pm and I was so disappointed that it was over. If I only had the second book with me, I would have started reading it straight away because now I started to read this book at 1am. If I only had the second book with me, I would have started reading it straight away because now I'm going to lose motivation until the time I get the second book.

I'm not the type of a reader. I could count how many books I have read in my life on the fingers of my hands. Not only I am very proud of myself that I read a book in just 6 hours, but I also really enjoyed it! I would never have thought that someday I'm going to read over pages in just 6 hours! Reading a comic seemed already boring for me! Althought I think it was the matter of me becoming a little bit more mature. I read 2 books this month and Million Dollar Gift was one of them. I'm actually thinking if the fact that it took me only 6 hours to read Million Dollar Gift, doesn't that make me like it more than The Hunger Games?

I'm still trying to come up with an answer to this question. I think I will have to read "The Hidden Gift" in order to fidn out.

Now, what did I like about Million Dollar Gift? English isn't my first language so the use of simple and everyday words really made this book easy to read for me. I love the way the book is set in modern times. Mentioning of social media like facebook and youtube made me feel like at home. The fact that Ross was just an ordinary kid. I love anything to do with telekinesis which was the reason I picked this up and whilst it really was great, the plot, the action, I almost didn't read it because of the main character, Ross. He was rude, self obsessed, obnoxious, thought he was the world and more and so big headed. His humour was so frustrating and the way he couldn't speak normally without some annoying quip.

I continued readin This was a really adventure and action fuelled book with funny moments mixed with quite scary parts. I continued reading hoping he would maybe change as it went on but no he stayed the same. Luckily the action and plot were fantastic and I read the whole thing pretty quickly. The action was exciting though I felt he should have destroyed the enemy not who did I also didn't like how it kept changing tense, it's a first person book but kept going to the third person which was frustrating.

Those are my only complaints however and just my personal opinion, I thoroughly enjoyed the book, just not the main character. I read a wide range of books for different ages but maybe this was more for younger readers, Dec 29, Kalilah rated it liked it Shelves: No, really; what more could you want? Although it's a long book, which to me usually suggests a boringly drawn-out story, it's really a rather quick read because of the engaging, unpretentious narrative and the constant moving forward of the plot.

I really liked the way the author chose to reveal a lot of secrets and feed the reader information - it's fun and quite original. Overall, I enjoyed this book a lot for the most part - but I did feel the author's love for a laugh got in the way of what could have been great 'serious' scenes, and some characters were so common I could almost smell the fumes of recyclement that clung to them.

This review was first published on - my blog Somer's book has a sleek cover and a table of contents with chapter names and not just chapter numbers. That may seem like a nerdy thing to say, but it is true. The formatting of this book is beautiful.

But, O'Brien Press books always have great formatting. It's easy to see if you'd like this book just by the table of contents. Running out of time. Skeleton in the closet. Funeral for a friend.
