Thinking Of You Katy Perry. Comparisons are easily done Once you've had a taste of perfection Like an apple hanging from a tree I picked the ripest one I still got the seed You said: They are just another breed of dumbness and I'm having a really hard time reading it because it so infuriating.

Her best friend was right, she was a sad cow and stupid to boot. She actually bought the idea that he preferred her over her best friend. There shouldn't have been a comparison shag to begin with! Oct 14, Heather T rated it really liked it. I really liked how things wrapped up for the various characters toward the end of the book - there weren't a lot of loose ends, and in a day of trilogies and series, I really appreciate books that stand on their own.

Then I really enjoyed the parallel plot lines between mother and daughter. There's also a lot of fo Cute story. There's also a lot of forgiveness in this book - perhaps some might not believe that we are capable of that much forgiveness, but long-term friendships should be able to get through anything. I appreciated that messaging as it has made me consider some of my own personal Bottom Line Enjoyable romp with some very cute scenes and a fun plot, but lacked true laugh-out-loud moments.

A charming and delightful story. Thinking of You is a multigenerational, community-based story centered around Ginny, an empty-nester, and her daughter, Jem, a freshman in college, and how they adjust to the changes in their lives. An assorted cast of quirky minor characters add to the humor from the playboy ex-husband, Gavin, to the sexy strumpet best friend, Carla, to the neurotic new roommate, Laurel. Ginny has several false starts in finding a new relationship, a new job, and a life without her daughter.

Meanwhile both mother and daughter are duped, learn lessons, and come out triumphant at the end. There is a series of love affairs that are on and off again, but Ginny finally finds her heart in the most unlikely place. This book is laced with laugh out loud humor as well as a few heart tugging disappointments. The funniest scene was when Ginny is caught in her boss's bedroom with twenty condoms stuck up her bra. Not going to tell more, except you have to read it to get it.

Jan 05, Els rated it really liked it.

Mansell brings us many HEAs and personal growth.

Thinking Of You, a song by Katy Perry on Spotify

First we have Ginny, divorced, working here and there and about to be home alone as her daughter Jem is leaving for uni. She is not happy and there will be a few mistakes on the way. But as this is a Mansell book there will also be happiness and hers will be in the form of love. Jem, her 18 year old daughter will also find herself during this year and make her own mistakes. But some mistakes have to be made.

Then we also have Ginny's best friend Clara, and Laurel who I will not say more about now. Clara is forward, and Laurel is sad. Ginny's ex husband also makes an appearance, yes they were clearly not suited together and there is a man hiding in the shadows for Ginny. I was happy about that. There is romance, friendship, personal growth and the search for happiness.

It's a feelgood book, but then it's a Mansell book and I would have been surprised if it had not ended with a smile on my face. Thinking of You by Jill Mansell is another romp in the English countryside. Mansell has an uncanny way of bringing together the most divergent plots, weaving in secondary characters that are just as fun and hopeless as the main character. While her books generally have happy endings and wrap-up relationships pretty neatly, they still provide a few hours of escape that can lift any mood.

Read the full review: Feb 04, Beth rated it liked it. Good quality fluff from the queen of chicklit. Jill Mansells books are one of my guilty pleasures in life. Her characters are well drawn if in places a little overblown where does all the money come from?! A roaring read - plenty of laughs and farcical moments and in this one, a deceptively easy looking plot. I was impressed with the amounts of twists and turns this one took, and enjoyed it all the more for it. May 23, Lynn rated it it was amazing.

This is the second of Jill Mansell's books that I have read. They are fun and fast to read. I enjoy the characters in her books. They are people that you would want to know and have lives that aren't always perfect. A happy, fairy tale ending isn't always a bad thing. Sometimes it is nice to have some escapism when reading. I will be looking for more books by this author. Nov 11, Annemarie rated it it was amazing.

Nov 03, Stacy rated it did not like it. You would think that with over ratings and an average rating of over 3, that this would be a good book. To be honest, I don't even know why I finished it. Heerlijk boek voor de zomer, typisch moeder en dochter dingen en leest heerlijk weg. Jul 29, Eve beinguniquebooks rated it it was amazing.

Meanwhile, Jem falls for a rich, arrogant fellow university student who cares more about casual sex and getting wild every night at parties rather than being a loving partner like she wanted Ginny's new roommate soon causes her a lot of stress but said roommate's brother may be about to change her life while her ex tries to get her back after playing out his flings for so long Finn likes Ginny until his ex Tamsin returns with baby Mae after they left with a rich Italian man they come back to him whilst he may have fallen for Ginny by now This book was another brilliant one by Jill and I loved every second of reading it.

I personally liked the twist at the very beginning where Carla first meets the two main men to come into her life and we could feel something would bring them together some way after she opens up to them both. In Europe, the song received moderate success. The song debuted at number 63 on the UK Singles Chart. 6. The first music video was released in and surfaced on YouTube in May The video features Perry in two rooms: In the dark room, Perry smokes a cigarette as a man dressed in a suit sits beside her. Soon after, another woman enters and pushes Perry off to the side. Back in the white room, Perry sips red wine as her lover undresses beside her, while Perry's hands are wet with blood and there is blood on the bedsheets.

The video ends with the revelation that Perry stabbed her lover in the white room in the back, as she sings tearfully while covered in blood before the shot spans to the side, showing the knife on the floor. The video uses a cross-cutting technique that compares the two relationships. Perry stated that the aim of the video was never to get a commercial release , but that it is just a simple video "made by a friend".

Perry revealed on her blog that she had already started filming a second and official music video in the first week of December , directed by Melina Matsoukas. The video premiered exclusively on iTunes on December 23, Perry is clearly unhappy with her new partner and longs for her deceased lover as she looks at a photograph of him.

Perry reminisces back to a bicycle ride with him, and looks out of her window to see a vision of the two of them laughing outside. Perry's current boyfriend approaches her and kisses her while she remembers a picnic with her former lover, as well as a trip to a lake.

In another flashback, Perry slow dances with her former lover at a bar before emotionally waving goodbye to him before he goes to war. While Perry's new love kisses her, she imagines her old lover at a battlefield, being shot and clutching his chest.

In another scene, Perry is tearfully applying makeup and putting on a funeral veil, and in another she is opening a letter informing her that her boyfriend has died in battle. After applying dark makeup and dressed in funeral attire, Perry walks out of her house to attend her dead lover's funeral.
