A life for a perceived injustice. Just saying it as it is. As you will see once you delve into this story.. To resist temptation to at least look twice at a man that would make any woman's mind go blank and panties drop. I can even say that from the way he talks and thinks leaving the looks to the side for just a moment I too, like Lyssa, would mentally drool over this type of creature. As hard as it was for Lyssa to admit, he is her last saving grace. In more ways that one but more importantly, keeping the dangerous stalker away from her. No matter what the costs I can give you your life back; it's up to you if you want to screw up your best chance at that.
If Colt gets that girl you know he'll protect her body with his life. He's a protective sonofabitch. When all your choices are taken away from you - unwillingly - you can't expect to be able to breathe properly let alone think that your life will be all bright colours and at least a glimpse of a rainbow. But, you always have that little bit of faith and trust and the last remnants of control.
Well, as normal as it can be considering all the events that happen within Lyssa's attempt to get rid of "him", the stalker. It doesn't even follow the speed limit, just keeps on going at it's own frantic pace. Not giving a shit about our emotions.. D As dark as it was, both mentally and physically, it also had so much humour, passion, intellect, sexiness, blushing moments, question mark moments and everything else in between. And I seriously mean every part. I love books for different reasons. In the same way, I give the highest mark or reviews to books that are often completely different from one another.
That's the best part about it. I can love one book for one reason, and another for something else. It opens up my eyes to aspects that I never knew I'd be falling for and parts about my thinking that I never really knew I would be interested in. Scarlett Finn is honestly a talent that I would look to read her books for as long as she so willingly can write. In this book alone, she was able to master a way of making the reader understand the characters personality, mindset, decisions, bad choices and even aspects that you wouldn't expect the character to make?
The writing style is simple yet complex. Frightening at times and even scary BUT if anything the love element was a versy strong part that played well with trust.. Betrayal but trust as well. Passion but arguments all over the place. But, it wasn't the main aspect. Passion was there, at full force, and so was trust, control and freedom. It was easy to fall for this story and every part of the characters that made it one of my favourite books now. I can happily say that I will definitely be recommending this book to every one that I stumble across.
The Risk of Heaven by Bob Berger - FictionDB
Overall, I can't find a fault. Hmmm I was trying to think of one when preparing to write this review but I really couldn't. Well, maybe I would have liked Lyssa to have been more careful with what she did when Colt wasn't there to protect her but the title wouldn't have certain words in it without every aspects of a risk being thrown in there.
Every part of the story that you'd think you would say "She's so stupid. Why would she leave the door unlocked when there's a stalker on the lose? Well, I did, so whether you will too is another story. Read the book and let me know? We can discuss all the fine things that this story bought Or you know, every detailed inch of Colt fucking Warner.
Where do I get one and can I please have my very own Mr Warner? Please and thank you! Enjoy the story and make sure you have a couple of hours free or at least with no disturbances. That's always the worst part about reading an additively good guilty pleasure story! Your pleasure will be delivered by me, in every way imaginable. Sex will be part of your everyday diet and I guarantee you that I'll deliver each and every time. Colt and Lyssa have just made my favorite new couple list! When Lyssa Cutler has exhausted all avenues in order to catch her stalker she makes an unconventional agreement with a man known as Trapper.
Colt Warner has a special set of skills that makes him the ideal man to help Lyssa with her stalker predicament. But in order for them to work together, Colt demands that they keep things "professional". Lyssa, on the other hand, has no such requirements. As the stalker's behavior escalates, so does Colt and Lyssa have just made my favorite new couple list!
As the stalker's behavior escalates, so does the passion between Lyssa and Colt. When these two finally give into the feelings they have for one another things get explosive. This is the heat and passion readers have grown to love from Scarlett Finn's novels. What I love about this book is how well Scarlett Finn incorporates comedy into the situation.
It's rare that you find a romantic suspense novel with such a sense of humor. I really hope that this series continues and we are able to learn more about the Warner brothers. Jul 24, Jeanette Book-Reviews rated it it was amazing. This is my 1st book of Scarlett's books, I can honestly say it wont be my last!!! From the 1st page, it's really gripped me to turn to the next page, I'm not gonna give the whole story away This is where Trapper comes into the picture, I have to admit that name puzzled me till I read on and I've not heard a nickname called 'Trapper' but you will see why I absolutley love the Warner brothers, they really do make me laugh out loud when they rip into one another but SO loyal to each other!
Colt is a knight in shinning armour, dealing with some issues of his own!! He's my kinda guy!! The twists in this story just keeps on coming to the point where I think 'Yes I know who's the stalker' but I'm wrong. Wasn't impressed at all Once its was fully charged I was right back into it! Honestly you wont be disappointed when you read this amazing story, keeps you on your toes guessing whats going to happen A story where the heroine is smart and sexy and does not play games when she's attracted to a man. Lyssa Cutler is a therapist who has a stalker. However she's having a hard time convincing the police of that fact and they won't be able to help her until it's probably too late.
A sympathetic cop puts her in touch with Colt Warner to help her out. Colt is hot and a little dangerous and Lyssa will not hide the fact that she's attracted to him.
She tells him all he has to do is say the wor Finally! She tells him all he has to do is say the word and she's willing to have sex with him. Their relationship progresses without angst but there is tension as the stalker gets bolder and Lyssa's best friend abandons her. Will Colt be able to identify and the stalker before it's too late? This is a great story and we even get a cameo of my favorite characters from Scarlett Finn's Explicit series. Something just didn't work as intended. The banter and overall chemistry between all the characters should have been witty and clever but just fell flat.
I really didn't care for the heroine that much. She was direct and independent, both good qualities but her doctor persona was just too overwhelming at times and I thought she came across as a bore. I know others will rate this much higher but for me it was ju 3. I know others will rate this much higher but for me it was just okay. I don't think I'd read anything else in this series.
I received this book for an honest review. This was th r first book that I have read from this author. I am so glad that I read this. This book had it all, murder, mystery, suspense, love, and those sex scenes, OMG!!!! Lyssa is a doctor that specializes with sexual issues. She is being stalked. Flowers being left and phone calls. The cops will not do anything to help, until one suggest she go to Risque and ask for Trapper. Trapper, aka Colt, and ex-policeman, is skilled at taken care of Lyssa's p I received this book for an honest review. Trapper, aka Colt, and ex-policeman, is skilled at taken care of Lyssa's problem.
Colt has his issue with how police take care of stalkers. You can just tell the connection that they have.
Colt is hesitant to act on his feelings, using the excuse that she is a client. Lyssa is pretty much throwing herself at him. She finally wears him down after they run into a problem at the club. Colt is still working to find her stalker. Patients of Lyssa are being murdered. You meet Colt's brothers in this book.
They are some interesting characters and can't wait to read their stories. Lyssa's best friend Suzette is a little firecracker at times. She is with her fiancee Pete. Pete doesn't want her around Lyssa whole everything is going on. Seeing how everything came together in the end was a bit shocking. I was thinking that it was someone else and boom, it hits you. You have no clue why and to read why he was stalking, it just hits you. Lyssa Cutler is a divorced therapist specializing in sexual dysfunction, most of her patients are men.
Jan 01, Sheena Roberts rated it really liked it. Jul 03, B rated it it was amazing. Loved Colt and Lyssa's story. Oct 05, Laney Smith rated it really liked it. I was given a copy of this work in exchange for an honest review. Finn requested a story review only. This story starts out in the middle of a frightening situation. The main character, Lyssa, and her friend, Suzette, are pleading with law enforcement for assistance with someone that has been stalking Lyssa.
Suzette is a friend that, when she is introduced, is vocal and boisterous.

She wants to insure that the police are looking after her friend. After feeling like they have hit a brick wall I was given a copy of this work in exchange for an honest review. After feeling like they have hit a brick wall with the traditional route, an officer steps outside of his duties and sends the women to speak with "Trapper. However, he has taken on the arduous task of keeping watch over Lyssa.
As parts of the story start to unfold, new stories are constructed. The author did an amazing job of telling the story. She was very thorough with details and descriptions. There were several points where I could visualize the setting and it made this fun story even more entertaining. I also appreciate the author's writing style and her ability to draw the reader in. The following may contain spoilers. Scarlett Finn does an awesome job of pulling the reader into a world that is typically frowned upon. With Lyssa's position in terms of livelihood she does something that you wouldn't expect someone in her position to do.
And, Lyssa's reason for doing this so willingly is an almost genius tie-in to the main story. But, the fact that this "second job" helps build so much of the rest of the story is impressive. The ground work is laid to plant seeds and build suspicion for who the "bad guy" would be by the end of the story. Unfortunately, I had that figured out pretty quickly, though I expected a twist that would surprise me.
Challenge yourself and see if you can figure out "who-dun-it" I was curious to see how Ms. Finn would tie this story up. I was not disappointed. This author is clever! When the curtain draws to a close, the endng is well written and the novel picks up a little speed, adding a lot of intensity to an already intense situation.
I give the author kudos, however. The "hero" that saves the day wasn't what I expected. So, that was an interesting surprise. The stalkers motive was also unexpected. I like it when an author can pull one over on me. Scarlett Finn does just that. This is very impressive, considering I'm not easy to surprise. Overall, I feel the characters are interesting.
