Hardcover in blue cloth boards with gilt pictorial design stamped on the front cover. First American trade edition, second printing, with B on the copyright page. Book is in fine condition, crisp and clean, with tight binding and sharp corners. Tips of corners have a whisper of wear. Inked ownership name and date March neatly penned onto illustrated front free endpage Julia Eveleth Haskell, daughter of Fitch Harrison Haskell, a prominent Pasadena architect of the era. Contains seven color plates by Arthur Rackham: Covers slightly soiled and faded, corners bumped, some foxing to edges.

All full color, full page plates present with opposite page captions. Original blue cloth with gilt lettering and Rackham decoration on upper board. Spine is darkened and worn at ends but without loss of cloth. Corners bumped and binding is stained and worn overall.

Narrow dampstain at bottom of first and last few pages not affecting text or illustrations. Foxing on preliminaries and title page and opposite full color plates. Tipped in full color frontispiece and 6 other full color illustrations as well as many black and whites. A fine example of Rackham's art.. Contents unmarked and very clean no foxing. Endpapers tanned, and neat gift inscription to front fly. Quarto, in the original binding of light orange cloth, decorated and titled in red.

The boards are firm and bright with faint soiling; the spine is almost completely faded, and is puckered at the ends. A very nice copy with a faded spine. Ships with Tracking Number! Internally In good condition with slight foxing only on the first 2 pages. The outer spine cover has a tear at the bottom as you can see in the photographs. A great copy of a wonderful book. Published by Dial, , first edition with the 50 Color plates by Rackham. This book is in very good condition with no writing or markings anywhere with the exception of a neat note of the owner on the inside cover.
