The jerk didn't even have the decency to get his wife from jail. And their best friends cheating on each other all the time and the other spouse knew about it. Why would you want friends like that??? This relationship had no chance in hades to make it. All I can say is that once I had found out that Jamison actually cheated on Kelly there were absolutely no redeeming qualities in him what so ever. So his grovel to make up for the heartache was no where it should have been. I personally would have Kelly divorce him and find some one better. But I guess that is in book two but I will not waste my time with it.
The writing was ok but the HEA is so unbelievable especially if you read what happens in book 2. Jan 05, Ama Major rated it liked it Shelves: I loved this book. My first time reading this author and it was great. I loved the love Kerry and Jamison had for each other but I hated how dramatic their mother's were. The mistress was pitiful and I felt no sympathy for her. I wanted Kerry to strangle her lol.

Over all it was a nice weekend read. Mar 06, ConSonia rated it liked it. I felt that the main character Kerry was spoiled, selfish, and stupid at times. She had no clue on how to b a wife to husband Jamison who was all about care for her never concern about how he felt r how she put down ever effort the man made. Now not condoning his affair but she had a good busband who do any and everything for her. Aug 15, Sophie Sealy rated it really liked it. I didn't know what to expect since the previous reviews were not great but I enjoy the story.
It took some time to appreciate the writer's style of writing but I get it however I can admit that some won't. Okay, I made it this far and was going to read 'til the home stretch, but I read some of the reviews.. This has a second and third book about poor ol' Jamison and how he is effing around? You have got to be kidding me. I read this thinking it was a standalone and I cannot finish this knowing that Jamison does this again and again. I was very annoyed with Jamison blaming the cheating on Kerry. Give me a break dude.
He chose to eff around and his mother needs a reality check. I cannot believe this crap. I felt that the writing and characters were trying to make it seem like 'Oh poor Jamison, your wife hires maids and does nothing around the house, how dare her not pay you back for keeping a roof over her head and buying her nice things' Eff that crap. Even her own family her aunt wasn't on her side. They all need a good therapy session and slap in the face.
Let me tell you right now, my husband ever even thinks about putting his man parts in someone else, he has another thing coming. Jamison got off easy compared to how I would react.
Kerry's family just tells her she isn't good enough for Jamison and pretty much deserves what he did to her. Oh and little Miss Coreen. I got so angry with these characters and after reading the reviews about there being more books, I'm out. I'm going to envision my own ending for this book where Jamison is not made out to be a poor little baby and Kerry is not made out to be some spoiled little brat that deserved to be cheated on.
No one deserves to be cheated on, IDC who the hell you are. Jan 02, Natasha rated it really liked it Shelves: This story dug deeper and showed the human side that lie beneath the tough exteriors we all view. How what appears to be packaged pretty isn't always as it seems.
It really shed light on the many layers that make us who we are, good and bad, and how it usually takes someone else too point out these flaws for us to address them or to just realize that about one's self. I didn't know how it would truly unfold with secrets being let out, meddling mothers who despise their in- l Very emotional read.
I didn't know how it would truly unfold with secrets being let out, meddling mothers who despise their in- laws. It was very messy on the well off and not so well off side. Showed having money doesn't mean you're happy and without problems. Good story, I loved Kerry Ann and was rooting for her to find herself and resolve her inner and outer demons. See a Problem?
This book was ok. It took me a while to read because it was so mediocre but its really not a long book. I was more into it at the beginning. At the end I started to loose interest in it a little. I felt like the problems they had in their marriage were broken down and talked about over and over again; redundant. Then when it came to the hands on hows of how their marriage issues were resolved, like with their mothers, we never were involved with how they were checked about their unsupportive bad This book was ok.
Then when it came to the hands on hows of how their marriage issues were resolved, like with their mothers, we never were involved with how they were checked about their unsupportive bad behavior. I just kind of felt let down by the small crescendo of a plot. I got this book at a library book sale so it was a cheap risk no feelings were hurt here, whatever Jul 01, Kesha rated it it was ok. This book was just ok. I wish it didn't switch between the past and present, it was a little confusing. Both of the mothers were out of pocket, especially Jamison's mother. His mom actively tried to ruin his marriage and almost succeeded, true Jamison didn't have to cheat but mom is not supposed to find you a side piece and scheme behind your back either.
I was hoping Coreen, the side chick, died in the end. I didn't really like any of the characters except, Aunt Luchie and Tyrian, the baby. I'm This book was just ok. I'm not going to read any other books in this series. May 09, Karen rated it really liked it. I met a woman in the library stacks who recommended this author. It was a great deal of fun listening to this book, read by Simi Howe. Atlanta's black elite families in a murder mystery, with a couple or three ex wives and lots of intrigue.
Giuliani claimed to have been at the Ground Zero site "as often, if not more, than most workers I was there working with them. I was exposed to exactly the same things they were exposed to. So in that sense, I'm one of them. This contrasted with recovery workers at the site who spent this much time at the site in two to three days. When Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal suggested that the attacks were an indication that the United States "should re-examine its policies in the Middle East and adopt a more balanced stand toward the Palestinian cause", Giuliani asserted, "There is no moral equivalent for this act.
There is no justification for it And one of the reasons I think this happened is because people were engaged in moral equivalency in not understanding the difference between liberal democracies like the United States, like Israel, and terrorist states and those who condone terrorism. So I think not only are those statements wrong, they're part of the problem.
Giuliani has been widely criticized for his decision to locate the Office of Emergency Management headquarters on the 23rd floor inside the 7 World Trade Center building. Those opposing the decision perceived the office as a target for a terrorist attack in light of the previous terrorist attack against the World Trade Center in In May , Giuliani put responsibility for selecting the location on Jerome M. Hauer , who had served under Giuliani from to before being appointed by him as New York City's first Director of Emergency Management.
Hauer has taken exception to that account in interviews and provided Fox News and New York Magazine with a memo demonstrating that he recommended a location in Brooklyn but was overruled by Giuliani. Television journalist Chris Wallace interviewed Giuliani on May 13, , about his decision to locate the command center at the World Trade Center. Giuliani laughed during Wallace's questions and said that Hauer recommended the World Trade Center site and claimed that Hauer said that the WTC site was the best location. Wallace presented Giuliani a photocopy of Hauer's directive letter.
The letter urged Giuliani to locate the command center in Brooklyn, instead of lower Manhattan. In January , an eight-page memo was revealed which detailed the New York City Police Department's opposition in to location of the city's emergency command center at the Trade Center site. The Giuliani administration overrode these concerns. The Commission noted that the radios in use by the fire department were the same radios which had been criticized for their ineffectiveness following the World Trade Center bombings. However, the radios were recalled in March after a probationary firefighter's calls for help at a house fire could not be picked up by others at the scene, leaving firemen with the old analog radios from Hamilton , Without Precedent: An October study by the National Institute of Environmental Safety and Health said that cleanup workers lacked adequate protective gear.
Giuliani gained international attention in the wake of the attacks and was widely hailed for his leadership role during the crisis. This was a dramatic increase over the 36 percent rating he had received a year earlier, which was an average at the end of a two-term mayorship. We would have come together if Bozo was the mayor", said civil rights activist Al Sharpton , in a statement largely supported by Fernando Ferrer , one of three main candidates for the mayoralty at the end of Giuliani was praised by some for his close involvement with the rescue and recovery efforts, but others argue that "Giuliani has exaggerated the role he played after the terrorist attacks, casting himself as a hero for political gain.
Cannato concluded in September He left a city immeasurably better off—safer, more prosperous, more confident—than the one he had inherited eight years earlier, even with the smoldering ruins of the World Trade Center at its heart. Debates about his accomplishments will continue, but the significance of his mayoralty is hard to deny. Giuliani initially downplayed the health effects arising from the September 11 attacks in the Financial District and lower Manhattan areas in the vicinity of the World Trade Center site.
In the first month after the attacks, he said "The air quality is safe and acceptable. By the end of the month the USGS reported that the toxicity of the debris was akin to that of drain cleaner. Instead, the city left this responsibility to building owners. Giuliani took control away from agencies such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency , the Army Corps of Engineers and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration , leaving the "largely unknown" city Department of Design and Construction in charge of recovery and cleanup.
Documents indicate that the Giuliani administration never enforced federal requirements requiring the wearing of respirators. Concurrently, the administration threatened companies with dismissal if cleanup work slowed. She stated that she believed that the subsequent lung disease and deaths suffered by WTC responders were a result of these actions.
In February , the International Association of Fire Fighters issued a letter asserting that Giuliani rushed to conclude the recovery effort once gold and silver had been recovered from World Trade Center vaults and thereby prevented the remains of many victims from being recovered: Since leaving office as Mayor, Giuliani has remained politically active by campaigning for Republican candidates for political offices at all levels. Bush for re-election by recalling that immediately after the World Trade Center towers fell,. Without really thinking, based on just emotion, spontaneous, I grabbed the arm of then-Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik, and I said to him, 'Bernie, thank God George Bush is our president'.
Similarly, in June , Giuliani started a website called Solutions America to help elect Republican candidates across the nation. After campaigning on Bush's behalf in the U. When suggestions were made that Giuliani's confirmation hearings would be marred by details of his past affairs and scandals, he turned down the offer and instead recommended his friend and former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik. After the formal announcement of Kerik's nomination, information about Kerik's past—most notably, that he had ties to organized crime, failed to properly report gifts he had received, had been sued for sexual harassment and had employed an undocumented alien as a domestic servant—became known, and Kerik withdrew his nomination.
This bipartisan ten-person panel, of which Giuliani was one of the members, was charged with assessing the Iraq War and making recommendations. They would eventually unanimously conclude that contrary to Bush administration assertions, "The situation in Iraq is grave and deteriorating" and called for "changes in the primary mission" that would allow "the United States to begin to move its forces out of Iraq". On May 24, , after missing all of the group's meetings, [] including a briefing from General David Petraeus , former Secretary of State Colin Powell and former Army Chief of Staff Eric Shinseki , [] Giuliani resigned from the panel, citing "previous time commitments".
Giuliani was described by Newsweek in January as "one of the most consistent cheerleaders for the president's handling of the war in Iraq" [] and as of June , he remained one of the few candidates for president to unequivocally support both the basis for the invasion and the execution of the war. The group was on the State Department list from until September They were placed on the list for killing six Americans in Iran during the s and attempting to attack the Iranian mission to the United Nations in Jones , Tom Ridge , and Howard Dean , were criticized for their involvement with the group.
Some were subpoenaed during an inquiry about who was paying the prominent individuals' speaking fees. They supported their position by pointing out that the United Kingdom and the European Union had already removed the group from their terrorism lists. They further assert that only the United States and Iran still listed it as a terrorist group. In November Giuliani announced the formation of an exploratory committee toward a run for the presidency in In February he filed a "statement of candidacy" and confirmed on the television program Larry King Live that he was indeed running.
Early polls showed Giuliani with one of the highest levels of name recognition and support among the Republican candidates. Throughout most of he was the leader in most nationwide opinion polling among Republicans. Senator John McCain , who ranked a close second behind the New York Mayor, had faded, and most polls showed Giuliani to have more support than any of the other declared Republican candidates, with only former Senator Fred Thompson and former Governor Mitt Romney showing greater support in some per-state Republican polls. Giuliani's campaign hit a difficult stretch during the last two months of , when Bernard Kerik , whom Giuliani had recommended for the position of Secretary of Homeland Security, was indicted on 16 counts of tax fraud and other federal charges.
Those expenses were incurred while he visited Judith Nathan , with whom he was having an extramarital affair [] later analysis showed the billing to likely be unrelated to hiding Nathan. He cited Palin's executive experience as a mayor and governor and belittled Obama's lack of same, and his remarks were met with wild applause from the delegates.
Following the end of his presidential campaign, Giuliani's "high appearance fees dropped like a stone. Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner to step down and said that the Obama administration lacked executive competence in dealing with the ongoing financial crisis. Giuliani said his political career was not necessarily over, and did not rule out a New York gubernatorial or presidential bid. On December 23, , Giuliani announced that he would not seek any office in , saying "The main reason has to do with my two enterprises: I'm very busy in both.
On October 11, , Giuliani announced that he was not running for president. According to Kevin Law, the Director of the Long Island Association , Giuliani believed that "As a moderate, he thought it was a pretty significant challenge. At a Republican fund-raising event in February , Giuliani stated, "I do not believe, and I know this is a horrible thing to say, but I do not believe that the president [ Barack Obama ] loves America", and "He doesn't love you. And he doesn't love me. He wasn't brought up the way you were brought up and I was brought up, through love of this country. This is socialism or possibly anti-colonialism.
Giuliani supported Donald Trump in the U. He gave a prime time speech during the first night of the Republican National Convention. In August , Giuliani, while campaigning for Trump, claimed that in the "eight years before Obama" became President, "we didn't have any successful radical Islamic terrorist attack in the United States. Bush administration, which was eight years prior to Obama's Presidency. Politifact brought up four more counterexamples the Los Angeles International Airport shooting , the D.
Giuliani later said he was using "abbreviated language". Giuliani was believed to be a likely pick for Secretary of State in the Trump administration. On January 12, , President-elect Trump named Giuliani his informal cybersecurity adviser. In January , Giuliani said that he advised U. President Donald Trump in matters relating to Executive Order , which barred citizens of seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the United States for 90 days. The order also suspended the admission of all refugees for days.
Giuliani has drawn scrutiny over his ties to foreign nations, regarding not registering per the Foreign Agents Registration Act. In mid April , Giuliani joined President Trump's legal team, which dealt with the special counsel investigation by Robert Mueller into Russian interference in the U. Giuliani said that his goal was to negotiate a swift end to the investigation. Later in May , Giuliani, who was asked on whether the promotion of the Spygate conspiracy theory is meant to discredit the special counsel investigation, said that the investigators "are giving us the material to do it.
Of course, we have to do it in defending the president No matter what it is. Impeach him, and then you can do whatever you want to do to him. In June , Giuliani also said that President Trump should not testify to the special counsel investigation because "our recollection keeps changing".
In mid-August, Giuliani denied making this comment: Additionally in late July, Giuliani attacked Trump's former personal lawyer Michael Cohen as an "incredible liar", two months after calling Cohen an "honest, honorable lawyer. It was reported in early September that Giuliani said that the White House could and likely would prevent the special counsel investigation from making public certain information in its final report which would be covered by executive privilege. Also according to Giuliani, Trump's personal legal team is already preparing a "counter-report" to refute the potential special counsel investigation's report.
After leaving the mayor's office, Giuliani founded a security consulting business, Giuliani Partners LLC, in , a firm that has been categorized by various media outlets as a lobbying entity capitalizing on Giuliani's name recognition, [] [] and which has been the subject of allegations surrounding staff hired by Giuliani and due to the firm's chosen client base.
In June he stepped down as CEO and Chairman of Giuliani Partners, [] although this action was not made public until December 4, ; [] he maintained his equity interest in the firm. In late , Giuliani announced that they had a security consulting contract with Rio de Janeiro , Brazil regarding the Summer Olympics.
Despite a busy schedule, Giuliani was highly active in the day-to-day business of the law firm, which was a high-profile supplier of legal and lobbying services to the oil, gas, and energy industries. Its aggressive defense of pollution-causing coal-fired power plants threatened to cause political risk for Giuliani, but association with the firm helped Giuliani achieve fund-raising success in Texas. Government departments and agencies. Some clients have worked with corporations and foreign governments. Giuliani left the firm in January , [] by "amicable agreement," [] and the firm was rebranded as Bracewell LLP.

On October 26, , Giuliani married his second cousin, Regina Peruggi , whom he had known since childhood. By the mids, the marriage was in trouble and they agreed to a trial separation in Giuliani met local television personality Donna Hanover sometime in , and they began dating when she was working in Miami.
Giuliani filed for legal separation from Peruggi on August 12, Alan Placa , Giuliani's best man, later became a priest and helped get the annulment. Giuliani and Peruggi did not have any children. Giuliani and Hanover then married in a Catholic ceremony at St. Monica's Church in Manhattan on April 15, In , Donna Hanover reverted to her professional name and virtually stopped appearing in public with her husband. On Father's Day of that year Giuliani had told reporters that he was returning to Gracie Mansion to play ball with his son but instead took Lategano to a basement suite in City Hall.
Three hours later Hanover went to City Hall to confront Giuliani, but a mayor's aide prevented her from entering the suite. Giuliani was still married to Hanover in May when he met Judith Nathan —a sales manager for a pharmaceutical company—at Club Macanudo , an Upper East Side cigar bar. By March , Giuliani had stopped wearing his wedding ring.
His First Wife
On May 10, , Giuliani called a press conference to announce that he intended to separate from Hanover. Hours later Hanover said, "I had hoped that we could keep this marriage together. For several years, it was difficult to participate in Rudy's public life because of his relationship with one staff member".
Giuliani moved out of Gracie Mansion by August and into the apartment of a gay friend and his life partner. In May , Giuliani's attorney revealed that Giuliani was impotent due to prostate cancer treatments and had not had sex with Nathan for the preceding year. And I'm very fortunate I had a lot of people who did that, but nobody did more to help me than Judith Nathan. It was also Nathan's third marriage after two divorces.
On April 4, , Nathan filed for divorce from Giuliani after 15 years of marriage. Nineteen years later in April , Giuliani was 55 when he was diagnosed with prostate cancer on prostate biopsy after an elevated screening PSA. When asked if he is a practicing Catholic, Giuliani answered, "My religious affiliation, my religious practices and the degree to which I am a good or not-so-good Catholic, I prefer to leave to the priests.
