This feeling is no stranger to Mindy Deeter, who currently resides in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia with her husband and three children. Having recently overcome homelessness, Mindy quickly realized that she could turn her struggle into a driving force.

One that allows her talent and zest for writing to be the gentle push towards becoming all that she's ever wanted to be; A writer. The first "story" Mindy ever shared was in second grade, when she was asked to describe to her peers what she did over the summer. She bravely stood in front of the class and with complete confidence, began to spin a glorious tale of traveling to Egypt, where her and her father went fishing in the Nile River.

Confident that her peers were convinced, she proudly walked back to her seat and sat down, knowing then and there that one day, she would become a writer.

As a preteen, Miss. Deeter could be found getting yelled at for having one of her many V. Andrews books open at the dinner table. Her titles can be found on various websites, including Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Good reads and more. Mindy is currently creating a spine-chilling thriller, entitled "On the Run" which is sure to bring white-knuckled page turning and heart racing chills. When Mindy Deeter isn't spending time with her family or writing, she can be found crocheting doll dresses, which her daughter is positively thrilled about.

Mindy's husband would say that she could be found in the kitchen, whipping up one of her many delicious Italian dishes that keep him sticking around. That and her undeniable charm, of course.

But I like the freedom books give me, so it would be tough to cram my ideas into three or four panels. I was inspired to write by a Benjamin Franklin quote: Fifth grade was my favorite year. I had a great teacher, Mrs. Norton, who encouraged me to be funny and challenged me to be a better artist and joke-teller than I was.

I liked it that she didn't coddle me. I'm happy that kids are reading.

Kinney's popular Web comic, which began in , makes its way to print as a laugh-out-loud "novel in cartoons," adapted from the series.

Middle school student Greg Heffley takes readers through an academic year's worth of drama. Greg's mother forces him to keep a diary "I know what it says on the cover, but when Mom went out to buy this thing I specifically told her to get one that didn't say 'diary' on it" , and in it he loosely recounts each day's events, interspersed with his comic illustrations. I was very excited when I got the package because my kids love this series and I wanted them to own the books instead of borrowing them. I loved the idea of gifting them a collectible boxed set to keep them neatly displayed and easy to find. Unfortunately I received 10 books inside an opened shrink wrap and no collectible box. I also noticed that the 10th book was different from what is pictured. It came with "old school" instead of "do it yourself book".

So keep these things in mind. You may not get the collectible box for the boxed set and you may not get the same books as you expect. I am 11 years old and I have been reading this series over and over for 4 years! However they are not a challenge or a deep read they are just clever and happy. I chose to write a review on this one because it is my favorite but that applies to all the books. I was lucky enough to have the author visit my school 2 years ago and he said some people don't like his books because they are not deep enough.

As much as reading a deep and challenging story is important what is wrong with something light and funny once and a while. I think that reading is reading and these books will put a smile on your face and there is nothing wrong with that, not only that, they very clever and they have a true story line aside to being silly! I highly recommend for kids or any age above 12 if you eat to read a good laugh out loud story: Davis Author - TattooPreacher.

My 6 year old son began reading "Wimpy Kid" books just as he was learning to read. Many times I would allow him to read before bed and would hear him laughing hysterically in his room. Now, 7 years old, he has read all of them and often will pick them up and read them again. They are silly, but the appeal to his age demographic was actually amazing to me.

I didn't have to make him read And he loved them all. I would recommend the entire series to any parent of a child who is learning and becoming comfortable with reading comprehension. This particular purchase was a gift for a friends son, but I still have my 12 year olds sons book from 4 years ago. It's full of stories to be completed by your child and so funny to look back on when they're older. The hardback is very durable, has held up through a crazy now 12 years old, as the photo shows: I'll be holding on to this forever.
