I liked this much better than the 2nd book in the series. The first book in this Regency Romance series, Thief is definitely the steamiest but this one just had a good story. Although Linus and Rob, share just about everything including on occasion a bed and have been best friends and more since childhood, Linus just can't wrap his brain around the idea that Rob has finally realized that he wants him and only him.
The struggle Linus has and the awkward way Rob goes about trying to convince his friend that he really does want to be with him rings true. I could easily see both their points of view and to watch the inner struggles of both of them was a unique twist. Of course the sex was hot and steamy and the men both gorgeous so that doesn't hurt the plot either. Carina Press April 9, Publication Date: April 9, Sold by: Harlequin Digital Sales Corp.

I enjoyed the other two books in the series read the last one first, and then the first I am a sucker for characters like Oscar who are looking for acceptance from someone for who they are. Oscar had me melting the first time Julian meets him. Half of the book I wanted to smack Julian for this actions. It was expected, yes, but I still hated that it was happening when Oscar so clearly cared for him and vice versa. Ava March's characters are beautifully written and become tangible to the readers.
I felt as if I was right there alongside Oscar, watching him watch Julian ignoring him at the ball. Feeling his pain when he is betrayed. The details in the setting were fantastic as well.

Nothing is left out. I can't say you need to read this series in order, but you do see the different relationships progress as most characters in the book are in the others. But I am glad I finished with this one because I don't think it could get better. I just wish there were more to read about Oscar and Julian. One person found this helpful. I'm not sure I liked this one as much as I liked "Brook Street: Thief" but it was still a good quick read. Still hot and steamy but maybe not as steamy as the Thief was - well at least for me. I liked that the character from the first book was in this one as well, reminding me of the harlequin series that follow different characters in the same group.
The beginning and the end for me were the best and it lost me a little somewhere in the middle but since it was such a short book it was easy to keep going. I think the characters were just not as interesting as in the first book. Impoverished, dashingly handsome, rake scours the season for a wealthy wife.
The twist in this tale is that Oscar becomes the debutante to Julian's cynical quest for the easy buck. Julian's character is redeemed by his efforts to prove himself worthy of Oscar's love. This is another top-notch Ava March regency novel. Originally posted on Goodreads.
I loved Oscar, he was such a character and I thought Julian was a great match for him.
