LETTING THE LION ROAR
Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. You have a few names even in Sardis who have not soiled their garments. They shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments.
You can be sure John felt the force of those words, and the counsel was clear and urgent. I yearn for prophetic unction like this today. His delight shall be in the fear of the Lord: Words that don't contain enough weight to cause the fear of the Lord to strike us are suspect. Even true, positive messages that would cause us to rejoice should still bear the marks of the fear of a most holy God.
Instead of avoiding such sharp messages, the next generation of prophetic warriors will delight in the safety, the plumb line, that is the fear of the Lord. God is ready to bless us beyond measure, and that blessing is even brighter in contrast to what will come to the disobedient. This is the delight that the fear of the Lord produces—the realization that God is full of love and mercy and we can be free from his wrath.
He shall not judge by what his eyes see, or decide disputes by what his ears hear: It's all too easy to gaze upon the landscape of our world and produce supposed prophetic revelation that will capture people's attention. We can't have any more tabloid-style prophecies that capitalize on the current events of our day. Proclaimers are much different than reporters.
We need those who will hear God's voice in secret and proclaim it to the people much more than we need to hear opinion on what is going on in society. Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing! I don't mean this to be a snarky or creative way to end this article. I feel something burning very strongly in my spirit; something extremely simple. While timely rhema revelation must be received, the church must return to confidence in the logos.
The infallible written truth. When timely prophetic words are given to me, I value them highly. However, I don't seek after them. I don't crave them. I only need them when God knows I do. What I do long for is the Word of God, the Bible. I deeply desire for it to explode in my Spirit in fresh new ways. I want God's eternal Word to capture me! I exhort you to dive into the Word of God.
The wealth it contains will transform your new year much more powerfully than a low level prophetic word ever will. Consider some of the following and begin your quest to encountering God through his Word. Take note of the promises and also of the conditions associated with them. Let the Lion roar. May the fear of the Lord delight you. May your new year be marked by the force of the very breath of our mighty God.
Whoever sacrifices a thank offering glorifies Me and makes a way; I will show him the salvation of God" Ps. Now a slave does not remain in the house forever, but a son remains forever. Therefore if the Son sets you free, you shall be free indeed'" John 8: Learn more More Like This.

They may or may not have been. But the driving force behind reformed theology is that Israel's believing remnant are justified through Christ, in the same way that Christ's atoning death is sufficient to justify all believers. This forms the basis of God's single covenant people through history, now made manifest in the church. Frank's view is that were it not for their alleged anti-semitism, the reformers would have thought otherwise, but that's not the case: The second level of deception is to imply that a Christian's faith is incomplete without an understanding of Judaism or the special role of Israel.
The idea that there is something to be mediated to the believer outside Christ is simply the false teaching that Paul decries in Galatians. Moreover, in expounding his views Frank simply butchers the relevant biblical texts with his ham-fisted exegesis. This is clearly apparent in his conception of a One New Man. In the context of Ephesians, Paul presents this as the fulfilled work of Christ bringing Jew and Gentile together as one community of believers.
Frank finds a way of twisting this into a requirement on gentile Christians, as he calls them, to accept the special calling of Israel. I'm as tired of hearing about how the Gentile church is "this, this and that", as I am this condescending tone from my Reformed guys who have great theology but no clue about the validity of all of the nastiness of many men through church history.
Both sides take a pretty privileged attitude on the matter.

Be sober minded and examine things thoroughly, folks. J Porter Gloriously well said- I'm so sick of the ethnocentric judaeolatry of these dispensationalists. Newsflash- not all believers are Jewish! Not all believers are interested or want anything to do with on a theological or personal level Jewish and Hebrew culture!
Some of us just want to get on with our relationship with God, working out our salvation with fear and trembling in the context of our own language, culture and people without bowing to the supposed Hebrew master race get the irony? What one should realize is that "God" created the world in the Hebrew Language. His only son was a Hebrew yes, the very one you need to accept as your Messiah. If their history does not interest you, you are living your own delusion or even dilusion of reality.
After that, if you wanna dialogue further, we can. My gripe is that Evangelical Zionists seem to miss the point and so have many other Evangelicals who have been guilty of varying degrees of antisemitism through church history. Make sure you hear me out completely. He created angels, humans, rocks, trees, Hittites, Jebusites, Israelites, dogs, cats, penguins, and dinosaurs for His glory.
So, please don't shrink him into the son of God who was so crazy about all things Hebraic, or perhaps boosting up all things Hebraic, that he elected them as his chosen people. Read Deuteronomy 7, please? God chose a gentile named Abram, set him apart and formed a nation in order to show how faithful, loving and mighty He is, and ultimately, He did so so that He might bring forth the Savior of mankind, fallen Jews and Gentiles, from a sovereignly chosen group of people who didn't deserve His affection more than any other group roaming the planet.
I hope that you get my point. Did I anywhere state that you go to hell if you don't become a Jew or learn Hebrew? I may be mistaking but it does seem from your reply that you have an inherent dislike in the Jews and anything Hebraic. If that is not the case, then I apologise for the misunderstanding. I was hoping to trigger your interest in the most amazing language on earth - used by the Creator Himself. If you don't find it fascinating, interesting and worth investigating - so be it.
It is much rather expanding than shrinking. Shrinking is taking away; diminishing; removing. How can one shoot down and diminish everything Hebraic while that was the very choice of the Creator Himself? He ultimately designed the language himself before giving it to any human. Abram was an Iraqi. However, setting apart for Abram meant getting a new language Hebrew , a new country Israel , serving a new King - not the idols of his father.
With that in mind, I really want you to understand what my position is on the matter. I, in no way, have disdain for the Hebrew roots of the faith. However, the exultation of the Hebrew roots as some superior enlightenment in contrast the tiny faith of the "gentile church", who're merely a bunch of pagans with barely a foot in the Kingdom.

This is where many show their ignorance of church history as a whole. I have family members who were walked into this matter from a completely one sided view. They came off thinking that every Christian form the second century til now was antisemitic, and then we silly gentiles have nearly destroyed the faith.
They then presented our new hero, the Hebraic Roots. Scripture, that's good, so long as you read it through Jewish lenses. Jesus, so long as you focus on the "Jewish Jesus". The sufficiency of the Holy Spirit to seal and sanctify, so long as the Spirit is the Ruach, and you have a Jewish view of the Spirit and His work.
Do you get my drift? Many have been given a tiny view of church history, this goes for your everyday gentile protestant, as well as many Messianic Jews and proponents of the Hebrew roots of the faith. This is a problem. This what I'm trying to communicate. The Gospel is sufficient, the Savior is sufficient, the indwelling Spirit is sufficient, the word of God is sufficient, and the plan of God to redeem evil people made up of Jew and gentile is sufficient God is not Hebrew. I fear that's what many conclude.
He is stooping low to communicate with fallen human beings. He had to use a language to set His covenant people apart. This does not make Hebrew special, it makes it blessed because of Who set it apart.

We can not elevate gift above Giver. We can not divorce God from His divine nature by forgetting that He has condescended in order to communicate with lowly creatures. Does that make sense? I need to understand the feasts, but only in as much as they are shadows of Messiah who came, reigns and will come again. Are you with me? The author basically assumes there's no validity to any Reformer's "anti-semitism" because this is just more dispensational blah No sooner does he fall off on the left side, does he mount again and fall off on the right.
J Porter Tell me how to engage the context of their quotes when the producer of this nonsense doesn't provide any first hand citations? This film's trailer struck me as another Chris Pinto wannabe conspiracy video. I am so tired of dispensationalists who are more focused on the nation of Israel than Christ.
Wow, this is truly shocking! The arrogance, the disingenuous accusations are truly sobering to see. I am speaking of this "review" and not "Let the Lion Roar". Yes, I agree that the CGI is poorly done, the beards are silly looking. However, how could we expect a reasonable "review" of this work from John Speed. If he rejects the charismata, then he rejects the very premise of the project. When he refers to Frank's vision as a "hallucination" how can we expect a fair review? It goes on to suggest that the quotes are of dubious origin and come from books "with an axe to grind with the Reformers".
While I agree that their bibliography could have been far better, the antisemitism of the "reformers" is well documented. In Martin Luther's book "The Jews and Their Lies" he states "Therefore know, my dear Christian, that next to the Devil you have no more bitter, more poisonous, more vehement an enemy than a real Jew who earnestly desires to be a Jew".
He goes on to accuse Jews of poisoning wells, stealing children and mutilating them. He then says "A person who does not know the Devil, might wonder why they the Jews are so at enmity with the Christians above all others; for which they have no reason, since we only do good to them. They live among us in our homes, under our protection, use our highways, market and streets. Princes and government sit by, snore and have their mouths open, let the Jews steal from their purse and chest, steal and rob whatever they will.

That is they allow themselves and their subjects to be abused and sucked dry and reduced to beggars with their own money, through the usury of the Jews. The "Reformers" were antisemitic one and all. Attack "Let the Lion Roar" as the product of a "hallucination" all you like, but the premise is nonetheless valid.

This review mockingly states " the Reformers did some great stuff but they also said some mean things about Jewish people, and the Holocaust is their fault". The reality is that there is an indelible line between the antisemitism that the Reformers helped entrench in Europe through their influence and teachings and the Holocaust that took place four hundred years later.
