Anderson, Sisters Karen Bice and Wendy Anderson and many nieces and nephews and their families who were all very close to her. Evan Coons and Kevin Smith were a big part of her life as former husband and partner as well at Matt Hendrix, father of her two grandchildren. Anderson preceded her in death. Chris Ann has touched so many lives and was truly a remarkable person. We are confident her one wish would be the kids are taken care of through their high school years. Audrey Irwin, 82 passed away in a nursing home in Salem Oregon on July 7, from complications of diabetes. They migrated to California when Audrey was very young. They eventually settled in Bakersfield for a while and then Arroyo Grande and finally Grover beach. Audrey met her current husband, Eugene A. Irwin in when she came to Butte Falls, Oregon. They were married on April 7, in Ashland, Oregon. They closed the Job Corps center in Her husband resigned from the U.

Forest Service at this time and they returned to Medford, Oregon where her husband started work with the Oregon State Forestry Department. In They transferred to Salem, Oregon. During these years Audrey enjoyed fishing, reading, traveling and especially knitting and crocheting afghans, animals, and dolls. In Audrey worked as a volunteer in the Unemployment office in Salem learning office procedures. She worked there for 12 years retiring in Young, and brother Harlan Rhyne. As a wife of a veteran she will be interred in the V. Cemetery in Eagle Point, Oregon. Assisting the family is the City View Cemetery.

Passed in Peace Saturday, June 30, at the age of Preceded in death by his wife, Rosaline. Loving father of Kenneth. Proud grandfather of Brittany Quentin and Megan. After retiring from his practice, they moved to Salem to be closer to their children. His retirement was short-lived however and he soon began doing tax work with a local CPA firm, working well into his 89th year.

He was preceded in death by our mom in , and grand-daughter Robin in He leaves many friends who loved him dearly. Interment at Willamette National on Monday. She passed peacefully in the presence of family after a brief illness. She moved to Southeast Alaska for many years and lived in Anchorage briefly, where she met and married Earle Beesley before finally settling with him in Woodburn, then Salem, OR. She recently relocated to Arizona from Oregon to be near family.

Peggy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 31 years, Earle Beesley, sister Nora Lee and brother Bill Clarke. Also surviving are six grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren. Peggy was a homemaker for most of her adult life and a wonderful home cook. She enjoyed supporting her husband, Earle, in the many activities and events of the Shriners in fundraising for the benefit of the Shriners Hospital for Children.

In accordance with her wishes, no service will be held. She graduated in While a student she met her future husband Walter DePuy. They were married on February 12, in Minneapolis. Walter and Mabel moved to Salem in April She worked as a registered nurse at Salem General and Salem Memorial Hospitals for 10 years, the last five as a relief night supervisor. In she and her husband established the Walt DePuy Builder and have Realtor company, which they operated until his death in Mabel continued to manage their Ivanhoe Apartments and served as the executive Director of the Salem Apartment House Owners Association for 12 years until her retirement in She enjoyed many activities, especially crafts, reading and quilting.

She was president of the Mission Mill Capital Quilters for several years. She also served as a Campfire Girls and Cub Scout leader. Mabel was preceded in death by her husband in and her son Walter Jr. Mabel was a long time member of Trinity Covenant Church in Salem. Services will be held there on June 1 at Private interment services will be at City View Cemetery.

His acumen in business was only exceeded by his generosity, committing his time and energy to helping those in need. Michael enjoyed being with his dogs, spending time with family and friends, shooting pool, cooking, collecting, camping, travelling, and being outdoors. Throughout his life, Michael faced many great obstacles and overcame them all with champion-like determination.

Michael was dearly beloved by family, friends, his community, and all will deeply miss his strong and compassionate soul. Michael is survived by his mother, Mary E. Weldon was called home to the Lord at the age of 86 years old, on May 5, , when he peacefully passed away with his daughter Susan by his side. In his younger years, Weldon worked on a cattle ranch, then joined the United States Navy, served during the Korean War, and then was honorably discharged.

Weldon worked in construction for many years, as well as a farrier before he became a Realtor. He enjoyed riding horses, roping, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Weldon was preceded in death by his loving wife Reva who passed away in , his parents Elzie and Lounell, and his brother Lawrence. He will be missed by his family and friends who all enjoyed his many life stories.

Bev grew up in Salem where she was spoiled rotten by her step Daddy Bob L. As a young lady she enjoyed all things horses, roller skating and dancing. Beverly was employed as a cook, cashier, waitress and bartender. She retired in from Sprague High School. In retirement she enjoyed traveling with her sister, Donna.

They loved their get-aways to the Oregon Coast.

She enjoyed bowling, reading true crime stories, country music, watching old western shows and movies, think Gunsmoke and Bonanza. Bev was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, Gloria, Alvina and Leona and her granddaughter Christina. Donna passed away Wednesday, march 28, after a sudden decline in health and into the arms of Jesus where she is now doing all the wonderful things she could not do before. Donna was born in Portland, Oregon on Dec. She moved to Portland and lived at the Simpson House until her death. Donna loved going to Oaks Park and riding the Screaming Eagle ride her favorite.

I will miss you my sweet Donna, forever in my heart, until we meet again, I love you. Wilma enjoyed gardening, bowling, watching soap operas, playing bunco and bingo, watching her Atlanta Braves, shopping on QVC, and going out to eat. Wilma was predeceased by her son Ken Davidson, and her sister Nadine Baer.

Emilie lived with and cared for her father until his passing at the age of Emilie then went to Arizona to help her brother, Alvord, care for his wife Ruth for seven years until they passed in an auto accident which Emilie survived. Despite not having the desire or inclination to marry, Emilie still held the matriarchal place in the France family.

Emilie was known for helping others and staying true to her personal beliefs. She will be missed. Interment will be in Aurora Community Cemetery on Monday at Salem - Charles was born, Nov. She was nearly 75 years old. Levi was a genuinely kind, playful, compassionate woman who loved helping others. Her warm smile lit up the room. She was tenacious, pragmatic and eternally optimistic. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, going on bicycle rides, gardening, solving genealogical mysteries and doing volunteer work. In , she married Larry Lohrman, her devoted husband of 50 years. They both worked for Boeing Commercial Division. She enjoyed working with people and getting to know their unique stories.

Levi became well-known within the real estate community for her diligence, honesty and attention to detail. After retiring she, spent her time doing volunteer work, genealogy, bicycling and traveling. She always looked forward to the annual road trips she took with her sisters Jeanne and Katie, and their aunt Mary Jane. Carolyn Panowicz, 74, loving mother and grandmother, of Salem, OR passed away peacefully at home on February 25th, She was born in Covington, KY on September 29, , and traveled extensively with her family for the U.

She landed in Salem and was married to John Panowicz deceased for twenty years. She resided in West Salem. Private interment was in Mt. Crest Abbey of City View Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will be announced.

  • After serving with honors and receiving an honorable discharge in , Pete resided in several northeastern cities before moving to Las Vegas, NV in He worked in the hospitality field until retirement, relocating to Oregon in to be closer to his family. Pete is survived by his son, Michael Joseph, daughter in law, Jackie, and grandchildren Ashlyn and Truman. A private memorial is being held on March 10, in Salem. Her son Brent was born July 4th. She was the Secretary of Salem School District for 22 years with 7 principals. She retired in and traveled extensively.

    She lived on Judson Street, in Salem for over 60 years with her husband of 65 years, Glen. She enjoyed a long happy life. Services will be held at Mary was born September 28, in Pound, WI. She married Arvid Gretzon on July 26, Arvid and Mary moved their family to Oregon in March She was blessed with 16 grand-children and 12 great grand-children. Before retiring Mary worked in food service for Salem-Keizer school District. She enjoyed spending time with family, visiting garage sales, gardening, painting, and reading. Faith was important to her and she enjoyed attending church and reading her bible.

    Viewing will be on Friday, February 16th from SALEM - Jeanette Alexander Pierce celebrated her 89th birthday on Thursday; on Friday she enjoyed lunch with her three children; then early Saturday morning, as she slept, she suffered a massive stroke. Jeanette passed away Sunday, February 4, The family came to Salem, Oregon, when Jeanette was a young teenager.

    She graduated from Salem High School in Jeanette had an optimistic outlook to life with a strong faith in the Lord. Jeanette enjoyed travelling and going for car rides; held her own when playing Bridge; and never tired when she was on the dance floor. She took great pride in her work as a secretary and reveled in having worked with ethical and friendly employers. Jeanette and Norman loved their three children and experienced great joy being grandparents. Jeanette and Norman were married for 47 years before he passed away in A couple years later she married Robert Pierce.

    Jeanette was preceded in death by her two husbands; her parents; brother, Raymond; and two sisters, Marion and Harriet. Jeanette was a kind and generous woman who would always greeted you with a smile. She was a bright light that will remain in many hearts.

    The Wilson and Alexander families extend their gratitude to the staff at Redwood Height Assisted Living Home for their attentiveness and the loving care they shared with Jeanette.     This was nurtured after attending a local carnival sideshow and seeing a magician perform. After acquiring an A. Throughout the s, these early performances were for luncheons, banquets, and various school-related events. After studying piano performance at the University of Oregon from to , he joined the U. Air Force just as the Korean War was ending. It was during this time when his magic career sprung into gear with performances for an all-military entertainment unit. Upon release from active military duty, he worked for a time as a radio disc jockey in stations from Wyoming to California.

    He was also a popular attraction at state and county fairs. His annual show tours took him throughout four western states. Accomplished as a builder of magical effects, he designed, built, and decorated many of his own illusions. He had many adventures in Hollywood, including meeting Harry Blackstone, Sr. Married in August of , they played schools, fairs, and many other venues throughout the Pacific Northwest. By the late s, they were on the cusp of taking their entertaining and classy magic show to a national level. However, having a son Greg in changed that direction.

    Josephine also had a busy career working for the Oregon Department of Education, so working as an assistant occurred only on the side by the s. She had to stop performing by due to a spinal fusion. Max continued to tour with hired assistants, and sometimes on his own. Some road tours during the s went on for weeks, though mostly confined to the NW.

    Max and Josephine divorced in , yet stayed close. He decided to stop doing road tours at this point due to schools no longer having the budgets to book magic shows. Despite this, he continued to perform on a local level. Mostly retired from the magic business by then, he became a tour guide at prominent Salem museums. This included working at Mission Mill Museum as a tour guide from to He returned there in the early s for a time to volunteer.

    Despite emerging health issues, he kept this going sporadically until December of this last year. Max was a long-time member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians. A broken wand ceremony took place on Saturday, February 3, Survivors include his son, Greg, and various cousins living in Washington and Southern California. His friends were many, both in Salem, in the NW, and across the nation.

    This included attending local coffee meet-ups three times a week with former tour guide friends Judith Sutliff and Sharon Whitwer. It also included attending social events with local magician friends like John Edsall. His son, close family, and devoted friends are going to miss him every day. LaVerne grew up on the family farm near Gervais, OR.

    She married Marion Miller July 9, and they lived on several farms in the Silverton Hills before moving to Salem in There they owned a farm raising apples, berries and vegetables. LaVerne enjoyed gardening, walking and crafts. Everyone she met was a friend. Services will be held Thursday February 1st, In lieu of flowers, donations to Willamette Valley Hospice, wvh.

    Robert Rob Stearns, 64, passed away on January 13th after a long battle with cancer. He met and married Amy after his return to the States and returned to school, graduating from UT Arlington with a degree in Criminal Justice. Rob worked as a police officer in the Arlington PD for many years, was instrumental in forming their accident reconstruction unit, and helped to lead it as their Sergeant until Rob, Amy, and their boys moved to Oregon in , where he eventually went into business as an accident reconstructionist until his retirement due to illness last year.

    He is survived by his wife, Amy, two sons, five grandchildren and three brothers. Graveside services with Military Honors will be at Emi Takayama passed away on January 10, in Keizer, Oregon.
