Sin of the Past
Dude it's super nice. I think it dropped after Calus, but I'm not sure that any of the raid loot is encounter-specific. It's a shame we don't have those anymore. They could actually be useful on every Titan subclass now. Nothing is that good, for it was a thing of legend. This is merely good, in such a way that I have failed to find another heavy I liked as much. I used this in Trials on multiple Flawless runs. Combine with Hunter dodge-reload for maximum enemy salt content. But seriously, been hyping this guy up since I saw it drop on raid release, lucky teammates got it.
Same goes for the sword. They seriously took the best perks from the weapons and combined them. Finally got our first full clear last night, first time any of us downed Calus. Me and another guy are pretty salty over it. We went from 2 or 3 phasing calus to killing him in 3 plates because 3 of us have that rocket launcher. Titan barricade will reload it too.

So you can take a huge chunk of all at once. This post is based purely on the adrenaline rush I got when I first pulled the trigger behind my new launcher. One day you will hold it and understand what it feels like to hold pure power in your hands. The white and gold The prose as I was reading it was reminiscent of Powerthirst. I've had this thing for a week now.. What the fuck did I miss when looking at the stats. Also the weapon has really good handling.
One of the few launchers you can ADS and fire in midair easily. The raid AR and RL are both great in my book. The clusterbomb is pretty extensive but I have a pretty strict no-RL rule for close-quarter teamfiring Looking at you, VoG. I want this freaking rocket launcher so bad. Ran 6 raids and nothing. The cocoon perk is ridiculous. Dude you could sell me a toaster and I'd cherish it beyond everything I have ever known. For reals though its a great Rocket Launcher with good splosions.

I think I need to test out my new laptop's audio features and do a read of this. This is just too good to not have an audio version done. One can obtain it as a drop from the raid, as a reward from turning in raid tokens, or from the engram obtained from Hawthorne after your clan beats the raid. I was fortunate enough to get this weapon from dogs on day 1 raid release. It was hard to put into words how amazing it was.
You've done a great job of it! I can't stand the slow velocity on Sin of the Past. You might think that shouldn't be a problem, but it is on a cluster bomb rocket. You see, with cluster bomb rockets, it's better to hit the actual target, not the ground under the target. If you hit the target with a cluster bomb rocket, the cluster bombs will fall around the hit and have a much greater chance of actually doing damage.
If you shoot the ground under a target, the clusters likely will not do any damage at all. With my limited time with the Sins of the Past, I missed my direct-hit targets because they moved out of the way. So yes, the auto-reload while stowed is nice, but the base stats are annoying for the rocket it's trying to be. Curtain Call feels so much better to use. High velocity, low blast radius is what you want in a cluster bomb rocket. We're people arguing that Curtain Call is better than Sins of the Past?
It's basically the same rocket launcher, but it reloads itself and looks cooler! I don't know who you are, but you have a career as the next billy mays with a pitch like that. How was this not upvoted higher. I haven't used it yet but it was my first reward from the raid clan engrams, very happy to have it. I hate when a wannabe mafia book turn out to be a fairy tale retelling and operates with weak characters. I need badass heroes and kickass heroines. The First Sin brings you that.
MODERATORS
This book is something new. This book is dirty. This book is all consuming. This book — well, you want to read it. The First Sin Damn talk about a plot twist!! This was my first Jillian Quinn read and if won't be my last. This book was great, it was action packed, sinfully sexy, and intense. It's not as dark as it's made to be.
Angelo and Gianna both grew up with Mafia families. They have loved each other since they were Their chemistry is hot, their love is fierce. Can these two survive the obstacles thrown their way? That ending damn it I want more. Can't wait for the next book. Gio and Angelo are the Bonny and Clyde of the mafia world. From hell raising teens performing jobs that would make grown men cry to ruthless adults with a thirst for power and wealth. The story leveled out midway resulting in an action filled mafia story!
What an adrenaline rush! Angelo is truly a man of his world! But when enemies arise no one is safe. I voluntarily reviewed this Advanced Reader Copy of this book. The connection between Angelo and Gia was intense and draws you in beginning to end. These two are die hard for one another but all is not what it seems behind the scenes. This is a book should dive into and enjoy without much detail, trust me you will love it!!
I voluntarily read a advanced readers copy of this book Solid start to a new series. The beginning was a bit rough as the author showed the couple from a young age. They are already in love so there was no watching it blossom. It was straight porn in the beginning. I was into it at first but needed more. The author gets her footing and then the real mafia elements took place. I had some issues with the story overall but not enough to stop me with continuing to the next book.
That ending was good. Well, well, well, that was a pleasantly suspenseful surprise. This is my first by this author and a book one in the series. Gia and Angelo have been together forever and during that forever a lot about their lives has changed. Angelo is the youngest member of a mafia family. His father has trained Angelo and his brothers since birth to take of the empire he has created. The training has been brutal and unkind on the psyche. Bu Well, well, well, that was a pleasantly suspenseful surprise.
But Angelo has always had Gia there to remind him that he is not all black and does have some good left in him. Gia was also born into this life, just a different side of it. Her father and Angelo's father are best friends and while her father's hands are certainly not clean, he isn't quite into the dark dealing of the mafia. He is to become a political player and on the outside leads a pretty legitimate life.
Gia has stepped in to help her father's business while he does his political thing, but as she is slowly learning, their business is a lot dirtier that she always thought. And trying to figure out where his loyalties lie could get someone killed. During most of this book there is a war brewing between two families and for the most part, all of the bad things that happen are because of this war. And then things start to not add up. And now the "bad guy" could be anyone and regardless of who it turns out to be, there is bound to be a lot of blood flowing.
And I cannot wait to find out! I liked the flow of this book, it moved fast but the pieces we were given were all important to the overall story. There are some I don't think we know quite where they fit in yet. I liked that I was left with a number of possibilities with no clear answer in site. I liked that Gia was a unique character who relished in the violence and she never waivers from her choices. Angelo is one step away from soulless but Gia keeps him grounded, even though she is a deviant herself. I can't wait to find out what is in store.
All consuming and enthralling I am currently going through a mafia reading spree, and I am always eager to find my next favorite series in the genre This first in a duet is a strong contender The premise is intriguing and the characters who are all morally bankrupt exhibit bonds of loyalty and love that somehow make the inexcusable more acceptable. The relationship between the two main characters Angelo and Gia is both passionate and obsessive; they have been together since childhood All consuming and enthralling The relationship between the two main characters Angelo and Gia is both passionate and obsessive; they have been together since childhood and there is no one else for them The perspective of both Angelo and Gia is provided Angelo and Gia are products of their upbringing both smart, tough and in love This is the first book I have read by this author and I have to say I was completely engrossed in the plot I do have one niggling criticism: I was not a fan of the prologue, which described events that were to play out later on A Bonnie and Clyde kind of love.
Two families connected to the world of crime who were on the same side, until greed split them. In the middle there were two young persons who grew up together, and had loved each other forever. Angelo Morelli was the youngest son, and the one who did the dirty work. His older siblings, Pietro "Peter" and Marco, liked to remind Angelo that as a member of a famous mafia family he could not have weaknesses.
And Angelo had a well-known weakness.
Gianna Carlini had A Bonnie and Clyde kind of love. Gianna Carlini had her father, Lorenzo, a strong ally of the Morelli family. Lorenzo even applied to City Council with the goal of giving Morelli more space to perform. But Lorenzo did not like to see his daughter involved with the youngest Morelli, even if he could do little about it. As Angelo and Gia grow older, they have plans for the future. Angelo would be the first in the family to go to college.
But his work meant that he could devote little time to his studies. Meanwhile, Angelo prevented Gia from getting involved in his work she liked the adrenaline of danger and devote herself to law school. Gia discovers certain aspects within the corruption that would have been better that she did not know, and because of that she becomes a new target for the enemies.
She was Angelo Morelli's girlfriend. She was the daughter of a corrupt politician. She knew too much. But who was the real enemy and who was the hero? This is a dark mafia style Romeo and Juliet story that will draw you in and keep you there and then make you want the next book as soon as possible. Angelo and Gia have been in love since they were little now it seems like their families are trying to keep them apart. What will they do? You have got to read this book.
May 13, Maria Angie Mendoza rated it really liked it. This suspenseful and intense mafia romance took me on one hell of a twisted ride. Insanely entertaining and twisted roller coaster with a massive ending. Intense and raw, The First Sin left me breathless.

Angelo and Gia are well rounded characters. They each have their flaws. When they come together, they combust. They have insane chemistry, and a lot of history between them.
Their love and connection is strong. I was completely sucked into these two. Their relationship is gritty and isn't easy, but their love for each other is. Quinn crafted had me unable to put the book down. It was dark, but not too dark. The First Sin was well written, paced quickly, and left with a cliffhanger that leaves you desperate for the conclusion. Lo and Gias amazing crazy loving story. I need book 2. My heart is still racing. A gritty read that was every bit as enthralling as the blurb led me to believe it would be.
I felt as if I was totally absorbed in the intensity of what their lives brought to the story, the anguish that the pressures of their families brought to bear and the weight of expectation that life continued to exude. I thought the author worked cleverly with the layers of not only story but characters that she created, there was sex and sin and it was all joyfully glorious, but that was partly tempered by an unquantifiable mystery that ran parallel to their connection and of everything that was going on it was that mystery, that uncertainty that piqued my interest most.

As I have come to expect from this author this was written with absolute authority, it cut no corners and gave its characters a storyline that was every bit as extraordinary as they could have hoped for. With more in the series to follow, I would only say that this is one that you will not want to miss. But I needed someone to hear my pleas, have mercy on my soul. Absolve me of my sins. The sins of our past. How did we reach this pivotal point in the story and who are Gia and Lo? Angelo is the youngest sibling in a Mafia family, raised to continue the business and hardened to become a monster in guise of a civilised man by his father.
He is different to his siblings as he has found his grounding and is rooted by his love for Gia and his best friend Sonny. Surrounded by unconditional love from his chosen and his mother Angelo is a misfit in his world. Striving to gain some degree of separation from the family business he fights to go to college and become a lawyer and to protect his love for her.
Seen as a weakness Gia finds herself as collateral in a war she was unaware of. This is a murky story of backhand deals, favours that can only be paid in blood and death. Yet in amongst the violence and cruelty love and loyalty bloom not out of fear or control but because they respect one another and are faithful to their feelings. The ending made me so very happy I had the next book in the series to dive into. A four and a half star sinful read. May 11, Avidez Literaria rated it liked it. Gia and Angelo have known each other forever. It was inevitable that they fell in love. But this is not an ordinary romance.
And this is not a normal couple. Gia and Angelo flirt with the dark side and outlaw. He is an heir to the Mafia. All he knows and all he has been taught is to prepare him for his place in the "family business. And there is no escape. Gia has a "more normal" life. His father is a wealthy businessman, who treats her like a princess, but deep d Gia and Angelo have known each other forever.
His father is a wealthy businessman, who treats her like a princess, but deep down he is not the normal business man, he also has a connection with the Mafia. Gia knows exactly who Angelo is and what he does. And that adrenaline and danger excites her. Their relationship has a Bonnie and Clyde vibe. The book is packed with action and adrenaline. The couple has an undeniable chemistry, and dangerous situations are triggers for the two to celebrate indulging in desire.
Hot scenes are present in the book. Angelo, despite claiming he has no choice, likes the power his position offers him. Killing is not a problem. Only in one situation will you see a more human and hesitant side of him.
Gia is what keeps him centered, acting as his strength, but at the same time is his great weakness. It's what makes him vulnerable, and he knows her protection is essential, because whoever wants to hit him will use her to affect him. In a plot with such controversial characters, no one is safe, everyone is dangerous. The book presents several twists, makes the reader question if everyone is who they appear.
The ending ends in a cliffhanger, leaving you curious to know the conclusion and who will be the great villain. This book is a definite 5 Star mafia book that will leave you guessing, it is raw, it is real and it will make you want to find yourself a made man! Angelo is the son of the boss and has been raised his whole life knowing two things; one is that he has no real Choice is how his life will turn out and the second is that Gianna is the woman put on this earth for him.
Gianna has loved Angelo from the moment when she was 5 and he helped her jump off the swings at school. When she thinks about her future, he is the only consistent thing she sees. When the tragedy hits close to home and secrets are suddenly revealed, trust starts to diminish, plots unfold and everything you thought you knew becomes a lie. Now it is a race against time to uncover the truth and protect those you love. But will they be able to survive when the hits keep coming? You should definitely start reading now so that when the next book comes you are ready.
Angelo and Gianna have cared for one another since they were children, but when you come from opposing mafia families it's darn near impossible to have any sort of a normal relationship, but they have done their best to make it work. But, not without many obstacles being thrown their way
