Ticknor and Fields, Publisher's full leather with elaborate decorative stamping on the covers; raised bands on the spine, gold titles in one panel, embossed decorations in the other panels, stamped in gilt on the raised bands and the edges of the covers; marbled paper end pages with gilt dentelles; all edges gilt. One engraving with some edgewear it had come loose and has been neatly re-inserted in its proper place.
Minor edgewear and rubbing on the gilt on the outside edges of the covers; minimal rubbing on covers. Previous owner's gift notation on first blank page "To Josie from H. Monastery Hill Press for Holiday House. Bound in a Kelligram style full red morocco ruled in gilt with corner gilt holly leaves, central illustration of Bob Cratchit in a dancing pose in colors of black, green and beige, top edge gilt, light wear to spine ends, lacks one of the three front free endpapers.
A very nice copy of this scarce binding.
