Definitely worth a read, especially if you prefer your smokin' hot sex ermagerd! I have a personal issue with the type of dominant sex in this book. Dominance can be incredibly erotic, but the act of withholding fulfillment to the extent this book describes is no longer sexy, in my opinion. Everything else about the book was so well done, and I could see how this book came so close to the mark.

What can I say, I loved this story, loved the characters and the whole storyline.

The erotic scenes were amazing and I felt as I was reading that this could be a movie worth watching. As I read I could play it out in my mind, I loved stories like this. It's a nice and quick read. Two lawyers met as strangers and decided to start a weekend fling. What was supposed to be a simple relationship become a fast falling in love that has complications that wouldn't matter as long as they are together.

2007/08 Season Repertory (Subtitled)

Another Brazen hit for me. I loved Cassie and Brad more as the book progressed. Good Alpha Male who could still bend to meet the needs, figuratively and literally, for the heroine. Maybe it was because it was a one-night stand that was supposed to lead nowhere, but that first encounter did nothing for me. However, as the emotions came into play and they started spending more time together out of the bedroom I came to see how deeply connected they were. They doubted their intentions of continuing their arrangement, questioned their need to be close to each other and overall denied what they were feeling and I enjoyed every little bit of it.

True, I wanted to shake some sense into them, but it was a treat to see how two very determined and ambitious individuals analyzed and pondered each and every other emotion they brought out of each other. My only complaint would be that I would have rather seen more development of their connection and not so much sex.

Yes, I said it! Chemistry does not a relationship make. But taking into consideration that this whole story was based on the fact that Cassie wanted to explore her sensual side and find someone who could fulfill her needs I came to overlook that 'flaw' in the end. All in all, a story abound exploring your limits, acting of getting your needs fulfilled and finding love along the way.

Cassie and Brad are our main characters. Cassie has been widowed for two years and she is standing up for herself after being stifled by her dead husband. I liked that Cassie put herself out there even at the risk of being hurt and finally standing up for what she wanted and needed. Brad is a New York, playboy, lawyer who is influenced by his fathers philandering ways.

Brad is such a great guy, even though they never exchange names that first night, he goes out of his way to give Cassie what she needs and take care of her. Both of these people have lots of emotional baggage to overcome to get their HEA. It was enjoyable to read their struggles and their love story unfold. I have been engrossed in Ms. Claire's other works and I enjoy her writing style. Now, this is mild submission in this book, nothing heavy. Some of the language used seems a little cliche or old fashioned, at least in the intimate scenes, but for me it does not detract from the story Cassie and Brad.

And I will continue to seek out more stories from Tori St. Feb 23, Vickie rated it liked it. This is the first of Tori St Claires books that I have read and I will be reading more in the future. That being said there are some things that have left me feeling a little confused. Cassie Blaire is an attorney, who has finally got what she wants in life.

For the most part. She is moving through life quite comfortably after having spent the past two years getting over the death of her husband, who seems to have been something of a self centred ass. After having been stood up for date she ventures into the restaurant and ends up meeting a man Brad Steele who she decides to take home completely out of her usual character for some anonymous hanky panky.

He warns her right off the bat that he likes things a little kinky and she agrees to his terms. They pass an enjoyable evening, some fun sex ensues, and then things get a little more complicated than they bargained for. Real life gets in the way of the fun and games, and then it all gets way too serious for either of them to handle. Sadly, one half of the couple handles it a lot better than the other and it all goes very pear shaped. I don't really want to go into the plot line too much, because as it goes, its a really lovely plot and that isn't where my issues lay.

It seems almost that a contemporary romance has got muddled in with a very gentle introduction to BDSM book. I really enjoy a juicy book with a heavy dose of BDSM and I have to admit I had thought this was going to have a bit more of a bite to it. However, instead of teeth, it sort of gums you into submission. Brad, who is meant to be a seasoned Dom, doesn't follow the general rules of conduct that you would expect, no safe word or limits discussed especially when dealing with a complete newbie to the scene.

I like Cassie and Brad, and I have enjoyed reading Unravel Me , but I do think it needed more teeth and understanding of the BDSM scene from my understanding of it at least , either that or leave that side of it out altogether and write it as a contemporary romance. I am looking forward to reading more from Tori St Claire, especially if she decides to pursue this genre, but sharper nails, and a bit more bite for me next time please: Feb 15, Monica Cullip rated it really liked it.

Unravel Me Tori St. Claire Cassandra Blaire has been working hard since her husband's death five years ago. She has spent that time turning his criminal law practice into one that is more family law based. Brad Steele is from New York and is spending the night at a bar before heading to the local law firm to co-manage a divorce with the snarky lawyer that works there. He needs to unwind tonight first. He has been working very hard to make partner. It is all he wants. His whole life dream. Two strangers have a drink together. No names are exchanged. It is kind of surreal, like a game, a mysterious encounter. They are hot together, the sexual tension is palpable. And I have neighbours who will come to my rescue if I scream.

He agrees and makes it a night that she will never forget. They wake up a few times during the night for another session. They have breakfast together before reluctanly parting never to meet up again. Oops, we all know where this is going. I would have loved to see her face when he walked in late after stopping to drop off flowers on her doorstep. They live in different cities. They want different things in life. But he makes her feel, something that her husband never did. He considers her wants and needs. She is falling for him quickly.

Is there any hope for them? There is sure to be a few bumps in the road as they struggle to define their relationship. Work will get in the way. Distance will play a factor. Too much is keeping them apart. This book was a nice short read. The story line was a little predictable but I knew that just by reading the blurb. I thought the author did a great job working around it.

The scenes were fresh and exciting. The problems they faced not all expected and predicted. I loved the way he dominated her and brought some kink to her life. Feb 24, LJT rated it liked it. Claire to be an interesting erotic romance. I liked the main characters, private practice attorney Cassie Blaire and corporate lawyer Brad Steele as individuals, but not so much as a couple. Both are independent, career driven people with some baggage that ends up being the catalyst to their future together.

Cassie is a widow and has not been in a relationship since her controlling husband passed away.

Tori St. Claire Gets Brazen with “Unravel Me” (Entangled Brazen) | Sarah Ballance

I found Cassie and Brad's time together a little disturbing because Cassie lets Brad take control of her pleasure, without even getting to know him. Although Brad is a dom-wannabe, he has his act together and knows what he is doing instinctively. However, as time goes on, his emotions play havoc in his mind and he goes a little to far.

Brad's alpha side is extremely hot and sexy. Claire can really create steamy scenes and leave the reader panting. I am a true believer in love at first sight, however, Cassie and Brad's relationship evolved a little too quickly, to the point where I thought it became almost unbelievable.

The book is well-written and I would have enjoyed a little more story in lieu of sex. Overall, a solid read and I look forward to reading more from Ms. ARC provided by Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review. Feb 24, Pam rated it really liked it. Brad and Cassie are two lawyers, who are working concurrently on a divorce case. The divorce is civil, and the couple has agreed to have their two lawyers work together to mutually resolve their differences.

Cassie is a widow, who has her own practice, and is based in Colorado. She is representing the wife. Brad is an up and coming single guy, based out of New York, who is up for partner in the firm he works for. He is representing the husband. Cassie's husband has been dead for two years, and her Brad and Cassie are two lawyers, who are working concurrently on a divorce case. Cassie's husband has been dead for two years, and her secretary keeps trying to set her up with a date. As fate would have it, when Cassie finally says yes, she finds out that she has been stood up.

She stays at the restaurant, having a drink at the bar. She meets a really sexy stranger Brad and they go home together for a night of sexual pleasure. But they mostly Cassie decide to stay anonymous, not giving each other their names. When they go their own way the next morning, imagine their surprise when they find out that they are supposed to be working together on this divorce case! There is a little sexual domination in the bedroom no spanking, whips, chains, gags, etc. But still some domination themes. There is no real "plot" to the book by this I mean no bad guys, drug runners, gun runners, and so forth , it is more the way that they are looking at themselves, and being honest with themselves about what they really want out of life.

Cassie's husband always got what he wanted, and never let Cassie explore her sexuality, something that Brad does with his bedroom domination. This was a sweet read, and an easy read. The characters were believable, and the story line was something that could possibly happen. Oct 03, Under the Covers Book Blog rated it liked it. Feb 20, Chanel rated it liked it Shelves: I have conflicting views on this book.

I liked both of the main characters, Cassie and Brad. I especially liked the story taking place in Vail, Co. The plot is pretty typical, where a couple hooks up for a very hot one night stand, to only find out the next day there are going to be connected through work. I thought the author took a new approach with Cassie's brother-in-law's reaction to his widow sister-in-law entertaining a gentleman, which was I have conflicting views on this book.

See a Problem?

I thought the author took a new approach with Cassie's brother-in-law's reaction to his widow sister-in-law entertaining a gentleman, which was refreshing. Where I struggled, was with the dominance and submission part of this book. Brad was not a real Dom, yet, he was very controlling to the point of being selfish and once even abusive in the bedroom. For all Cassie's complaining about not liking to be controlled, she sure did a in the bedroom.

It really made no sense to me. But for it to be part of their normal sex life, did not match Cassie or Brad's personalities. Plus the scene where Brad goes too far, just was too out of character for him, and it made me mad. I felt readers were being played. Though, the author did manage to get the story back on track and I did enjoy the ending. Jul 09, Blessie Mischievous Reads rated it liked it Shelves: The whole story plot was promising, and the way the characters were introduced at the beginning was intriguing, although the way they met was very typical.

I mean, a sudden meeting in a bar leading up to a one night stand? Same shit, different story. But what had intrigued me the most was the supposed story plot, the duo unbeknownst to each other at first of the Rating: But what had intrigued me the most was the supposed story plot, the duo unbeknownst to each other at first of the fact that they were opposing counsels in a custody case, until they find out the next day. However, the whole court scenario was just a whole backdrop to their unrequited romance that it didn't really do much to the story.

I couldn't connect to the characters, and everything appeared to be rather dragging and boring, I almost reached the point of skimming through. The whole custody case was intriguing and I wanted to know what happened afterwards, but the author ended up not mentioning anymore details about it after the part where the two main characters reconcile after a big fuck up.

Yes, the whole romance was steamy and undeniably hot, but their chemistry was just so abrupt, it just felt dry. Feb 15, Casey rated it it was ok Shelves: The first few chapters of the book is great. Until I get to the rest of the book. I'm all in for people who meet and part after a one night stand. A very hot one night stand. Cassie and Brad's encounter was refreshing and a good opening to the story in my opinion. Strangers meet, have sex then leave. No name, no info, no expectations. I didn't expect --ARC generously provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review-- Also on my blog: I didn't expect anything and that's why it was great.

And then came the post one night stand. It left a bad taste in my mouth because after reading the chapters after, it's like reading about two completely different people. Who is this woman claiming to want to break out of submission? Who is this man trying to be a dominant wannabe? It's hard to process their relationship because while I get that the author wants them to be two different people by day and night, it just didn't work out.
