Desiree Cleary is a sweet, girl next door preschool teacher that leaves her BFF Emery and her life in Virginia to rush to Cape Cod for the summer, after being summoned there by her supposedly ill , flighty, free spirited artist mother.

This introduces the reader to the mixed up life that Desiree and Vi have lived at the whim of their mother Lizza.. Rick Savage is a Cape Cod native that has returned for the summer to remodel the resort that he owns with his brother Drake and best friend Dean. An architect and builder he owns an empire based in Washington DC that he runs there in order to avoid memories and his own demons that he refuses to face back home. From the moment that their eyes see each other, before they meet in person, there is a connection.

Addison writes these two characters with so much feeling and heart that as I read this book i could see and feel the emotion and experiences. As these two get to know each other better they begin to blossom and come out of their emotional shells. Until Rick, she had never felt the desire to do so.

Rick is only too willing to help her with her self discovery, and as he does he discovers more about himself. This book is supposed to be Sweet wth Heat, and it delivers on its promise, only i think that this is probably the spiciest that has been written. One person found this helpful. Sweet Love at Bayside starts out with fate taking charge in every way possible.

Rick Savage thinks he has everything he wants, great job, good friend and family, but upon his return to Cape Cod old painful memories come to surface that feel almost unforgiving. The last thing he wants to do is focus or deal with his own issues so when sweet and beautiful Desiree Cleary moves in next door to him the pretty distraction is very much welcomed. Though it wasn't planned and clearly Desiree isn't impressed at first Rick knows what he wants and he isn't the one to normally walk away so easily.

The steamy chemistry between the two is unmistakable, and Rick feels more alive than he ever has before, but he still has to face some painful memories sooner or later.

Would Desiree stick around long enough while he deals with them? Or would she leave once she knew everything he was hiding from? While the relationship is strained, she wouldn't turn her mother down when help is needed and rushed out to see her- only to find out that her mother had entirely different plans of her own.

Stuck now watching over the family home and business while her mother travels , she's now got a half sister and a crazy dog to try and live with. Though her arrival was with caution and jolts of surprises, staying around a bit wasn't all that bad after chance encounters with Rick start to heat up. A relationship is the last thing on her mind though, Desiree carries plenty of her own issues and while the chemistry is there, she's not sure what the future holds any longer. You'll have to find out for yourself! The book made me laugh, cringe as parts in a funny good humor way!

If you enjoy a nice heartwarming romance this book is for you! This is book one of the Sweet With Heat Novels, book two is below, you can read my review on that as well. Addison Cole is back with a new series! And I'm thrilled to be reading the first book! Or so it seems. You see, Desiree had grown up without her mother, or sister, as Desiree mother Lizzy had taken off after the divorce of her parents, dragging Desiree's half-sister Violet with her, leaving Desiree motherless and without a care, which fueled Desiree's determination to NEVER be like her mother.

Desiree is Miss Sensible, and you honestly cannot help but love her, she is sassy and vulnerable and you spend most of the book worried about her! Then there is Violet! Oh, my she is spunky! But most of that is just her exterior, she has also been badly damaged by their mother but knows how to put on a good front, but I spent most of the book worried about what emotional damage their mother is going to do to them next!

Now the one person who I have not spoken about yet, and who seems to be the main family in this new series and that is Rick Savage and the Savage family. After a devastating loss of his father, Rick runs, as soon as he is able too, even though he has family ties to Cape Cod. But when he decides to take care of some of his family responsibilities, he is hit on the head by something more This new series from Addison Cole is awesome and this is the first book! Which is why I give Sweet Love at Bayside 5 stars! See all reviews. I knew when Hunter looked up How to be Romantic on the internet that Embraced at Seaside was going to be a fabulous read! Apr 18, Jessica rated it it was amazing. I loved that this story was so unique, I think I say this about most books in this series but this one is my favorite so far. I have a lot of gratitude and admiration to Addison Cole for taking the time to revamp her stories so I can comfortably enjoy them. I feel that clean romances are a rarity. I feel like there is a misnomer that if it's clean you have to forgo all the sexy but it's not the truth. This author has a great balance of adding the heat while keeping it sweet.

Thanks for taking the time for turning your talents into something I can enjoy.

I am constantly amazed at this author's ability to craft distinctive distinguished characters. I am most appreciative that she wove back in my favorite characters from past books. How she keeps them all straight is incredible. With this many books in, there are a lot of characters, and I am never lost. She makes me super aware of who is who. I'll tell you a secret, I do have my favorites, but I have learned to love all the characters of the sweet with heat series.

I loved that Hunter embodied the idea of chivalry in this story. Towards a character that was not always receptive to it. I love the growth I saw in Hunter inspired by his changing feelings for Jana. Jana put up a fight she's a boxer what do you expect? Watching it all play out had me engrossed. Let me introduce you to Hunter Lacroux. Until he hooks up with Jana one too many times and feelings start to change. I LOVE the romance. I LOVE the sunrises, sunsets, dinners, and everything else that comes with romance. Addison Cole is so talented in writing these romantic, sweet, and a little steamy scenes.

Addison Cole is also amazing with her friendships. The Seaside Girls are amazing. They are the best of friends, more like sisters. These are the type of friends that everyone wants and once you find them you never let go. I am a fan of the Sweet with Heat series. With each book I get introduce to a new story, I get to catch up with my favorites from other books in this series, and I get to fall for a new book crush.

This is a series that I look forward to more from, I get excited when I hear a new book is coming soon, and I devour each books as soon as I get my hands on it. Pick up your copy. The way this story started off, I knew the characters were in trouble when it comes to each other, especially Jana. Jana is a very strong, independent woman, who is insecure when it comes to her ability to commit to relationships.

Jana loves to dance, box, and performing in a theater. I enjoy her creative side. Lately, life has gotten crazy and out of control that Jana has had to cut back on the things she loves. Hunter is creative Embraced At Seaside is one of my favorites in the Seaside series. Hunter is creative and hard working when it comes to his sculptures. He's loyal to his family, but he can be a major player in his personal life. He's not used to relationships or romance. Jana and Hunter are very similar with their care-free and non-commitment behavior. They often butt heads and get on each others nerves, which I find amusing.

Hunter finds Jana to be a challenge. He is willing to pursue a chance of being with Jana. Jana's insecurities about relationships and her past don't make it easy. Hunter's patience and ability to communicate with Jana impressed and pleased me. I couldn't put the book down. I was too curious to see if Hunter and Jana could work it out.

The ebb and flow of the dual narration makes for an engaging sweet romance. You get all the words brought to life and made more vivid in your mind. I am a huge fan of audio books. I love the previous narrator of the series up to this point. I was hesita new duo narration for this series Overall 4 out of 5 stars Performance 4 out of 5 stars Story 4 out of 5 stars Audio makes this a worthy afternoon listen while driving down the road, cleaning house, lounging by the pool, or just doing mindless work.

I was hesitant to have all that change to a dual narration without her anywhere involved. Maxine Mitchell and Joe Arden makes for a convincing duo. I did find that I could get lost just as easily in their cadence, pitch and flow. The audio was smooth and flowing. The only issue was at time distinguishing the females was a small challenge and the male laced female voices on occasion. The audio still lived up to making a picture turn in my mind.

The audio allows you to feel the heat and passion even without the explicit comments or descriptives. Listening to Hunter and Jana fall in love was beautiful. Addison Cole has taken her works and made the to where they included the reading populations that can do without all the details of the coming together, but still coming together. The story itself stands all on its own Apr 14, Shelly rated it it was amazing. This series had made me want to pack a bag, grab some friends, jump in the car and head to the coast!

Jana is my polar opposite from when I was in high school and college. She has confidence in every area of her life except for the romance department. As fate has it, Hunter shows up and shakes up her previous attitude toward love and romance. Life throws curve balls and she has to give up some of her comfort zone but fate steps in again and she's faced with Hunter. He is a bad boy persona-wise b This series had made me want to pack a bag, grab some friends, jump in the car and head to the coast! He is a bad boy persona-wise but when you discover that he sculpts, that brings in a new aspect to his personality.

Together, it's like they are one big ball of fire and with such strong personalities, you begin to wonder if they could ever truly work. Are Hunter and Jana really meant for each other or do they simply fulfill one another through their strengths? I love the sweetness that Addison writes the romance but through this series, I've discovered how she's woven a deep friendship between the characters. It makes me long for friends that were there from the beginning, through the good and bad moments as well as still keeping to the chunky-dunking tradition!

But since they got together once neither can get the other out of their head. They've spent the last several months being bed buddies but fighting it every step of the way. Can they move beyond being friends with benefits and actually date? And can they get past their history and their current hurdles to find love?

This is a sweet, fun story, set with Jana and Hunter are opposites in just about every way, except for the fact that they both refuse to commit, and Hunter enjoys his life as a player. This is a sweet, fun story, set with my favorite Seaside characters. I love watching the Seaside gang grow, change, get married and have babies! This book is part of a series, but definitely can be read as a standalone.

That being said, this is an amazing series and I recommend reading the whole thing! If you have read some of my reviews you will already know that I loved most of the books I have read from Melissa Foster. Embraced at seaside is not one of those books unfortunately. I didn't hate the heroine, but it was a close call since she was always pushing Hunter away.

Up 'till the last 2 chapters, I felt like their relationship was going nowhere and I wanted to see Hunter moving on or at least trying to until Jana realized that Hunter must be kept at all costs. He is a great guy and since If you have read some of my reviews you will already know that I loved most of the books I have read from Melissa Foster. He is a great guy and since I never felt like she appreciated him, I can have him and she can have her loneliness. It will be a fair switch. Her past didn't really justify her behavior. I want to see a story with Clark and his wife Nina.

Their problems are a big part of this book and I feel like we deserve a story with the two of them as they work things out. It would have helped if we actually saw Nina for a scene or two. The book wasn't that bad. I loved Hunter more than I disliked Jana, so that's something. The rest of the story was good and I liked the author's writing as I usually do. I would recommend the book. He's quite a steamy fella. He has the smolder down to an art. I mean seriously, you can feel it seeping off the pages at times.

I have enjoyed all of the other sweet with heat books in this series, but this book spoke to me so much more. I love that Hunter is so determined. He may be scared and not sure of love but that's not going to stop him.

Jana is such a strong woman and she works really hard to guard her emotions. I really felt I could really relate to Hunter and Jana. I think we have all had a bad relationship that made us question if they were worth it. On I loved this book and it's beautifully flawed characters. One thing I have found with Ms. Cole's books is I always come away feeling lighter. I love this group of friends and all their crazy, wild lives and I can't wait to catch up with them again!

A well-written book that will keep you entertained from beginning to end. This story is full of passion and plenty of romance. It is so easy to feel a connection to and like all of the characters.

When I finish reading the book, I feel that the characters are friends, the next-door neighbor, and even part of my family. This story shows you the ends that even through past hurts, when l A challenging romance that is irresistible! This one was not expected but was so good that it had my laughing. This is a great addition to each book in the series! Addison Cole does a wonderful job of weaving romance with humor and passion while adding in heartache that ends with the happy-ending that we come to expect.

Addison Cole definitely has a gift for writing spectacular stories!

Seaside Embrace

I have not been disappointed with a book yet! Definitely, an author that you will want to keep on the top of your go-to list. If you enjoy reading a sweet romance with a touch of humor, then you will thoroughly enjoy this book and the series. A truly captivating, emotional and heartwarming read. Hunter and Jana think they have a great thing going with the occasional hook up. They are both afraid of commitments, but really are committed without realizing it.

When they finally realize they belong together makes everything they went through to get there worth it. I love seeing previous characters from this series and keeping up with them. Friends with benefits turns into being so much more with this adorable read. I couldn't help but fall in love with Hunter and Jana's story. Commitment is a word neither one of these two understand and it just makes their relationship better.

I definitely had my laugh out loud moments and my aww that's sweet moments like I normally do with the wonderful Addison, and I can't wait for more stories of love by the seaside. Seaside is the best place for Summer time. Love, beach and lovely friends are all you need for summer and decompress from everyday time. Jana and Hunter have been "friends with benefits" for quite some time, but never wanting to take the next step. Now things are changing and these two commitment phobes must decide whether they should open up to the new world of coupledoom.

Jana and Hunter start getting serious fast until they realise that this is fast becoming a relationship, Jana gets a bit scared at one point but Hunter manages to bring it back.

They both have to face their past issues if they want their relationship to work. Embraced at Seaside is the eighth book in the Sweet With Heat: I love that Addison puts in a disclaimer in the note to readers at the beginning the book Jana and Hunter are friends with benefits.

Busy people with lives dedicated to their passions, here, dance, teaching dance, acting and boxing. His, art metal sculpture and the ironworking company that he owns with his brother. He decides that he has to make her his own and like most modern day men, turns to the internet for ideas on how to make that happen.

Jana really enjoys the banter that she has with Hunter. She especially enjoys the sex that seems to happen more often than she had planned. She focuses on letting her frustrations out in her boxing match preparations, only now Hunter seems to be interfering with those as well. She eventually gives in and challenges Hunter to try and Romance her. Their first real date on the beach at sunrise will make the reader sigh and hope for more. The harder Hunter tries the more emotions get brought out by Jana, both characters are surprised at the deepening and extent of their feelings.

Reading farther into this book you will laugh, cry, have all of the chest hurting feels that a love story that is worked really hard for has. The story comes to a head when Jana sees the art that Hunter has created using her as his muse. It truly causes her to realize the depth of his feelings. This book is one of the best that Addison has written, it brings real life romance to life and keeps the readers wanting and wondering how she will top this one! He certainly keeps Jana on her toes. Loved how he put a spin on things instead of taking her at her word. It was fun to watch how Hunter operates. He confuses Jana but also confuses himself. This is one more book that had me wishing that I were there. I want to be on that beach watching this group and see the love that they all have for each other. But it also left me wanting to compare the two just to see if I could figure out how the author was able to accomplish this.
