Most reviews of the camera are written by people who are far more advanced in cameras and photography than I really gave thought to.

They made it sound far easier than what I understood. The downloaded manual from Nikon is useless as far as I'm concerned and I started thinking about returning the camera when I found this book. I needed something that told me the "why" of what to do and not just go here and set this. I need to take a lot and very specific photos in my volunteer work and I got the exact information I needed to get crisp shots under difficult circumstances.

This book made me love my camera. The author literally goes step by step so that you know exactly what you are doing and he doesn't talk down while he's doing it. He seems to really care that it is about you getting great photos and that he's not just selling a book.

I recommend this book highly. One person found this helpful. I bought a P to take on a vacation trip to Italy, but was disappointed with the guide from Nikon.

It like a pro standing at your elbow to help. An excellent resource for the novice photographer using the Coolpix P camera. I was having some trouble understanding the user manual that came with the camera, but this book was a breath of fresh air to my grasping the concepts and uses of the camera.

Well written book that gives a great deal more information about the operation of the Nikon Coolpix P camera than you can find in the official manual. It gives detailed descriptions about settings that can be made and how they will affect the output of the camera.

If you need more information about the Nikon Coolpix P this book is for you. I really liked this book. We used this book and a one hour class fromour local photo shop. The combination of the two has really helped us learn how to use the camera.

What I like is that I can find everything very easily. So, some items are just right for us. I read the entire book, and there are some features that we will never use - but I did not feel talked down to or snubbed becuase I am not ever going to be a "manual" camera user. I recommend this - especially for someone who wants to go past point and shoot "auto" settings but not necessarily all the way to full "manual.
