Secrets of Stylists: An Insiders Guide to Styling the Stars

It is known that in all careers there is much to learn through experience, but this book certainly gives you an insight into how much work and all the loose details that are often glamorized by Reality TV in fashionista shows. It even explains the ordeals she had to endure when declaring some items in a customs form that required fast thinking and LOTS of patience. It is a great guide to basic things that are overlooked at times such as a complete guide to shape wear, and how to remove different type of stains from different kind of fabrics.

I certainly do think this is a book to keep close to you if you want to go into fashion styling and to reference back to in case of doubt. I didn't realize what all a 'stylist' does. Lot of inventory to keep organized especially if they have to be returned. Everything you need for a special event is gathered by the stylist.

Since I'm a bead embroidery artist I felt the information if vital for my business. Well written and an enjoyable read!

This book is good if you want to become a stylist, but it't not really interesting to your average fashionista. Perhaps I misunderstood what the book is about, but I thought it would be more of a generic "how to" in styling yourself, from professional stylists to the stars. I absolutely loved this book!! It was so much depth in what it takes to be a stylist, first hand experiences from current stylists, history, background, etc. It gave a realistic viewpoint on the job both negative and positive. I didn't want to put the book down once I began reading it! It's definitely a good book for those looking into becoming a stylist. It is highly recommended!
