  • After visiting Maher Communities in India, I was curious to learn more about the programs and their history. I was delighted to find the book would be compelling and enjoyable even if I'd never gone there: I learned so much about contemporary India and many aspects of culture, faith, caste and gender This is an enjoyable read that will inspire you!

It is so encouraging to learn about inspiring models of people helping people like this. As the founder and executive director on an international NGO I love reading about other organizations in action. Maher is a huge inspiration. I am grateful to know about them!

Women healing women : a model of hope for oppressed women everywhere

I interviewed the authors on my radio show, Energy Awareness and the disucssion that ensued was wonderful. Although the book is about women healing women, the lessons learned are innumerable. The love, compassion, kindness and caring that we learn from the Maher project is truly a role model for others to create similar healing centers. It is astounding what Sister Lucy has, and continues to accomplish throught this project as it continues to grow and flourish throughout India.

It is both a inspiring and spiritually enlightening. A must read for anyone who believes that interfaith communities are a dream - this proves the reality of the simple phrase, we really can all get along, accepting our differences and living in harmony with one another. This book tells the story of a remarkable woman helping other women and children.

She had no special training - just a big heart, determination to help, and her faith.
