He lays out a great approach to tackling IT infrastructure management, then proceeds to expertly, clearly and concisely explain the approach, with his own experiences sprinkled in to provide context. One person found this helpful. Great book and a must read for anyone working in an infrastructure role.

As a retired CIO, I also like that he discusses some of the non-technical attributes that make someone successful, especially those looking for leadership roles in this area. These included transparency, integrity and commitment to deliverables.
Ultimately these lead to trust with business partners, something that must be earned and not assumed. Art Carapola has written an essential guide to managing an IT infrastructure that applies to small, mid-size, and large organizations. There's a treasure trove of information in here, and the book reads easily as Art applies his real world experiences to the topics covered.
If you manage an IT infrastructure of any size, you need to read this book. Outstanding, comprehensive, to the point. Unfortunately the kindle experience of this book is not up to the content. The layout errors are quite frequents and there are too many typos. As this is not a blog post but a book you pay it cost it one star. Excellent book, real examples, covers a lot of staff for it infrastructure manager.
