In prison on drug charges, I felt inspired to start writing--to bring a view never before seen, and to show that the path we are on is only building bigger criminals. Locked up for a decade on drugs charges and immersed in both philosophical tomes and modern pulp thrillers, Langohr penned Roll Call, a light fictionalization of his troubled life.

His parents are essentially good, but they fight often.

The author succeeds by wisely using his experiences to fuel the narrative. Today I receive Your forgiveness and cannot wait to live in the fullness of all You have to offer. Sit before the Lord and draw near to His heart. Sit before the Lord and simply spend time in His Presence…no agenda just you and God.

Sit with the Lord and rejoice in all He has done in and through your time this week. Sweet friend, what an example you set this week… humbling yourself before us with your request for forgiveness. Robin Jones so aptly quoted this verse in her comment to you…there is nothing God desires more than a broken and contrite heart. You are at the perfect place for Him to reach down and reveal Himself to you in amazing ways you could have never imagined.

I join her in praying that for you. Toni, please send your home address to deuteronomysix aol. Blessings and Happy Valentines Day ,. I prayed fervently for God to be at work in and through our next lesson as we learn to take His Word and pray it back to Him. Through this transformation, I have witnessed specific and powerful answers to prayer. True to His character, He cannot go back on His Word. Mom, can I have a piece of candy?

Mom, remember yesterday you promised me a piece of candy? May I have it now, please? Which statement resonates more strongly in your heart…the one in which your child simply asks for a piece of candy, or the one in which your child reminds you of your promise? The latter, of course.

Lord, this week we dig into Your living and active Word. We invite You to speak in very personal and powerful ways as we seek hard after You. Listening is hard for us. Quieting our hearts, being still seems impossible in this busy world. We are driven to do and to go…to accomplish and to achieve. Help us to be and not to do. We want to sit in the Light of Your Presence and soak up all that You have for us. Make us comfortable as we sit at Your feet.

Teach us to pray, Lord. Teach us to pray!! This week we read John Listen for His voice. Seek His perspective on what you read. When you pinpoint the Scriptures that speak to your heart, write them down, and spend some time pondering and praying through them. Ask the Lord what He wants you to do with what you have read and learned. For our final excercise this week, we will choose some verses of Scripture and pray them back to God.

Let me share a personal example. Pour out your hearts like water to the Lord. Lift up your hands to Him in prayer, pleading for your children. In response to this, I felt led to pray for my children. I started with baby steps and selected a few verses and prayed them for my children. Here are a few examples of the short prayers I have written for Lauren and Bo.

Help Bo trust in You with all His heart and lean not on his own understanding and to acknowledge You in all his ways. Remind Lauren when she feels discouraged and like she cannot accomplish what is set before her that she can do all things through You who strengthens her. Clothe Bo in humility and teach him to put others first. Grow Lauren and Bo in wisdom, stature, and favor with You and with man. For example, if you struggle with worry, look up the word anxious or worry or peace in the concordance in the back of your Bible and find verses that include those words.

Write them down, personalize them, and pray them back to God.

When I searched, I found Philippians 4: Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. His peace will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Father, I have so much on my mind right now. I cannot even sleep at night. I feel so anxious. Your Word asks me to pray about everything. Father, I thank You for Your faithfulness. I thank You that You are in control of all things. I want to experience Your peace.

See a Problem?

So right now I am giving all of my worries to You, Lord, and claiming Your promise that in doing this, Your peace, the peace that passes all understanding, will guard my heart and mind. I thank You that I will be filled with Your peace from the top of my head to the tips of my toes.

We have traveled down smooth roads, tackled rough roads, survived deep valleys, and danced on mountain tops. But through it all, we have remained together.

Every rough road and every valley, though hard to walk through at the time, has strengthened our marriage and drawn us closer together. This year we will celebrate 27 years of marriage!! I pray God will use this prayer to bless and encourage you. If you visit my Free Resource Page, you will find a longer marriage prayer. Heavenly Father, I come before You today praising You as the giver of every good and perfect gift.

10 War Room Scriptures for Your War Room Prayer Strategy

Your word tells me that all my days were ordained for me before I lived a single one. You knew before time began that we would be joined together as one. You gave me my husband as one of those good and perfect gifts. But marriage is hard, Lord. I know they are not healthy and not what You want for me as a wife. So I come before You today for direction and help. Lord, please change me.

First, I want to confess my role in this mess in my marriage. Know my anxious thoughts. If there is any offensive way in me…if there is any part of this mess we are in that is my fault…reveal it to me. Open my eyes to see it. Humble my heart to confess it. Tender my heart to change it. You remove them as far as the east is from the west. Lord, help me to walk confidently in who I am in You. Thank You, Lord, that I am a display of Your splendor! My value and worth is found in You and You alone. My husband is a gift in my life, but my identity and worth is NOT in Him; my identity and worth is found in You.

Heal any part of me that has forgotten that or doubted that. Restore to me the JOY of my salvation. I am Your child. I am filled with Your Spirit and Your glory. Help me to walk in the fullness of who I am in You. I surrender my marriage and my husband to You, the giver of the gift of marriage, more specifically the gift of my marriage. I ask the following of You for my husband and me: Equip us with the mind of Christ and enable us to acknowledge You daily as Lord of our lives and our marriage.

I trust You to make a way in the desert. Flood our marriage with Ephesians 3: I pray this prayer meets you in your tender place in your marriage. I promise to pray for each and every request over the next week. If you are one of the four women listed above, please e-mail me at deuteronomysix aol. We closed our event praying this prayer … 1, women standing together, locked hand in hand, cloaking our hearts, minds and bodies in the Armor of God. And then last month, the Lord gave me the opportunity to share it again at our Proverbs 31 She Speaks Conference. At the close of our session, Lisa Allen, Micca Campbell, and I had the honor and privilege of anointing over women as they recommitted their hearts and their callings to God. As the words poured forth from our mouths, the Spirit felt so thick and full … I thought, surely the Presence of the Lord is in this place.

Sweet and faithful friends, my heart desires the same for you!! You are such a gift in my life. My true blessings from the Lord. He knows who needs to be empowered and equipped with His Ephesians 6 Armor. Please leave your name in the comments below so that I can jump on and pray you by name.
