Happy Christmas and happy New Year to yoo, too! I am so lost. Thank you for the beautiful pattern. Why is your pattern different than the one pictured? Please explain layout of all squares for joining. You said there are no half-squares, but it appears to be joined on the diagonal, which would require half-squares to achieve the straight sides. Hi Deb, For this blanket you need to make 16 squares in total and to join them together, horizontally first, then vertically.
If you made one square, you would see how it works. Your pattern looks wonderful! What yarn did you use and how many skeins did it take? The yarn I used is no. I spent 7 skeins of g, and used 4 mm crochet hook. Hi Dada, I too fell in love with your blanket. I am not use to complicated crochet patterns, but thought that I could do yours. However, I have run into trouble. Firstly, there is no provision in the patttern, that says turn your work, as it is in a square is this not necessary?
Then, I got to Rnd 2, and seem to end up with a bunch of popcorn stitches all bunched together. Perhap the pattern is too difficult, and I need to get some help, once i learn it I wil be ok. Many thanks for taking the time to read this. I have Primavera blanket tutorial, which is free and simple: Just to join each round with slip st. The second round starts with a beginning popcorn please click on the link: But this is 5 dc popcorn, you need to make 4 dc popcorn, so instead of making ch-3 and 4 dc, make ch-3 and 3 dc.
After the beginning popcorn, make ch-3, then popcorn in the next chain space, and again ch You should repeat popcorn and ch When you finish the second round you should have 8 popcorn stitches, with ch-3 between each popcorn. Hope this will help! Thank you so much Dada for your very long explanation.
Its not that I am a begininer, I just seem to have trouble reading other peoples pattterns. I usually just plod along and make all my shrugs, rugs, baby stuff kinda out of my head, and I do a lot of knitting as well. But I loved you other ones and I am going to print them off this morning. The squares are beautiful. I am going to have another go at the other blanket, and I will go down to a shop called Spotlight, there are ladies down there that you can get help from, sometimes!!. One other question where do you source your beautiful wool from and is it available to other people, like me in Australia.
I do buy a lot of wool from England! Loveknitting, and find them exellent. Beautifully packed and very quick. Best wishes, and many thanks for taking the time to explain so much. Your email address will not be published. First, I want to thank you all for your kind comments on my previous post. So, as promised, I set down and wrote the pattern. Just a few words before we begin. The Popcorn stitches in the corners 2 Popcorns made in ch-3 space of each round are made of 4 dc, and I marked them as Popcorn-4 in the pattern.
The others Popcorn stitches round are made of 5 dc marked as Popcorn Begin with a magic ring. Join with slip st to third chain of initial ch Join with slip st to top of Beginning Popcorn. I joined the squares with slip stitch, using only back loops. Thank you so much Lucy for this awesome and very detailed tutorial!
