The Little Green Umbrella

An Elephant walking in the rain sporting his green umbrella encounters various animals who each claim the umbrella is theirs, which they've each used in a different fashion. They tell of their adventures with the aid of the green umbrella. The Elephant is not convinced, but invites each to join him under the umbrella to stay dry. I think this is one of my favorite Children's books! I really think you will enjoy sharing this with your child!

I do not have Children, but I have read this book several times. It truly is a treasure of a book. With his green umbrella in hand on a rainy day, Elephant meets a cast of animals that politely ask him for their lost possession back. Elephant is not sure why they think that the umbrella is theirs, but each acquaintance tries to convince him of their ownership by taking him on amazing journeys with his dear green umbrella: Hedgehog rows it as a boat on a deep ocean; Cat camps in a lush forest with it as a tent; and Bear soars near the Northern Lights with it as a flying machine.

Even Elephant With his green umbrella in hand on a rainy day, Elephant meets a cast of animals that politely ask him for their lost possession back. Even Elephant tells his new friends that he uses his trusty umbrella in a variety of ways -- as a pirate sword, circus balancing pole, and baseball bat. A graceful and whimsical tale that illustrates how to use your imagination with everyday objects. Children will love to predict what comes next when Elephant meets a new character. Great pick for class storytimes.

Recommended for kids in preschool thru 2nd grade.
