The work I focus on today is his symphony in G major. The finale 4th mvt especially. The amount of power in the 4th mvt is mind blowing. I didn't see it coming!!! Beethoven String Quartet No. The first movement of my String Quartet in Em.

I've composed 4 movements and may begin work on a finale. If somebody with a Pro account could re-upload my Beethoven transcriptions I can upload the rest of the Quartet and more transcriptions. It's in simple sonata form - my first long sonata form piece. I'm not used to writing for strings, so if any string players could educate me I'm curious whether a cello would be able to play the alberti bass.

There is motivic sharing among the three works. In particular, the "motto" fugue of the leading tone rising to the tonic before moving to the minor sixth and then dropping down to the dominant is an important figure shared by these works. This intervallic material is descendent from Bach, and has been used by other notable composers, including Haydn and Mozart.
