Mermaids Cove (The Curse of the Mermaids Book 1)

I just wish it had been little longer but it was a nice story! After Sophia was caught red handed kissing and fondling another woman at a ball, she was given very bad reputation, and everyone gossiped and knew her chances of ever getting a husband were ruined, her family was horrified and humiliated, and they knew she was at that moment never meant to be a wife. Then the exclusive Lord Everett Dobson, the most unobtainable and coveted man in the city came to her parents and asked for her hand in marriage. More than willing, her parents watched as she left with Dobson to go to Mermaid Cove where he lived, for a 3 week visit to see if she wanted to be with him and live with him at his home.

Off they went and she soon realized that not was all as it seemed, however anything would be better than being banished somewhere to never be seen again.

Once they arrived at Mermaid cove she could not get over the beauty of the place, there was a castle Lord Dobson lived in, and endless beautiful coastline and beaches. Then she heard about the family curse that supposedly really did exist and that the Fey were real people and there was such a thing as mermaids! She also realized sh had not been brought there to be with Lord Dobson, and she was brought there for a different reason! You will have to read and see what happens and this was a wonderful story, with a happy ever after ending!

This story is beautifully written, it ebbs and flows with the moment. The romances are believable, and the world is gorgeously built.

The story unfolded rapidly enough to allow insight to what was going on but not give away everything, and the timeline matched the plot to a T.

I fell instantly for the characters and their backstories. Sophia is the type of female character I love confident, independent, and strong.

She has her head on straight and her ideas set. She give everyone herself with little explanation or apology. The conflict of this story surprised me. It wasn't exactly what I was expecting. The story, the background, and the characters. This story is fabulous. The setting was very nicely done, with all the chatter of wealthy elites punctuated by glimpses at something mysterious. And then the mermaids show up. An enchanting introduction to the writing of Megan Derr. Beautiful, gentle, sweet and full of magic.
