Pink Skye (The Skye Series Book 2)
At least during the last chapters. Before, I think I'm on the fence on whether I like or dislike the heroine. But now I can confidently claim I'm leaning on the more positive side. The problem is she's real. I don't mind the brash part of her realness but more like the always running away part.
And the consistently I'm a strong, independent woman hear me roar lowly man vibe. Nonetheless, in the end, I realized that what's frustrating was the reality of being vulnerable and insecure.
Upcoming Events
The most bitter pill to swallow, tbvh. So far, I am liking the guys I really hope the heroine is very well on her way to emotional healing easy to say, I know I know. But I can really see the guys trying their bests. I want to see their patience pay off. I know it's been just a short period for Ava to be with the guys but she's already learned so much about them-esp their terrifying past lives. What I am liking the best so far is the take on King Arthur's legend. The twists, oh the twists. The author's writing has been more than stellar. There were few basic grammatical corrections needed to be made but can nonetheless be overlooked easily.

One person found this helpful. Great way to follow-up on an amazing new RH series by Sariah Skye!! In this book, we get to see Avie battle her new powers that she is forced to deal with after the events ending Book 1. We finally get to see Avie's walls come down, little by little, with each of the guys. Mathias was my absolute favorite in Book 1, but now Xander and him are tied haha.
Don't get me wrong, love Trystan and Bash too, but I love how teddy bear Mathias is and how romantic and adorable Xander is with Avie. I can't wait to see what happens with Bash, he didn't get as much as a spotlight in this book, especially with this relationship with Avalon. It was tough for me not to give this book a 5 star. I think one of my favorite things to read in romantic relationships is the first time the characters shed their walls and are intimately connected with one off the guys. We got to see that with 2 of the 4 guys, but it was skipped over for the other 2 and by the end she had been intimate with all of them and getting lots of it.
If they do, I will come here and change my review. I love RH books because you get to see a person connect with different personalities, different aspects of someone. All in all, a person gets what they need from them as a unit be it humor, protectiveness, dorkiness, alpha, etc. I just felt I had missed out on the 2 guys that Avie had been with that we didn't get to read about.
I still wholeheartedly love this series and would recommend it to all my friends of RH. I cannot wait for this book to be in audio, will be snatching that one up immediately haha. Come on July, I need more!!! I've long been a fan of the King Arthur mythos I can honestly say this is the newest and most unique take yet. Avie is still trying to get a hold of her magic As such she is keeping her romantic distance from the guys lest she harm them in some way.
To say it's NOT the easiest of tasks is an understatement! All kinds of fun crazy happens in this book Surprise, surprise he too has a mass of secrets he's keeping from his beloved daughter. Avalon meet Avalon Where book 1 left off is where book 2 begins. Where her magic was cheap Christmas lights before now it is like like focusing a taser inside a donkey kick.
This is making smexy times with her incubi very difficult.

- Closure (Assassin Chronicles Book 2).
How can she move past her past if her progress is frying and bruising the guys? Being immortal means they are willing to look past the bumps, bruises and blisters but it sure puts a dampe Avalon meet Avalon Where book 1 left off is where book 2 begins. Being immortal means they are willing to look past the bumps, bruises and blisters but it sure puts a damper on her mood. And there's still the fact of her missing mom, the evil witch.
And dealing with her recently discovered dad, who's hiding secrets of his own. Seriously, can anyone of her family come straight with her? Stress keeps piling up in the form of an unexpected inheritance, mysterious and vaguely possibly threatening notes only she can read and who the hell keeps messing with Bash's wards? Ava keeps her snark, which I love. Her emotional growth takes some hits and watching her struggles to regain list ground was hard but understanable.
Her mother's betrayal was a severe blow. It takes control to use her new abilities and since she was cracked open again she has to take some time to piece herself back together. Luckily the guys come to the realization, with Summer's help, that although she's there that doesn't mean they don't have to woo her.
Them showing her their support and affection goes a long way towards her wholeness. There are some hysterical scenes that I laughed over but would be total spoilers so I won't share. I'm just happy that Ava is still Ava in this sequel. So many authors change tones but Ava keeps her spark. This was a much anticipated sequel and I'm thrilled to say it not only kept up with the 1st it matched it wonderfully. I just hope that the gentle glossing over of events at the end becomes something the reader gets to go back and visit, maybe with some more detail please?
It's only fair lol. Mar 24, Keryn rated it it was amazing.
An absolutely addicting a fun filled read!! I've long been a fan of the King Arthur mythos I can honestly say this is the newest and most unique take yet. Surprise, surprise he too has a mass of secrets he's keeping from his beloved daughter. Is he as bad as her mother, or just misguided? We also get to meet another great character from the King Arthur saga More commonly known as Merlin. Oh my this series is absolutely delicious All kinds of magic, secrets, spunky and strong female leads, hunky guys and a wacky wizard. All in all this is a really fun read!! Adventure, mysteries, family, portals, good vs evil, hunky guys and one heckuva spirited and strong female lead star in this amazing book.
It WILL leave you wanting more, more, more!! You probably could read this without having read book 1, it I don't recommend it. It's always best to have the complete back story Plus it's just it so fun to read everything you can about these crazy characters! I look forward to seeing how much stronger Ava gets with her powers I'm certain there's a lot more adventures to come! Mar 17, Jordan rated it really liked it Shelves: Inevitable, book 2 of The Curse of Avalon was a great follow up to the first book, Invisible. Picking up a few weeks after book 1, Ava is recovering from the trauma and betrayal of her mother and learning about her abilities and how to control her new powers from her father.
She's also getting a lot closer to the guys, but something is holding her back, be it her powers or her doubts about their feelings for her. In this book we get more background and insight into the Arthurian Legend. Ava lear Inevitable, book 2 of The Curse of Avalon was a great follow up to the first book, Invisible. We're also introduced to a few new characters from Camelot, one crazy not in a bad way as far as I can tell and one who seems to be a sociopath.
This story was a great continuation of The Curse of Avalon series. Ava gets closer to the guys and their relationships develop a lot more than we saw in book 1. She also comes to terms with their feelings for her and gets over her insecurities regarding that. I can't wait to see how their relationships further progress, and what happens with Camelot. Hopefully book 3 will be out soon! Mar 24, Rebecca rated it really liked it. Book 2 picks up shortly after the first book, so they do need to be read in order. I really loved the twists toward the end of this book, with Camelot and Arthur.
There is a bit of uncertainty as to who the bad guy really is, who is after Ava, and who can be trusted. I had a little more trouble getting into this book than I did the first though. It was a little slower going until about halfway through, and, for me, Ava was really hard to connect with.

I liked her much more in the first Book 2 picks up shortly after the first book, so they do need to be read in order. I liked her much more in the first book when she was all sass with an "I can take care of myself" attitude. She straight up refuses to simply communicate with the guys in this book and it drove me crazy. They try constantly and she acts like child about it. Insecurity is one thing, but this just got annoying for me.
She still had some sass, but it seemed more forced and was outweighed by the moody, whiny Ava. The end really saved this book for me because we finally for passed Ava's lack of communication and into some real story. The twists and turns of the last third or so of the book were really interesting and make me want to read the next book. Apr 14, Jill-Ann rated it really liked it. So book 2 has me hanging on for more, that's no lie!
I loved the development of the characters and the glimpse's of what is to come in the series. The reason for the lack of 5 stars? I found that with the two week gap we missed a lot of Ava's relationship progression with Bash, Mathias and Xander. You get the reasoning, she no longer felt the need to be cautious and the guys were ready, able and more than willing to give'r.

So it's more like a 4. Maybe it's because I enjoyed seein So book 2 has me hanging on for more, that's no lie! Maybe it's because I enjoyed seeing Ava let loose with Trystan. Her struggles and how he made her feel. And I was interested to see how the other 3 made her feel in different ways as they are all so different! All Omegas with Alpha moments. I think that was my favorite line and explained the guys perfectly and had me hopeful for the details of the intimacy. Overall I'm looking forward to continuing the series.

I like that there's no major cliff hanger that leaves you cursing the author. I love Skye's work and look forward to reading more! Jul 08, Kaleigh rated it it was amazing. Full of magic and wonder and smokin hot incubi! Cant get much better right? Add in a kick ass heroine and some wicked good humor, and the result is this book.
I was doubled over with laughter within the first few paragraphs of this book, seriously! I was laughing so hard that my husband was wondering what in the world was so funny, so i read him the first couple pages aloud. Now, it has both me and my husband losing it!
