The Sound of My Life

Just had a wonderful time this past week seeing a couple of very dear friends of ours, who were in from out Oregon way and whom we had not seen in far too long. A loving reminder of the succinct beauty of having true friends in this world. I hope everyone else is having a good summer wherever you might be in this big world of ours. My continued thanks to everyone who has taken the time to read and listen here. In the meantime please enjoy this tune and another image from my recent trip to the museum. The weather here has featured some torrential rains along with severe thunder and lightning storms that have little or no moisture content but have started some fires, both grass and structure. So flash flood warnings posted side by side with red flag fire warnings make Colorado anything but dull!

This particular machine is from the collection featured in the Dougherty Museum located 1 mile south of Longmont Colorado on State Route They showcase antique cars, farm equipment,pianos, organs, music boxes, phonographs, and guns. Probably not for small children but ten and up should find it a special glimpse into some real history.

What a gift it would have been to actually see the organ taken stage by stage into fullness; his drawings and discussions with the builders and the visual manifestations thereof; the behind the scenes parts built and assembled; his inspections and words of candor about what had to have been changed by his countless overseeings.

And now a word about his appearance. He has found what he NOW feels comfortable with wearing while performing and even walking through this and other videos. Oh yes, his is a nice, well cared-for body. A few very advised professional performers are not impressed. And, frankly, while loving every molecule of this man, it does not wear well with me. Right now, in his youth, he can get away with and enjoy this, but, it also comes over as a bit of "nose-thumbing," Really, would like to see less of the body and revel more in his priceless mind. Oh, and then there are those views of his smoking - come on Sir, you are too valuable to lose to the likes of Cancer; and those poses relaxing on a telephone pole are too close to an image of an element that this mind doesn't want or need.

Concluding, will continue to try to work with his agents to get him to my home town: Hagerstown, MD, the city that was the home of the M. Moller Organ company, which built the most pipe organs in history - over 17, - to perform and, maybe, with luck, be able to touch those hands that are unparalleled. CC is just amazing.
