Love from Both Sides
As the book goes on its not so laugh out loud, but its likeable, and a nice easy read. I guess it would be described as an airport trash book. I grabbed this book because it was cheap on Amazon. In the beginning I wasn't particularly engaged with the story but I'm glad I kept going. There were several points where I actually laughed out loud. I can't tell the last time a book has made me laugh out loud - in public no less! This is not literary genius and there are editing misses.
However, this is a very entertaining read and a cute story. I will happily read the sequel. Perfect banter and inner dialogue. This book is written exactly how women and men from what I've ascertained by asking think. I was laughing out loud during every chapter and equally looked forward to hearing from Laura as I did Jamie! If you want a fun read then this is the book for you!
Where do I start? This book made me laugh SO hard!
Love...From Both Sides
I laughed so hard, people around me in the DMV felt the need to move seats to get further away from me. It was that funny. Jaimie and Laura record their separate adventures on the dating scene as they try to find someone they can spend their lives with. For singles in their late 20's, I think this hapless couple's feelings as they stagger gamefully on to the next disaster will probably stir some uncomfortable memories The beginning is so obviously written by a man - it makes unfomfortable reading at times, rather than funny.
Perhaps my discomfort is a woman thing But when Laura and Jamie meet, it becomes hila Jaimie and Laura record their separate adventures on the dating scene as they try to find someone they can spend their lives with. But when Laura and Jamie meet, it becomes hilarious and I did spend a silly half hour this morning giggling so much my eyes were streaming and I had to take a break until I could see again.

Which is far less painful and embarrassing than the unfortunate couple's second date Laura and Jamie are perfect and would certainly grace any romance. And just like any good story, the ending is a it But it has to end somewhere.
This is not a girly book, not even a "chic lit" type book. It is funny and warm and crude and so worth reading! Excellent fun Mr Spalding - I look forward to the next book of your's that I have ordered! Mar 29, Meg rated it did not like it Shelves: The problem with this is that it was incredibly crass, and did not have many redeeming qualities. The first two chapters, told by a man and a woman in their prospective journals, recounted two very depressing dating situations.
In each, they got drunk and ended up having sex with someone that they regretted. I just couldn't continue. Jun 01, Jennifer rated it really liked it Shelves: Jamie and Laura are both looking for a new relationship. Both are nervous about the dating scene, as both are recovering from broken relationships. As you can imagine, dating can be hilarious - whether trying out speed dating or being set up on some truly horrific blind dates, and of course, adding a little alcohol or a lot to any situation can lead to some comical situations and bad decisions.
While this book starts off with the disasters of Jamie and Laura dating other people, eventually the Jamie and Laura are both looking for a new relationship. While this book starts off with the disasters of Jamie and Laura dating other people, eventually they find each other. Things go well at first until one fateful night with some fajitas. I really enjoy Nick Spalding's writing though I do hope that body humor doesn't make an appearance in all his books. Yes, these books are predictable overall. You know the characters are going to get an HEA, but this is one of those circumstances where it is not the destination that should be focused on, but instead the journey.
Each diary entry and blog post that Laura and Jaime shared on their way to their happiness was entertaining and made me laugh -- that's why I enjoy reading or listening to these books! And that's why I can't wait to dive into the next one. Sep 14, Katka R. Loved, loved, loved this book! It was rude, crude and hilarious and oh so true regarding dating. I listened to the audio book and Napoleon Ryan was one of the best narrators I've heard the female narrator was great as well. This would be great to read, but if you have the opportunity to listen to the audio book, I Loved, loved, loved this book!
I'm not usually big on romantic comedies, but I could read listen to books like this all day long! May 04, Sara Bone rated it it was amazing. There are not nearly enough superlatives to describe how much I loved this book, these characters and Nick Spalding. Funny, tears rolling down face kinda funny. Everyone can relate to one or more of the dating disasters in this book, whether they admit to them is an entirely different matter! Now reading part two, Love and sleepless nights..
I dare you not to at least snigger. OK, it was funny in parts and the fact that it was in effect chic lit written by a male author was I found the whole thing incredulous though - does this crap actually happen in real life?? Blah, definitely not my type of book. Jun 09, Toni rated it really liked it Shelves: Nick Spalding invents characters which are like people I honestly wish I knew or lived in my life.

This is not something you want to consider a reading-in-the-public material Which is fabulous news for him, and I love hearing about self-published authors who then get a book deal with one of the big publishers. It was absolutely amazing. Love From Both Sides is pretty much a love story, but an actual warts-and-all love story, not a magical everything-is-rosy love story. The horrors Jamie and Laura go through before they meet is ridiculous. Because, make no mistake about it, Jamie and Laura are utterly perfect for each other.
Firstly, I want to say that this book is genuinely hilarious. But, oh my God, Spalding does it!! Spalding is literally a comedy genius. True story, I was having lunch at work and I was reading as I was eating and I was on break with Dave, who I work with and he kept asking me why I was laughing at my book. Even thinking about it now makes me laugh out loud. And Bart's safe return isn't the family's only good news: Kevin is enjoying married life with Isabelle; Patrick is getting back on his feet after paying his debt to society; Ava thinks she's finally found the love of her life; and Kelly is thrilled to see his family reunited at last.
But it just wouldn't be a Quinn family gathering if things went smoothly. The queen of the romance novel is on top of her game, and she won't let you down' - Book Reporter. Juliet's been in hiding. Under Different Skies Details. From Both Sides Book 1 in the Love Series By Nick Spalding.
Bestselling previously self-published novel with a new longer version with more of the love story and the laugh-out-loud moments that readers have come to love. Sometimes, the hardest part of finding love is keeping a straight face Crude, cleverly constructed and downright hilarious! This is a funny read about life and love and how difficult it is not only to meet the one, but then to try not to poison, alienate or otherwise distress them in a huge variety of ways They're great characters and you'll be rooting for them from the off, not to mention howling with laughter in the process It was obviously only a matter of time before someone snapped [Spalding] up and I'm very glad they did as I haven't giggled so much in ages.
Seriously, I'd warn you not to read it in public as people will look at you strangely as you attempt to do that supressed belly laugh thing that makes you lool demented. Anyone who's ever had a cringeful date that's ended in humiliation that's pretty much all of us, then!
And the best bit? The next book in the series is out in June - I can't wait! Once I was 50 pages into this book I had to put it down until I could see through the tears of laughter streaming down my face. The tales of Jamiue and Laura's dates are uncut, hilarious and scarily close to real life As well as being hilariously funny, Love
