Learning the Language of God
Although in considerable pain, he was strong in faith, trusting in God. When I told him my testimony, he needed no convincing. He knew Jesus heals. I prayed for him and went back home, con-vinced I had finally turned the corner. But two weeks later; I was back again to square-one. His family sent for me. They said after that prayer-session, his condi-tion improved remarkably.

But now, it had become so much worse. Could I come back and pray for him again? By this time, I had reached the end of my rope. I told the Lord flat out: Just play a video-tape for him. The Lord chose a videotape by Jerry Savelle en-titled: After much soul-searching, I went back to see Kehinde Ladi-po.
When I tried to play the tape, it stopped after only 10 minu-tes. Nevertheless, I gave him the gist of the message: After-wards, I took my leave and went home.

This time, I decided not to fight the Lord. I will pray for whoever you ask me to pray for. Kill them if you like, that is your busi-ness. My own business is to pray. When I reached that conclusion, the Lord suddenly asked me to sing a song.
Nevertheless, the Lord was tak-ing him home to heaven. As Dominicans, we take Latin during our first years of studies. At the beginning of the fall semester, when I tried to read any Latin text, I could pick out maybe a few words that looked like English words or a few phrases that were used in the liturgy. I had to take it on authority that any of it made sense, that whoever wrote those symbols on the page was actually trying to communicate something intelligible. Sometimes, in frustration, it was tempting to believe it was all gibberish.
The saints attest that even for those who pray frequently, prayer often feels pointless. Sometimes the questions hit us in our exasperation: I can usually translate at least half of every sentence. I release most holy faith over this day and everything I must get done. I declare that this day is blessed, my household is blessed, my career is blessed, my family is blessed, and everything I put my hands to do prospers.
I release my faith and I have faith in my faith. I do not cancel out my faith with fear. I bind fear, doubt, and unbelief. Case after case, story after story, we see the power of the tongue in operation.

I shared that we can either loose death or life Prov If we want to enjoy life in Christ, it behooves us to Master Our Mouths and to speak life only. This morning I will share some practical keys to Mastering Your Mouth. Study the Word of God: Jesus said that our mouth would speak out of the abundance of our heart Mat I say that what is in you abundantly will come out of you eventually. Either way, I pray you get the point. You can only speak out of you what you have consciously poured into you. The more Word you know, the more Word you can speak.
This is no mystery. You cannot speak, however, what you do not know. Take Control of Every Thought: A great deal of our daily battle is waged in our mind 2 Cor Our minds are flooded with thoughts from either 1 ourselves, 2 the adversary, or 3 God. We must decipher the origin of the thoughts before we allow them to become our actions.
Uncontrolled thoughts create unruly images.

Unruly images, if not challenged with the Word of God, create strongholds that are difficult to escape from. If you control your thoughts you will control your tongue. If you control your tongue, you will control your life. This is not an easy thing. I talk to people all the time that want to know how to hear from God. There is not easy answer other than to spend time with God in prayer and in His Word. His Word says that His sheep would hear His voice and God does not lie.
His Holy Spirit was sent to lead, guide, and direct us John Speak what You Hear: Jesus only spoke what He heard from the Father John 8: Whether it be an audible voice in your spirit or a Word from God through the Bible, whenever God speaks a direct promise to you, stand on it no matter what. Speak it — in faith — and know it will come to pass. Allow Your Words to shape Your World: God framed the worlds through the Word of God. God, speaking Words, created everything that is seen Heb God allowed His words to frame His world.
We see the same thing with the centurion, Jairus, the woman with issue of blood, and Jesus.
They all allowed their words to shape their world. They spoke their desired outcome and they saw it come to pass in their lives. What are you allowing to come out of your mouth? I thank You for Your Word. Your Word dwells in me richly and I observe to do all that is written therein. Your Word becomes the ruler by which I judge every decision. I take control of every thought in my life. I cast down every stronghold and every imagination that exalts itself against the knowledge of You.
I line up my thoughts with Your Word. I hear what You are saying to me this day and every day and I speak what I hear over every situation. I allow my words, lined up with Your Word, to shape my world.
I receive a blessed day today. We have dealt with many facets of the language of faith and how we are to speak faith and not doubt in our lives. This morning we will see why. James opens his letter with an exhortation to us to remain in joy when we face trials. He goes on to explain that trails do not come to test us, per say, but rather to test our faith.
Our faith will be tested and this testing, he explains, develops perseverance. As we develop perseverance we become mature and complete believers that do not lack anything. This should obviously be our goal. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.
That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double minded man, unstable in all he does. If a believer has a need lacks wisdom he should come to God, who is the source of all good things Jam 1: When we ask, we must as in faith and not doubt. Asking in faith is asking in accordance with the Word of God and believing that God will be true to His Word.
The believer who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind, living a constantly shifting up-and-down life. That person is happy in the morning and sad in the afternoon. They are smiling on Monday, but crying on Tuesday. This person should not think that he will receive anything from the Lord.
Read that statement again. This is in the Bible and it is alarming to the person who wavers between faith and doubt fear. Remember that God operates in faith and satan operates in fear. If He can get you to doubt the promise then he knows that you will never receive the promise. God is moved by faith Heb Doubt is the fruit, but unbelief is the root.
When we doubt we are telling God that we do not trust Him, nor to we fully believe His Word. This then cancels our faith. Yesterday I shared that we must have faith in our faith. We must learn to ask God for whatever we need — in faith — and never turn from it. We must be single-minded in our prayers and never allow ourselves to have a Plan B, unless God leads us another way. No room for doubt! I am a Born-Again believer and am therefore Your child.
You also promised to meet my need. I place my need before You this day. I ask for daily bread for my family. The trying of my faith develops perseverance. As perseverance is developed in my life, I become mature and complete, not lack anything. I operate in faith in every area of my life. I give no space to the enemy. I pray that this series has been a blessing to you and that you are allowing your learning to turn into living.
Learning the Language of God Quotes by Jonathan Ferguson
We come to God with a set way of thinking and speaking and we must allow the Holy Spirit and the Word of God to transform our thoughts, words, and actions. Once we change the way we think, we will change the way we speak. Once we change the way we think and speak, we will change the way we act. Once we change the way we act, we have changed! Likewise, when I was Born-Again, I had to learn what things like salvation, redemption, atonement, sanctification, propitiation, etc; meant.
I learned them through the Word of God. We must all learn the language. The Language of Faith speaks pertinent promises. Once I learned the language, I had to start putting it into practice. I learned that there were scriptures that promised me peace when I troubled, health when I was sick, deliverance when I was bound, restoration when I was alienated, and etc. I had to learn what scriptures were pertinent to my situation and I stood on those pertinent promises.
The language of faith speaks those pertinent promises for permanent change.

The Language of Faith speaks the desired outcome Rom 4: I had to train myself not to simply speak what I saw. If I can see it, then it does not require faith Heb I had to train myself — under this new language — to speak things, in accordance with the Word of God, that I desired to happen, before they happened. Not only that, but I had to literally train myself to believe that what I spoke would come to pass.
The Language of Faith continues to speak the desired outcome until it comes to pass. It is foolish to think that everything in Christ is going to come easy. You can find the right promise, speak the right things, release your faith, but there will always be opposition. They key is not to allow what you see opposition to change what you say faith. You must continue to speak the desired outcome until you see it come to pass in your life! The Language of Faith never cancels out their declaration of faith with doubt and unbelief Jas 1: We dealt with this yesterday.
