The best wishes for you and your family directly from the bottom of my german heart! What a delight to receive this message. I loved Invisible Ellen. What a wonderful way to start my week! Tanks for that great charakters and story! Already told my friends to read it too!! Greetings from Vienna , Austria. I love black humor and therefore enjoyed Invisible Ellen, and I look forward to reading your other novels and viewing your Scream at the Devil movie. I forgot to add that I love thrillers and Invisible Ellen contains a good dose of that.
One thing — on page Irena appears to have been shot, but the only later wound mention is of her glass-sliced hand —?? Hi Shari, thank u for the uplifting ending, its been almost one year since Dementia took my Dad, its nice to get lost in a good book. Thank you so much! I hope you have found some peace with it. Second, thank you so much for letting me know you liked the book. And I agree, a book is the perfect place to get lost, and I love a happy ending!! Hands down, you are my favorite character on Babylon 5!
Great acting, and you are a perfect fit for that role. I have never seen someone that reminds me of a lioness as much as you! Just devoured both the Ellen books. I am sure hoping there will be a third book…. Not sure yet if the publisher will pick it up. Depends on sales of the first two. Thank you sooooo much! Need to know Ellen is doing fine though. Oh, title would be an interesting.. My cousin, who is mentioned in my last blog, actually has the family history. All Shattucks in the states are basically related, and we have some great stories in our history. Well, hope to hear from you again cuz.
Thank you for your beautiful book. Thank you so much. I hope, that like Ellen, you have found friends and strength in others and know that what you have to offer is as valuable as anything anyone else has!! Although I believe everyone started in Albany. Anyway, I saw some of your work a couple decades ago, and always wanted to say HI! And there you have it. Anyhow, Happy New Year! Yes, New York state. My Dad actually came from there, his grandfather had a dairy farm. After a near death experience, she meets her spirit guide, and things change!!
Just checked out a trailer on YouTube. Had a blast making that movie. Three months in Rome! Glad you are having a retro film day! Hello Shari, I just got done reading both Ellen books and I have to say thank you for writing them. There are so many stories out there to tell, and so few really get published. What made you decide to write Ellen? I think ultimately it was knowing so many people who have so much to give, but who are ignored in our very beauty and money oriented society. Thanks for the generous message, it makes me smile inside.
Hello Shari, I just finished Invisible Ellen. As a school counselor this really touched my heart. To hear how one overcame such diversity from childhood is so inspiring. Thank you for writing this book. This means so much to me. It has become such an important factor in my life to see the worth in everyone, and this affirms my thoughts that people really do care and that this is our natural state, loving and compassionate.
God bless you for the work you do, and thank you so much for the note! I loved both books. I am ready and willing to move forward!!! HOLY hilarious all the way around! I have a weakness for Highlander clan stories and this one was very heart-wrenching AND heartwarming! A do not miss for sure! How to Lose a Duke in Ten Days If the title doesn't tell you you will laugh your butt off reading this, then this may not be for you. Confident, gets what he wants guy meets his match! This story warmed my heart at the same time as I wanted to kill someone! Simon knows what he wants and jumps right on in and gets it!

Read to find out more!! As you can see and if you follow my reviews at all, I am not one to give away too much plot in my reviews. That would ruin it for you. What I will say is about writing and characters and story things. There really wasn't much to not like about these novellas. This anthology is really a great way to expand your horizons to new authors. They all did a great job of peeking my interest in their series! Nov 05, Tracy Emro rated it it was amazing. I thought this was a great compilation of novellas. I liked some more than others and of the seven stories three really stood out as outstanding and I would be hard pressed to choose which was my favorite of those three.
The Widow Vanishes by Grace Callaway - 5 stars. This was one of the three that I really loved.
I loved Will and Bella. I will most definitely be looking for more books in this series. Scandal before sunrise by Sabrina Darby - 3 stars. This was a new author for me and I didn't re I thought this was a great compilation of novellas. This was a new author for me and I didn't really care for her writing style.
The story was Ok, but I don't think I will be reading the series. A Highlander's Heart by Jennifer Haymore - 5 stars. I love this one too! I almost skipped this story because I had read a book by this author that I absolutely hated - A Hint of Wicked. I swore I would not read anything else by this author after reading that. But, I saw the reviews for this as was intrigued - I am so glad I read this! It was so emotional, so heart breaking and yet so wonderful. It is a second chance at love story and it was wonderful. I will definitely be reading this series!
Lord Lucifer's Disciple by Sue London - 5 stars. Loved this one too! I don't think Ms. London can write a book I don't love! This book was funny, steamy and entertaining - if you have read the series, you will be delighted to see old friends and if you haven't read them - what are you waiting for? They are fantastic and I am impatiently waiting for the next book to release!! I had actually read this book before I got this book. I loved Lucas and Pippa. I will absolutely be reading this series.
I liked this one. But since I have read the series - this book was bittersweet for me. I won't say why in case you haven't read the other books. But it is well written and very enjoyable. I can't wait for Lucky's book to be released! If you haven't read this series, you are missing out. They are all great. This book just didn't do it for me. It was just too short for the story to be fleshed out.
It had potential - but there was too much left unsaid and it wrapped up way to fast to be believable. The writing was good, but I don't think I will be actively looking for more by this author. All and all - this was an excellent set of novellas and I enjoyed the book and would recommend it Since this book is a compilation of novellas from different authors, I will write my review on each novella from each author. The Widow Vanishes is the first novella that I read from this author. However, for me the title is not that appropriate in the story.
Inspite of that, I am glad that I purchased this book. Callaway surprised me on her writing. Even though it is a short story, she tackled everything.

She has a story and it is kind the different type of characters where they are not fro Since this book is a compilation of novellas from different authors, I will write my review on each novella from each author. She has a story and it is kind the different type of characters where they are not from high class status of individuals. I got intrigued from the way she wrote this story and now curiuos to try her books.
I would definitely read the mayhem series. Although I think, I will go for book 2 first. I am so excited to read the Hunt's story: A 4 stars for this novella. This review is more Ms. It was first book that I read from this author. The Lady Northharm Wicked Surrender. I liked the plot and heroine's character.
I don't blame if it is lacking of story, since it is a short story. I will definitely read her other books.
This review is for Ms. I liked her novella. The emotions that were flowing and it was a good start of another amazing series. I can't wait to explore her new book series. A 4 stars for me. I was given a free ARC copy for an honest review. The fun of one book with multiple authors is you get to read authors that are new to you. The stories stand on their own so if one is not to your liking read the next you may like that one much better.
I love Jennifer Haymore's books and this one has mention of a House of Trent character so those of is that love that series it is nice to have that pop up. Overall all the novels and novelettes are well written in the HEA regency romance style with I was given a free ARC copy for an honest review. Overall all the novels and novelettes are well written in the HEA regency romance style with extra spice.
I have new to me authors I am now adding to my TBR pile. However, some authors seemed to add lots heat to the story not as a compliment to the story but it seemed they felt it was needed. Overall, I recommend the book to romance readers that like books with lots of heat. This book title caught my eye so of course I had to try it out.
The authors are mostly new to me. I love finding new authors to read. There were all sorts of plots, sex, twists, sex and bits of History. Did I mention sex? This is a little over the edge so this shouldn't be read by those younger than The stories were a good length with all different p This book title caught my eye so of course I had to try it out. The stories were a good length with all different plots.
One s was a little sluggish and for me it seemed to have a lot of repeating in it. I won't say which as it may not happen for you and I wouldn't want to ruin it for you. Please read this book! I enjoy reading Historical Fiction and am always looking for new authors to read. This lets me view different ones and lets me know which authors I will continue to seek out. I was very impressed with these stories and actually felt for the characters in the different books.
Being introduced to the starts of these series is a good way to know if I would invest my time in them. I have to say that I really enjoyed each and every one, I'm a big fan of historical romances. All of the novellas have colourful strong characters. ARC courtesy of NetGalley. Seven great reads - all first or prequels in a series and all making me want to read more. Great mix with everything from Highlanders to Dukes, via widows and virgins, with headstrong heroines and honorable men coming to their rescue. Historical, regency romance and smutty fluff in a great combo.
Each story in this collection of series-opening novellas is like a kiss, sexy and satisfying in itself while awakening a longing for more. What an incredible anthology. All the stories are fantastic! I particularly enjoyed Ms. London's so much that I have now read all the Haberdashers series. I couldn't read them fast enough! Can't wait for more! Jan 05, Annie rated it liked it Shelves: Talk about truth in advertising!
You get 6 novellas that are sizzling hot. Sometimes love leads to sex, and sometime's it's the other way around I found the same Americanisms popping up in the dialogue in every novella — something Regency authors in general should really be taking more care with. I liked the premise of this story quite a lot. I would have liked to have seen some more care creating the era there were some very public displays of affection, and sidewalk is a very, very American word. But I definitely enjoy her writing of London street life more than the bedroom antics! I really loved the one other thing I read by Sabrina Darby, so this was the story I was most excited to read out of the collection.
However, the author nearly killed it on the first page. I stopped reading for a few minutes, got over my frustration, and then enjoyed the rest of the story. Darby writes in a way I enjoy. Not too fluffy but also not especially serious, if I want a lighter historical romance this is exactly the kind of style I want to read. Though there were a few too many nasty female characters for my feminist sensibilities, I ended up really enjoying the idea of the story.
I liked the idea of a group of young people forming a solid gang of friends. I liked that their friendships were about more than just who they could sleep with and how fast. However, there was one final thing that nearly sent me batty: But to use it in Regency England must surely be a criminal offence!

When desire rekindles between them, they both hope desperately that they can mend their broken marriage … But some wounds go deeper than the concussion Rob suffered on the Waterloo battlefield. I really loved the start and finish of this one, but especially the start. The Battle of Waterloo is one of them. However, this is one of the only times an author has actually taken me to the battlefield the aftermath, not the battle itself.
So I was hooked from the start. This novella is clearly setting up a series, so the middle was necessary to achieve that task, but we did leave the main relationship for a while why we learnt about this league of Scottish spies… Clearly the author has a preference for Scottish men, because there was more than one comment about how much sexier, more educated etc. I might be interested in picking up the series this novella introduces.
Really, really love them, particularly in historical romance where everyone seems to be a Fabio-type, minus the hair. The relationship moved very, very fast, but then this is a novella. I also liked that the characters had interests and pasts and ideas about their futures. Really, my only issue was with a comment about bathing that popped up in the middle of the wedding night scene and totally killed the atmosphere! To this day, she relived that horrid moment, agonising over every humiliating detail.
His blank, slightly horrified expression as Mr Tisdale had introduced them. Then finally, his curt dismissal as he turned and walked away, in front of everyone. Kate McKinley manages to have hers out first, so I guess that counts for something!

Because of this, the story has to happen in a condensed fashion. I did like the first few pages and how we were introduced to the characters. It immediately highlighted their differences in class and social standing. Of course, the story being condensed also means the characters are getting a little intimate from very early on.
In this case, yes, our hero was still a bloody duke! However he was fifty-two to a heroine who was heading towards thirty. I thought it was an interesting change, and I enjoyed reading about both characters. It fell apart towards the end partly because there were too many characters but mostly because the main two turned into porn stars.
They lost their personalities and did things that — for a virgin in Regency England — just seemed outrageously anachronistic… I would, however, be interested in trying something else from this author. It was mostly a collection of bedroom scenes with a few conversations in between. This is definitely a plot that deserved a much longer word count, because it has the potential for lots of angst, rather than a drama spanning many years being resolved with one conversation in a story covering a couple of days. As I said, the premise is great. I love reunion stories perhaps more than any other kind.
I wonder what the author could have done with this in a full-length book. Just as long as she keeps that evil word snuck out of Regency England from now on! Review copy provided by NetGalley. Aug 26, Cas H. I really liked this anthology! The widow in this story, Annabelle has been forced to sell her body in order to pay back her late husbands debt. She does not want to do it, but she wants to live. Will is working for Todd, gathering information about Todd's enemy's. Todd is a dangerous man who owns a whore house and he offers Will his choice of lover's for an evening.
Will is drawn to the beauty at the end w I really liked this anthology! Will is drawn to the beauty at the end who is playing shy. He feels drawn to her, he wants to protect her, and he wants to bed her. He puts away his protective instincts and enjoys a night of pleasure with her. Annabelle does not want to have sex with anyone, but she is drawn to Will and she willingly gives him her body for the night. In the morning, Annabelle does not want to remain in the whore house, so she dons Will's shirt and leaves the house with Will's money.
She leads Will on a merry chase, and only when Will captures her does she go with him, and then she tells him the whole truth. Will can't stand mistreatment of any sort, so he goes to Todd and demands Annabelle's freedom. Todd demands some dangerous work from Will in return and Will agrees. This book is filled with sex and a plot that will have you cheering the hero on. This book is well written and I may look into reading other books by Grace Calloway.
I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars. Scandal Before Sunrise by Sabrina Darby is a delightful love story between a second son, and a woman who was accused of a scandal two seasons earlier. Abigail has just returned to London. This will be her second season. She left her first season partway through and never returned the following year. A scandal plagued her attentions. Elliot Jones, who is referred to as Jones, wants to seduce Abigail. He thinks she is sweet and nice, and likes that scandal has touched her before because he does not believe she is a virgin and he has convinced himself that he wants her in bed, without marriage.
Abigail's family is touched with scandal adding to her own scandal, and this could make her a pariah in London, who is no longer welcomed anywhere. She must marry before the truth of these scandals reach the ears of the people of London. This was a wonderful book, a well developed plot. There was one scene involving a seduction that went a too far to make this book just kissing. I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars.
A Highlander's Heart by Jennifer Haymore was a wonderful love story. Claire Campbell has not laid eyes on her husband for about a year. She has chosen not to see him, and thought to end their marriage. Robert Campbell misses his wife and does not think that she will ever want to be with him again.
Legacy (The Callaway Wilde Series Book 4)

Claire and Robert have to overcome the problems of the past and start a new future, a future that may include being separated forever. They must decide what the important things are, and they must decide together. I received a free copy of this book in return for my honest opinion. I really like this book and I rated this book 4 out of 5 stars. Lord Lucifer's Disciple by Sue London has been mis-titled. I read the title and thought, oh my goodness, this book is all about sin, and drawing the readers to a life of sin.
It is not that at all. Lord Lucifer is the author of a book which John Howards, one of the main characters gets from the book store. The title is Lord Lucifer's guide to pleasuring the fairer sex. The author shares with us snipbits of this guide, with quotes from the author Lord Lucifer.
It is basically a guide on how to woo a girl. John Howards is an incredibly shy person, he does not like going to parties and is excited when he gets a book that can help him become more outgoing. He uses this book, dresses up for a masquerade party and ends up becoming more free then he can ever imagine. Elisa is a young lady who must marry before her next birthday, she has been encouraged to find true love, but if she does not find it, then a match will be made for her.
At the masquerade, they meet and John behaves like a rake who is used to the pleasures of the fairer sex. Elisa falls in love with Casimir, and wishes to make a match, but Casimir, who is really John, cannot make a match of it when it is based off a lie. John sets out to make everything right, he wishes to make a match with Elisa, but she won't have it.
She only sees the boring John and not the outgoing Casimir. John must change her perception of him, and win her heart, if Elisa will let him. This book was super sweet and John being the perceptive person he was, was refreshing. I did not feel that the meeting that was scheduled for the night of the ball should have gone as far as it did. He was a stranger, and she gave all her trust to him. I felt that the book would have been good, even if they just kissed in that scene with noting more.
See a Problem?
I gave this book 3 out of 5 stars. How to Lose a Duke in 10 Days is a page turner that you won't want to put down. Lucas is the Duke who will do whatever he needs to do to get what he wants. He is ruthless to a fault and now he has set his sights on Pippa. Pippa is the daughter of a tradesman who is satisfied with her station in life. She does not care to raise her status among the ton so when the Duke offers her marriage, she turns it down. Every day she must come up with new ways to get rid of the Duke and make him rescind his Betrothal Ball announcement which was placed in the papers.
This book is not only funny, but is a scandalous, shocking, steamy, sexy and wonderfully written tale of what love can be. This story is about a girl who becomes a companion for her Aunt, because her father has died leaving her a spinster of 28 with no prospects. Amelia must conduct herself with the propriety expected of a lady. She must remain in servants quarters because she is the companion, and not allowed with her aunt unless her aunt invites her to join in. This Aunt is dreadfully mean and Miss Amelia only remains with her because she has no place other than a woman's work house to go to, so she remains.
On one particular outing, Amelia is avoiding her Aunt, and all the goings on and she wanders into a maze and meets a kind Sir. She does not know until that night, after he kisses her that he is the Duke. The Aunt has her sights set on the Duke and fires Amelia as her companion after she witnesses the Duke and Amelia kissing. I thought this book was really sweet. Age doesn't matter in this book, only love and I love that concept.
Lady Northem became a Countess 6 years prior when she married a Count. He died and she is left a widow. Before she married the count, she had her sights set on Simon, but when he did not write her after his year long absence, she finally consented to marry another, Simon's best friend. Simon left 6 years ago, to India, and has not returned until this day.
When he hears her thrashing in her bed at night, calling his name, he goes to investigate, and starts to make love to her. Their love was lost years ago, but could be re-kindled, if only they knew the secret that each one held. The secrets must be revealed in order for their relationship to bloom, otherwise it will die.
I thought this book a wicked delight, I would love to have read a longer tale, but this short one will have to do for now. I received a free copy of this book in return for my honest opinion I gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars She is also at the mercy of a menacing cutthroat. Now the only way to pay off the monstrous sum is either death or selling her body.

This is a wonderful mix of stories that are sure to please everyone. It also gives readers a chance to try new to them authors while also reading some of their favorite authors. It will also have readers wanting to read the other books in the series. Some are the perfect length though some will have readers wishing they were longer and with a better resolution to the story. It also has some great Scottish heroes that make for some very hot reading. This is worth getting because it has a great assortment of stories.
