Sep 16, Jessica's Book Review rated it it was amazing Shelves: Guardian is one of THE best books I have read all year. I fell in love with the story of college student Emma trying to deal with the loss of her boyfriend James who was killed in a car accident and meeting Dane; who helps Emma move on.

I could not wait to get my hands on Allegiant to find out what is next. Review contains spoilers if you have not read the first book Guardian in the trilogy.

I really am afraid to say too much in my review and ruin Allegiant for you. It is full of surprise and suspense. I want you to experience your jaw dropping like I did while reading, especially at the end! Allegiant felt completely different then Guardian but also felt exactly the same.

In Guardian, I felt the book was more romance then paranormal. Yes, James is a ghost who visits Emma and the two try to continue on with their relationship as much as they can privately but at the same time Emma meets Dane and he wants to be part of her life; they both develop feelings for one another.

Allegiant however was more paranormal then romance this time around; I was totally okay with this because reading about guardians, wards, and the allegiant was really intriguing. What makes it the same is the story is still amazing, the writing is phenomenal and the characters are exactly how you remember them.

Emma tells him to stay away so he can try to stop loving her, if the Allegiant finds out he loves his ward they will erase his memory and they both do not want that to happen. This is where Allegiant picks up. I still would sometimes forget James is a ghost because it felt so normal their time together. We learn some things about Dane that will totally surprise you. In fact that is one of my favorite things about Allegiant; I was not expecting how the story played out, especially the end. I was in complete shock. Oh my, the end… another nasty cliff hanger! There is an excerpt of Reborn the third and final book in the trilogy that will hold you over a little.

I laughed out loud. As I said above, Allegiant is definitely more paranormal romance then Guardian. There is still plenty of romance but I am just glad I was not in tears throughout reading. I was able to really enjoy the story since it was a bit more complex. After reading Allegiant I still do not know who I want her to be with. I know she loves James but Dane is something special too. She is so lucky to have two men who really love and care for her. The ending just left me even more confused… you will understand why! Sara Mack writes an amazing, special, brilliant story I want everyone to read.

Allegiant did not disappoint, it was just as amazing as Guardian just in different ways. ARC provided by the author in return for an honest review. View all 8 comments. Sep 15, Charlotte rated it really liked it Shelves: This lady is amazing! And this series is amazing too! Sara's writing easily evokes emotions that puts you right into the story and makes you fall in love with the characters. Guardian ended with a crazy cliffhanger and I couldn't wait to get my hands on Allegiant.

The story picks up pretty much where it ended and doesn't miss a beat. The story of Emma and her friends grabs hold of you and doesn' 4. The story of Emma and her friends grabs hold of you and doesn't let go.

Guardians Trilogy Series

Allegiant is full of suspense, action, and romance. This book takes a more paranormal turn than Guardian did. We learn more about the Guardians and their world and are introduced to the Allegiant. Emma and James are still struggling with their current situation and Dane is still waiting in the wings for Emma. Allegiant also introduces us to some new characters who bring their own drama to the story. I don't want to give away what happens in the story because I don't want to spoil it for anyone.

I r Hey Sara Mack!!!! I read this book faster than I read Guardian! I couldn't put it down! I am very anxious for Reborn!! View all 3 comments. Sep 22, Emm Cole rated it it was amazing. I read this trilogy in just over three days, and rather than give a recap of this story, I'll just say read on through the third! I can't go into a lot of the plot of the second or third without spoiling so many surprises.

Allegiant is admittedly my favorite of all three of the Guardian books. I think it might be because I enjoyed Dane and James so much, and for totally different reasons. It's a rare thing for me, not being able to make up my mind about which love interest a main character should I read this trilogy in just over three days, and rather than give a recap of this story, I'll just say read on through the third! It's a rare thing for me, not being able to make up my mind about which love interest a main character should choose. It took me until the third and final book, Reborn, to make that decision.

So brava, Sara Mack! You had my fan-girl emotions all over the place. Yes, I had to grab Reborn as soon as I finished Allegiant. Sep 21, Tracey rated it it was amazing. Allegiant left me wanting more thanks to a cliffhanger ending! We still don't know if Emma will move on to be with someone else, like Dane or if she will remain wanting to be with James. Emma goes through many ups in downs with James and Dane wanting to be in her life. Jealousy causes many issues amongst the three of them. I can't wait to see what's choice Emma makes whether she will choice James, Dane or neither of them to continue being a part of her life.

I can't wait for the last book in thi Allegiant left me wanting more thanks to a cliffhanger ending! I can't wait for the last book in this The Guardian Trilogy! This is a must read but start with the first book Guardian! Jan 01, Gwen Shafer rated it it was amazing. This is the second book in this series.

It has been a long time since I read the first one but I could easily pick up where the first one left off. I absolutely loved this one as much as I loved the first one. Emma is back at school trying to deal with missing James. But in reality James is right there in her life. She is trying to get through every day one step at a time. I absolutely love her relationship friendship love affair with Dane. There is just something about these two being together. This one was just as intense as the first one. I cant wait to read the next one in this series and see what happens with Emma.

The ending of this book had me in tears wanting to know what was going to happen to Emma, James and Dane. Just intense from the beginning to the end. I love Sara's writing Sep 15, Christina Rodriguez rated it really liked it Shelves: Do you know that book that will have you going from one emotion to the next in a blink of an eye? Well that's exactly what Allegiant does. I have never gone through so many mixed emotions while reading a book. One minute I was smiling and swooning and the other I wanted to fling my Kindle to the other side of the room.

That's to say that I actually enjoyed Allegiant much more than its predecessor! If I was to say everything I wanted to in this review we would be here forever so I'm going to give you the abbreviated version. The story starts off a couple of days after Emma has returned back to school at WMC. She is in a slightly better mental state and is enthusiastic about starting school again. Her best friend Shel is back home and Emma finds herself sad and alone. But no matter how much Emma tries to get back to her normal life, the disappearance of James and the animosity between Dane and she, has her in turmoil.

A turmoil that actually makes her a much better character in Allegiant. She did have moments where I wanted to strangle her but I think that she also finally starts to heal from her loss and to see that she has options and a choice. This leads me to Dane. He has been on my BB book boyfriend list since Guardian and in Allegiant rises a spot up. D After being spurned by Emma and asked to stay away Dane does just that. He allows her to discover her feelings for him by herself.

He settles on being her friend and hoping that one day she realizes her feelings for him are mutual. When Emma needs him the most there is never any doubt that he would care for her. Even if caring for her puts him in danger, again, Dane comes to the rescue and saves the women he loves. Just one of course. D But I also think that that moment was also very beneficial to him in the long run because his competition is intent on not going away. This brings us to James After figuring out a way to hide from The Allegiant, James returns and is determined to stay with Emma.

He refuses to think of her moving on and refuses to let go of her. So they return back to their lovey dovey romance and everything is peachy for the time being. One thing is certain, The Guardians are divided and Emma is caught in the middle of their war. As we continue the story of these three we learn more about The Guardians and The Allegiant and just what is going on in James new world. We also have the addition of great secondary characters.

Shel and Matt are back and are as adorable as ever! Garrett takes precedent in this book and is surprisingly a wonderful character. More Guardians are introduced and unknown characters revealed, that will wreak havoc. Pick up your copy NOW! Okay I think that was pretty abbreviated.

Okay so Sara Mack is a genius. It's been a few days since I've finished this book and I'm still not over how amazing it is. She created such a beautiful story and amazing characters. I'll be whatever you need. It's a silly request and one that doesn't quite make sense. He squeezes me tightly and doesn't even que 5 Guardian loving stars! He squeezes me tightly and doesn't even question it. And I love them together.

Before she would tell her self that it was only James, forever and always. But I really think that if James was never her Guardian, she would've moved on a lot faster. So in this book, it pretty much starts off where Guardian ended. Emma has just moved into an apartment close to the college and she has 4 "house mates", its an old house they sectioned off into apartments.

And the one right down the hall from her is Garrett, the same Garrett that was James' Guardian. He is now human, kinda. He's trying to become human again and hide it from the Allegiant at the same time. Of course when she finds out who he really is, things between them change but I really hope they can get back to where they were before. James comes in and out of her life a lot in this book. Now that he is her Guardian he can't love her, he has to find a way to move on, so he's been trying to stay away from her unless she's truly in danger.

Oh I love Dane. Emma and Dane haven't been talking for a while since things ended kind of badly the last time they saw each other, but they eventually get into each others life again. Its bound to happen when Emma's best friend and Dane's best friend are a couple. In this book Emma finds out that this whole time she's known Dane, he's been engaged. There is a lot of back story to why he's engaged, and I don't want to tell you everything, so you'll just have to read it to figure it out, but, he does break the engagement off.

Dane and Emma get stuck together for a month in a nice Caribbean get away when Garret, James and Emma have to hide from the Allegiant. James can't stay with Emma, so he gets the one person he knows will take care of her, Dane. And you find out some secrets about Dane while they're hiding too. There is SO much more drama and epic scenes that happen, but I'm not going to ruin it for you.

I can NOT wait for the 3rd book in the series, Reborn. This is definitely a series I need in paperback, signed, on my favorites shelf. Oct 12, Confessions of a Book Whore rated it it was amazing. To say this book is amazing is an understatement. Sara Mack continues to draw the reader into this complex world of love, loyalty and confusion.

The characters all experience their own trauma at one point or another but they are all conflicted and all connected in some way. I had a few jaw dropping moments and I must say this is a cleverly crafted book. I could not believe the connections, the decisions made and the turn this book takes! The ending will leave you in a state of shock, but definitely craving more. I love, love, love this book and I cannot wait for the final installment.

I already know it is bound to be great. This is a fantastic follow-up to Guardian. The author has managed to…painfully…leave me hanging…again…. I will reiterate my earlier sentiments from my review of Guardian that Sara Mack is indeed evil…yeah I said it…again All jokes aside this is a phenomenal book. You will be kept in suspense.

Allegiant (Guardian, #2) by Sara Mack

The characters are faced with some incredible obstacles and tough decisions. Emma has one hell of a choice to make and although the book ends in a way that leaves me wondering if this can possibly go in a different direction later, I absolutely have no clue. I am astonished that Sara Mack might actually surprise me. I love that I am so unsure of what the final outcome will be and shocked at what has already come to pass. What a story and boy do I love these characters…each and every one of them have managed to weasel their way into my heart and I am still torn between the love interests.

And now for some shouty capitals to express myself with a little oomph…. This is a series you truly have to experience to understand how great it is. All thoughts and comments are my own. May 13, Angela Cruz rated it it was amazing. This book is a paranormal romance, the second book in The Guardian Trilogy, any age group. This is not meant to be a stand alone, it picks up where the first book leaves off, but you do get ideas throughout the story so you are not completely lost. This book is another emotional roller coaster, bitter sweet.

I am anxious to read the next book being its the final This story is about Emma dealing with the return of James as her guardian. She learns all the new This book is a paranormal romance, the second book in The Guardian Trilogy, any age group. She learns all the new "rules" to their relationship and she is desperate. I still despise Dane, I know he is the kinda, sort of, good guy but I am so pro James. True love never dies, he came back just for her. This is the continuance of Emma Donohue's story, her long road of grief, her desperation to return to her life.

Only to be reunited with her now guardian, boyfriend James. She goes through so many tribulations and at times she is lost to what is right or wrong. Thank you for your feedback. You need to read " Fallen" first because the story continues where "Fallen" ends. The Fallen Ones are gathering for a big battle involving Maggie and Eran. Questions that arose in "Fallen" are answered in this book.

The reader learns about Maggie's past lives and why she came back as a reborn with no memory of her past lives and as a mortal. Eran has chosen to Fall which means he is stuck on Earth, unable to go back to heaven until his body fails in order to protect Maggie better. Those angels that do that are called Alterums and they differ from Fallen Ones who only seek to create evil against humans. New characters are introduced and previous characters have more revealed about themselves.

Again the innermost part of this story is the love between Eran and Maggie. Eran is her guardian , but that doesn't mean Maggie is helpless either since she is a Messenger. Again, the author succeeded in luring me into the pages with her descriptive narrative. The adventure continued for Magdalene and Eran and I could not stop reading until I had reached the end. In this installment, I was most interested in watching as Magdalene and Eran's love blossomed more, building on what was established in Fallen.

Their unspoken, and spoken, devotion to one another is beyond reproach. Something that was so very easy to fall into with them. I finished Eternity within twelve hours and returned to the Kindle Bookstore within moments to purchase the third and final chapter of this duo's story, Reckoning. I highly recommend this trilogy to the YA crowd as well as adults. Again, same as with Fallen, this book had a severe lack of editing prior to being published and released. Actually, Eternity was riddled with far more grammatical and punctuation errors than Fallen fell victim to. There were at least two or three in each chapter which made the story choppy as I had to back track multiple times to figure out how it should have been displayed on the page.

This obvious disrespect for the editing process is the reason for my one star reduction in my review. The book would have flowed much better if I, the reader, wasn't tasked with editing as I read. I just couldn't understand WHY she would stay in school and continue to endanger Maggie's life and the lives of everyone else in the whole school.

It just didn't make sense to me given her need to keep everyone safe. She never had to go to school before so to me this was a huge plot issue. I could never get back into the story as she delt with new issues at the school that she shouldn't even be at to begin with.

  • The Guardians Trilogy by Nora Roberts;
  • Historias Clásicas en “Poemas de la Vida Real” (Spanish Edition);
  • Eternity (Guardian Saga, #2) by Laury Falter.
  • At Any Cost;
  • Guardians Trilogy.
  • Lessons at the Edge - Parts-One-Two-&-Three-Complete?

So it was a bust for me Laury Falter is now one of my favorite authors. Guardian Trilogy gets better and better. This series is just wonderful; filled with love, suspense and action. Though reading the first part of the book is not necessary I definitely recommend it. We continue with Maggie trying to live a normal life even though she is the last messenger in existence and the Fallen One's want her dead.

Eran has professed his love for her but has made it clear that until all Fallen angels are dead he will not act on his love because he needs to maintain his focus. Maggie decides to keep herself busy in order to avoid feeling the rejection and hurt. In the process she meets someone who trains her to fight; she becomes strong, very strong and in the meantime realizes she can learn much about her parents and her past from this person. Her instincts started to kick in, even though being a newborn made her forget her past. Eran has an old friend Campion to watch over Maggie when he goes away in the evening searching for information on a new rumored war.

This is where I love Maggie the most because she despises having someone watch over her and she definitely voices her opinion. The war that takes place, her life in the after life, the consequences of being with your true love and trusting others is what made this book remarkable read. One person found this helpful. It will spoil the first book! In this book Maggie is aware that the mysterious and handsome Eran is her Guardian and has been for a long time. They have also come to terms with the love that they have for each other, which makes things very complicated due to the fact that Eran takes his job of protecting Maggie very seriously and rarely allows moments of intimacy, afraid that even the smallest distraction could put Maggie's life in danger.

This is very hard for both of them, especially because their love is so intense, lasting over centuries. Eran's worries are not unwarranted though, Maggie has made a lot of enemies through her several past lives and many of them would love nothing more than to see her life ended eternally. Maggie is still going to the private school she enrolled in, the only difference is that Eran is now a new student at the school as well, for the sole purpose of being able to watch over Maggie throughout the day.

Little did either of them know what dangers lie ahead, and soon find out when one of Maggie's old acquaintances, and even newer enemy, comes to town, bringing a daunting message: A battle is coming. Eran gets to work right away, investigating the situation and gathering knowledge in order to be prepared, but nothing can prepare them for whats coming.

This book was awesome for many reasons. First, you get to learn a lot more about Eran and Maggie's past. Their love story goes back many centuries leaving a lot to be explored.
