Hungry Tigress (The Way of The Tigress, Book 2)
The Manchurian prince who is a Shaolin monk, is a very convincing, real persona - a flawed hero. And he is well-matched by his 'barbarian' lover. Thank you Jade Lee, for a deeply engaging read and your vivid portrayal of China's struggle to accept the outside world. I have been reading for approximately 15 yrs.

Will read those the next two weeks and will gladly disclose my findings on my next review! Still , I highly recommend! U will enjoy this book!! All I can say is WOW!!!!!!!!! The female character reminded me of some of my friends.
Spoiled brats who never had to lift a finger but underneath all of their mess beats a good heart. The male character some acted as if he was a chauvinist but from what I have read it was almost true to nature of that area. So I forgave his junk. All in all, it was an excellent book.
Hungry Tigress (The Way of The Tigress, Book 2)
I received a copy of this book from eBook Discovery in exchange for my honest review. I almost didn't download this book because it just didn't stir my interest when I read the blurb. I gave it the benefit of the doubt, though, and I'm so glad I did. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. Want to Read saving….

While I wasn't exactly enthralled with hot anticipation, I was impressed with the change of scenery. Lee has tackled a sub-genre that is quite relative to me, and also very fascinating. This is part of her Tigress series, all set in the exotic locale of China.
This particular novel covers the inter-racial relationship between an upper class American white woman, Joanna Crane, and an aristocratic Manchurian crown prince disguised Jade Lee is now on my "interesting authors to watch out for" list. This particular novel covers the inter-racial relationship between an upper class American white woman, Joanna Crane, and an aristocratic Manchurian crown prince disguised as a Shaolin monk , Kang Zhou Tun.
Summing this up extremely loosely—Joanna, in an attempt to join the Boxer Rebellion out of her naive misplaced sense of justice and liberty, meets trouble with licentious revolutionaries, which is where Zhou Tun comes in. To his disbelief and anger, Joanna quickly discerns that he is Manchurian royalty. Fearful for his cover, he "takes" her to the Tigress Shi Po, where under her strict instruction they learn the way to enlightenment through carnal pleasure whoddathunkit. Lee has taken actual historical figures of the Qing Dynasty such as the Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Shunzi and spun a convincing and entertaining tale weaving them into the narrative to serve the blossoming romance between Zhou Tun and Joanna.
It's clear that Lee is very perceptive of both Western and Eastern sensibilities which I fully appreciate, and which is why the relations between Zhou Tun and Joanna never seem implausible or absurd Taoist euphemisms aside.

It might also be why I don't feel particularly piqued that while much of the imagery is sensual, the feeling isn't nearly enough to match it. There is a level of restraint in the writing, quite deeply laden with metaphor and philosophical ideals, which may be a hit or miss for readers. I hope to see more in the future.
I was really torn when I tried to decide how many stars I'd give this book as it left me shaken, disgusted and I couldn't bring myself to read all of it. To download from the iTunes Store, get iTunes now.
