It's still a decent game, but it could've been better. Version History Version 0. Tidied up those sections as well. Added a sample banlist. Stuff" in the Table of Contents, so I changed it. I already know duelists have a third line they can say if a duel results in a draw, though I thought it was too much trouble to force a draw with Ring of Destruction or Self-Destruct Button. All level 1 duelists are available from the start of the game. Tea Gardner Talk: Are you a duelist? Just to let you know, I'm not bad myself. I'm not gonna be beat that easily! Aside from Yami Yugi, all level 3 duelists are unlocked by winning the Championship once.
Yami Yugi appears randomly once per day by beating any Misc. Duelist in Shadow World. I predicted you were going to show up. And this is going to be my greatest trick! While I escape in peace You'll be cut to pieces! Help me, this isn't a trick! It's the finale to an excellent show! We are the light and the dark! No one can defeat our teamwork! You are as courageous as you are foolish! If you were smart, you wouldn't put your cards at risk! I can't believe you defeated this Deck I created with Yugi! I must start over and reconstruct my Deck before duelling you again! No matter how bad the situation, I never lose hope! For not only do I duel for myself, I duel for my friends! That is what being a true duelist is all about!
Game Overview This section overviews everything you should know prior to starting this game. You can activate Quick-Play spells and traps at various timings. By default, you will be asked if you want to activate your card when an attack is declared, your opponent's turn ends or the timing is right for your card's effect. There are cards that are treated as having the same name as another card.
This is defined as same card name usage. Therefore, you can only have a combined total of 3 Umi and A Legendary Ocean in the deck. Switch between the Main Deck and Side Deck. Make a highlighted deck your active deck. Scroll through the card list. Move cursor to a card. Switch all timings to on. Switch all timings to off. The top-left of the screen shows the day from Sunday to Saturday although there is no calendar to show months, weeks and days.
The top centre-right of the screen displays various messages. You have to wait a bit to see all the messages. You can register for tournaments at the Coliseum or KC Tower. Upcoming tournaments are first announced on Mondays. You must register for a tournament before Saturday if you want to take part. If you register for a tournament, you can't register for another one the same or following week. On the day of a tournament, you just need to exit your house to be able to participate. There are two different types of duels: Single Duels, in which the winner is determined in one duel; and Match Duels, in which the winner is decided in the best of three duels.
In addition, the player that loses any duel can decide the Attack Order of the next. Instead, when a week begins, new cards are selected as that week's Prohibited Cards none allowed , Limited Cards only 1 allowed and Semi-Limited Cards up to 2 allowed. You can have up to 3 of any other type of card in your deck. The in-game banlist isn't tied to any real-life ones, as some cards aren't banned or are less restricted and vice versa. It also falls short of true randomness, as it follows a pattern the same cards are cycled on and off the banlist. The following info is written by LancetJades: They [the banlists] work on a weekly rotation of four total lists, so basically each "month" in-game will see all four, then they repeat.
A small selection of cards are always limited or semi-limited. They never change from the listing they are in: Special Duels and the Limitation Tournament have additional card restrictions. If you construct a deck that conflicts with tournament rules, Mokuba will appear and warn you. Choose 'Reconstruct my Deck' to make the necessary modifications to your deck. You receive DP by winning street duels based on various factors. You also receive DP by winning tournaments. You can enter your house and select 'Rest' to sleep in bed until the next day.
You can use this method to skip days and weeks to a date when a tournament is scheduled. Trophies that you have won from tournaments can be viewed here. Options Check Options to view just that. You can adjust duel settings and languages here. You can use Animation Speed to select one of four animation speeds in duels though there seems to be no difference between them , Activation Timing to manually activate a Quick-Play spell or trap, and Language Selection to choose between 5 languages English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, or Japanese for messages and dialogue.
Edit Deck If you want to construct your deck, select Edit Deck. You will then be able to start putting a deck together. You can manage up to 20 decks. Status Check Status to view just that. Link Duel If you want to duel with a friend, select Link Duel. Player 1 chooses Single Battle or Match Duel, and sets the time limit to None, 10, 20, or 30 minutes. Player 1 selects 'Start Duel! Note that winners do not receive DP and players cannot surrender. Card Trade If you want to trade with a friend, select Card Trade.
Each player selects 'Select a card' and chooses which card to trade. Once both players have chosen a card, you'll be asked if you want to start the trade. Select 'Yes' to begin the procedure. After the trade is completed, choose 'Exit Trading'. Note that you can't trade any of the cards in your deck. Speak with Grandpa to display the Shop Screen.
You can exchange Duelist Points henceforth referred to as 'DP' for new packs. You can buy up to cards at a time and trade DP for boxes containing packs. If you set a Structure Deck to a deck slot, you can immediately use its contents as a deck. Most of this game's packs and decks are on sale here.

The Card Shop re-stocks on Wednesdays and is closed on Tuesdays. If you want to buy a pack, select the pack and choose 'Add Packs. Input the eight digit password located on the bottom left of a card to acquire 1 copy of that card. To make a correction, press L to move the input cursor 1 space left, and R to move it 1 space right. When you're finished, select the "Enter" key to confirm. Each use of the Password Machine costs DP, and each password can only be used to obtain a card once. If a password is entered wrong, your DP will not be refunded, so pay attention when putting it in. If entering a password causes an error message to appear, the password is incorrect or cannot be used in this game.
Yu-Gi-Oh!: Duelist, Vol. 21 : Kazuki Takahashi :
Due to a bug, if you use the Password Machine and turn off your GBA straight afterwards, your spent DP will be gone but you won't have the card you just received when you continue your save file. Make sure you auto-save properly by sleeping, buying cards, etc. This section lists the ones that I know of.
It activates spells and traps every chance it gets. It never activates Snatch Steal. It doesn't activate Cyber-Stein's effect sometimes. It plays Sinister Serpent rather than using it as discard fodder. It activates draw cards such as Graceful Charity even if it has 0 cards remaining in its deck.
If it holds 2 copies of a field spell, it will play both copies rather than keeping one in its hand. It activates Change of Heart to steal one of your monsters and then equips an Equip Spell or more to it, actually helping you in the process if you get back next turn. If you have no monsters on the field, it will always attack, even with a defensive monster such as Banisher of the Light. When you have a Reflect Bounder on the field in attack position, the AI will always attack it if one of its monsters is stronger, even if it would take a lot of LP damage that might cost it the duel.
If your monster has the same ATK as the AI's strongest one, it will never attack yours, even if its other monsters could wipe out your LP. It will use any random card as a discard cost. It always attacks with monsters that have negative effects such as Jirai Gumo. If your non-tribute monsters are in face-down defence position, it will always attack them, even with defensive or flip effect monsters.
This even happens if you just change cards from face-up to face-down position. If you force it to Set monsters on the field via cards such as Morphing Jar 2, it will sometimes leave them in face-down position for a few turns. It will trigger Chain Energy even if the card would cost it the duel. It uses searchers such as Sangan and Mystic Tomato to search for any random monster rather than one that might be useful. If you use a trap destruction card to destroy the AI's face-down Magic Jammer, it will chain it to your card, even though it's pointless.
If it holds 2 copies of Swords of Revealing Light, it will play both copies rather than keeping one in its hand. If you have monsters on your field and attack an AI's face-down Hane- Hane, Penguin Soldier or Man-Eater Bug, the monster that attacked will never be chosen as a target for their effect.
The AI activates Skull Dice even if it triggers a monster destruction trap. Hints and Tips This section lists hints and tips that should give you some assistance in playing this game. If you're having difficulty grinding, I advise dueling Tea Gardner. Tea isn't that hard, as her strategy revolves around maintaining her LP rather than attacking. Volume 3, 5 and X have the best cards of the Volume packs. I'd recommend having a lot of non-tribute monsters to avoid getting an opening hand with only spells, traps and tribute ones.
That way, your strong monsters will be safe from its effect. Note that this strategy doesn't work against Mirror Force and Torrential Tribute, since the Trap Cards can destroy all your monsters instead of just one. If you have fewer cards in your deck, you'll have a better chance of drawing the card you want. I recommend having a balanced ratio of 2: The former Spell Card can prevent your opponent's monsters from attacking for 3 turns. The latter Spell Card can immobilize all monsters on the field with an ATK of 1, or more in exchange for Life Points after every turn. When the latter is activated, select Insect as the Type.
Since all face-up Monster Cards are now treated as Insect-Types, the former prevents your opponent's monsters from attacking. The card can be used in 3 ways: This card returns to the owner's hand during the End Phase, making it difficult to destroy. It can be used in 2 ways: When this card is Flip Summoned, all monsters on your opponent's side of the field are returned to the owner's hand.
Guardian Sphinx can be used to remove monsters and Equip Spells. These monsters can be used as tribute fodder to summon strong ones. Since you must discard 1 card from your hand to do this, I suggest choosing Sinister Serpent, as you can discard it repeatedly to maintain the effect of Tribe-Infecting Virus. Although Gravity Bind prevents all 4-Star or higher monsters from attacking, A Legendary Ocean downgrades all Water-Attribute monsters by 1 Star, so your 4-Star Water monsters will still be able to attack. This effect can be used to acquire handy monsters like Jinzo and Summoned Skull.
Sangan does the same thing for monsters with an ATK of or less such as D. Warrior Lady and Magician of Faith. Fissure and Widespread Ruin do the same thing to 1 monster with the lowest and highest ATK, respectively. This effect can be used to discard a monster to the graveyard and then Special Summon it to the field via resurrection spells like Premature Burial and Monster Reborn. The top class of these monsters have ATK. There are monsters with or greater ATK, but they always have a negative effect. If this card destroys a monster by battle, that monster is removed from play instead of going to the graveyard.
This card can be used in 2 ways: Giant Germ from play to avoid triggering their effects. Some examples of these cards are listed below. That way, you should be able to construct a strong deck more quickly and easily. That way, if you trigger a Torrential Tribute or Mirror Force, you won't lose a lot of monsters.
It works well in decks with stalling cards such as Gravity Bind. Maha Vailo to win a duel or end it in a draw. A few duelists use the card, so watch out. Raigeki Break and still gain 1, LP. Volcano without needing tributes. Walkthrough If you want to begin a new game, select New Game. If you want to continue your save file, select Continue and you'll appear in your house. Check my separate Character Decks Guide for decklists and strategies on the anime duelists.
Grandpa welcomes you and figures that you want to start dueling, so he suggests that you buy a Starter Deck Seto, Yugi or Joey Standard. I advise getting the Seto or Joey Standard. It doesn't really matter, though, as you can always come back for the other decks later. You start with 3, DP. That's enough for a Starter Deck and a few packs. The following packs are available from the start of the game: Volume are unlocked 2 weeks after starting.
Volume 8 is unlocked 3 weeks after starting. After putting a deck together, you're free to move around Battle City and duel as you please. You'll probably have a few banned cards in your deck, so you'll need to remove them from the deck to be able to duel. Your best strategy is simple beatdown with spells and traps as backup for the time being. I advise ignoring the level 1 duelists first, as they are quite challenging at the start of the game when you have more limited cards than usual.
Stick with the Misc. Duelists the ones who have no character expressions for a while, as they only use weak beatdown decks and are a lot easier. When you feel like you're ready, you can fight the level 1 duelists. Duelists are randomly selected as opponents in the Weekend Tournament. You should be strong enough to face them. The Weekend Tournament is available from the start. You should now be strong enough to win it, so go to the Coliseum and talk to the receptionist outside to register for it DP is required.
The prelimary match is a Single Duel against a Misc. You receive DP for winning. You receive this tournament's trophy and DP upon winning. Skipping 2 weeks without registering for a tournament is not required thanks mu for telling me this information. Whatever your choice, I recommend practicing against the anime duelists to prepare for the KC Cup. When you're ready, go to the KC tower and speak with the receptionist in Area KC to register for the tournament. The duels are Match Duels on Saturdays. The opponents you'll face are listed below along with the prize you receive from each of them.
