The sudden wash of grief felt fresh as if it had never left me. The details obviously mattered to Derek. The details haunted him. I wiped away my own tears and slipped off the sofa, crawled to him on hands and knees until I kneeled in front of him where he leaned over, his face in his hands. I threaded myself through his arms, pushing myself up into his embrace.

In an instant, his arms came around me in a panicked clutch, his deep throated sob so filled with misery it took my breath away. As painful as the memories were, it felt good to share my sorrow with him, with this man who obviously felt it as deeply as I did.

Here was someone who understood, who knew the man I had loved. He shook his head where it was buried in my shoulder. It should have been me. The way he sobbed the words, I knew it was a mantra he repeated to himself over and over in his darkest moments. I sat back on my knees and held his face in my hands, wiping the tears away that seemed to flow from an unending stream now that the dam had broken.

You know he would.

Writing about women in combat boots

The hero of the story is Charlie - tall, dark and delectably handsome, and also an expert in the art of pleasing women, especially when in comes to dominance. Our heroine, Angela, is given a choice of men and the various services provided from Limited Partnerships, a company owned by her friend Beth.

When Angie sees Charlie's photo, she is reminded of the long-ago childhood crush she had on him. She wants only him, and wants to try her hand This story is a great example of well written erotica. She wants only him, and wants to try her hand playing a dominatrix. The catch - she doesn't want Charlie to know it's her. You'll have to read the story for yourself to see how this spicy hot romance plays out. I really enjoy this author's use of first-person perspective.

It switches back and forth from Angela's and Charlie's points of view. As a reader, it feels like you have a wonderful glimpse into each characters thoughts and emotions as the story is unfolding around them.



Charlie is one hot character - I just love him!
