City on a Hill (Parables of the Carpenter Book 2)

City on a Hill

While I didn't enjoy this book as much as I did the first book, it was still a great read. While not to be considered a "history" book, it was refreshing to have Jesus' parable expanded and really mad me think past the "bad" and the "good" people in the parable.

Books by Kenny Kemp (Author of I Hated Heaven)

It is beautifully told story of what life was like at the time of Jesus. Although not an historical account, it give additional insight into what th Jews of that time were expecting and what daily life under Roman rule must have been like. Reading this at Christmas time gave me an added message and increased understanding.

City on a hill : parables of the carpenter, Kenny Kemp

Rather than fleshing out the chronology of the Gospels, Kemp imagines a young Christ Jeshua coming of age as a carpenter and living through the parables he. As he did in the first volume, The Welcoming Door , Kemp imaginatively places a young Christ Jeshua in the midst of the parable events that formed the foundation of his later teachings.
