I've always read crime novels and it seemed the natural genre in which to write. Where did you grow up, and how did this influence your writing? In a small town in Lincolnshire, England, and it was a long time ago - quite frightening really. I was a keen reader - if I couldn't find a book I read the back of a cereal packet. But I was lucky that my father was also a keen reader and had lots of books.

Jun 21, Louise Roach rated it it was amazing Shelves: This was an absolutely brilliant read and one I thoroughly enjoyed I actually read this after reading book 2, and it didn't affect anything for me personally, as the books are written brilliantly as complete standalones, even though there are obvious connections between the books and the characters. Having read book 2 already, just made me even more excited to get my hands on this one and finally dive into Amelia and Marcus' story.

In this book we meet Amelia, who is the assistant manager of The Grand, a seven star hotel on the Cornish Coast. She lives for work, and throws herself into her job, whilst also finding time to have fun with her best friend Amelia - these two must have shares in Tequila!! Amelia is sworn off relationships, and as we read the book we get a clear understanding of why and the reasoning's behind her low self-esteem, and lack of confidence at times.

Having said that, although Amelia is full of fears and insecurities, she actually on the whole copes extremely well, and is filled with an element of strength and determination. The support she gets from Megan and Lucas plays a huge part in that. When Marcus is thrown into her life, the connection between them is undeniable.

But with neither of them looking for anything close to a relationship, where will things go? Can they move past both of their fears and pasts, especially if those come back to haunt them? The connection between the characters was superb, with off the charts chemistry and some wonderful hot and steamy moments! The story line itself is extremely moving and gave me all the feels. It was incredibly emotional and rather heart-breaking at times, with some moving images of Amelia's past. Marcus himself is not without his own hurts, and this story did a great job of revealing everything, keeping things moving at a good pace.

For me things slowed down a little midway, but not necessarily in a bad way, and soon picked up again. Wow, there was some brilliant action, revelations and some real suspense which kept the pages turning and wanting to find out exactly what would happen. They have such a wonderful connection and friendship which has stemmed from years of support for one another.

Along with Megan's brother Lucas there are some superb secondary characters. And I can't not mention Rosa, Marcus' Mum - she is an absolutely brilliant woman, bringing a lot of humour and sensible reasoning to the story! With laugh out loud moments, emotion, heat, passion, friendships, romance, twists and turns, lies and betrayals I would highly recommend to all, and will definitely be adding this one to my paperback bookshelf Jul 06, Iwona rated it it was amazing.

I was so captivated by this book. I kept thinking is it gonna end so I hope not! I was so glad it was the length it was. You know when you read a book and you wish die it ended too soon well don't get me wrong I would still love more of this story but it was perfect for me. This story does it a very sensitive subject so be ready or don't read if you can't handle.

Many people can't handle write or persue exposure to this issue. It was very brace and I applause her for this. So here we h Loved it!

So here we have Amelia who has been through so much in her life do far. It's been so unfair. She has the greatest best friend in the world, Megan. Along with her brother Lucas they are all she has left to be here for. Along comes Marcus who feels this automatic attraction, need to protect and care for her. She behind to consume his life. He needed to relax from his broken life so these feelings have thrown him completely into a Can he show her life is worth it?

Well, I'll just say that maybe he can do it while showing his own heart the same without realizing it. It really is a great love story. I couldn't put it down!!!

Other Books in This Series

No cliffhanger and it technically had no cheating and a HEA. I read this book voluntarily for and honest review but would totally buy fir my collection. I can't wait to read more from this author. The characters and story development were perfectly done. This book was extremely well written and has fast become of my favourite series of all time. I will definitely want to one click future releases from this author. This book was full of many twists and turns that will keep you guessing what is going to happen till the very end. I have the feeling that I am going to be seeing some special works coming from this author. I could not wait to get to the end so I d What an absolutely awesome book. The storyline was done really well and was believable. It kept me gripped from the very start until the end, so much so I took the book everywhere with me in order to finish it. I adore this book and cannot wait to read other works from this amazing author. I will definitely be recommending this author to everyone I know. May 12, Josephine rated it it was amazing. Wow is the best word I can come up with for this book. The story between Marcus and Amelia is what live should be. Patient, caring, and all consuming. Marcus is a good man and gives Amrlia just what she needs to heal from the abuse that she had to endure.

I did want to smack him near the end but he redeemed himself. This book may have some triggers for some. But it is very worth the read. It is the first book by this author I have read but will not be the last.
