You get to know the bad guys up front and what they did so the story is about the journey of Zara finding out and how to stop any future horrors happening. Throw in some supernatural and you have a fast paced, race against time thriller. It didn't take long, I read it in a working day. Some of the plot line is not for the faint hearted, it is quite sensitive. The bad guy truly is a bad guy. There are others involved where we're asked as a reader to maybe forgive them becau I really enjoyed this. This bit didn't sit well. I'm probably just not that forgiving!

The Space Within the Silence

Whether you buy into that bit or not really will be decided on your own personal feelings. I enjoyed the supernatural angle, I think it worked quite well within the story and gave it an extra edge. It has themes about family, betrayal, and imprints of departed souls.

Good weather and a craving for thrillers led me to race through the story yesterday.
