Three aircraft were selected for pressure testing to determine what was going wrong. The destruction of the first two was all that was needed to figure it out: The museum houses the only Comet with the square windows -- all others were refitted with round windows and put back into service. The adjacent hanger has mostly older aircraft, like Tiger Moth biplanes, a gyrocopter, even the first-ever drone. Behind this hangar, passenger aircraft like the Heron, the DH business jet, and even the body of a regional passenger jet, a BAe , all sit waiting for you to explore.



Though not huge, the de Havilland Museum has an excellent collection of aircraft, and it was especially fascinating to see the square-windowed Comet, up close, inside and out. Even better was how knowledgeable and friendly the volunteers were, willing to answer any and all questions I had about the various aircraft.
