Dear Paris
1. Eiffel Tower
Le Pavillon, Amelie and Malar. We checked them all, except the fourth one which is located in Monmartre. They are not like the usual luxury properties that I often get to feature on The Viennese Girl blog. You go to Paris to see the city, walk around and explore. You might also want to save some bucks from accomodation to invest on shopping in the french boutiques or on culinary experiences.
At Le Pavillon we had a maisonette with a winding staircase that led from the living room to the bedroom. I recommend that you check out the white maisonette, and if you have children, look for a colourful room. I also recommend that you check the vision of the hotel which I personally found very interesting. We met so many people who work in the 7th arrondisement and it felt more like we were home.
Dear Paris, just wait for me…we are going to meet
If we forget that my French cell phone got lost probably stolen somewhere in Monmartre , everything else went just fine. Every night on the way back to the hotel, we had the best view that anyone can have in Paris , again thanks to the amazing location of the Green Spirit Hotels. Oh yes, here on The Viennese Girl blog, we die for little glitter and glamour, why should we hide it anyway?
And all those things together always remind me the reason why I started this blog: It was raining cats and dogs the moment we stepped in at The Peninsula for our afternoon tea. Perfect timing to be somewhere indoors.
Polina and I hunkered down in the armchair and indulged in delicious finger sandwiches and pastries. While sipping tea and savouring scones served with cream and jams, we took those photos. At the same time, we tried to be as discreet as possible not to disturb other people in Le Lobby , although it was quite difficult to hide our enthusiasm. The luxurious setting at Le Lobby , impeccable service, live music of the chamber orchestra, delicious pastries and two glasses of champagne, everything made a wonderful way to spend an afternoon in Paris.

Believe it or not, the organizational part before the PFW is a big production. For that reason, I called my friend Polina in Athens to see what her intentions were, since we spent the previous fashion week in Paris together, and we could make a decision this time together again. It made me change my mind immediately!

I was kind of flattered, to say the least, that I was invited by such a huge renowned French Jeweler and Watchmaker to visit Paris for the Press day. I had a Rendezvous avec Cartier. I stayed the whole week, but more of that on next photo blog posts. The event took place at Hotel Pourtales. My focus was rather on the collections, to see and try out some of my favourite pieces of which you can see here , the Cactus de Cartier for instance, which reminds me of my days in Morocco , and meeting new people.

- dear paris.
I hope I will finish my work before Sunday night, because the next departure is on Monday morning. It feels like Paris and I have become much closer over the years. Just this past year alone, I have visited the city three times. If you want to see the articles and photos from my previous visits, you can find them here and my photos from my visit during the summer here.
So, right after I came back from Marrakesh, I packed another luggage and left for Paris for one week. I have to admit, I was quite lucky with the weather. It rained a little bit during the first two days, but after that the weather was perfect and not cold at all. One trench coat or something light was all I needed, and I was off to take some pictures around the city.

Dear Paris
I wish you good luck. Many thanks to Hilton Paris Opera for the great hospitality. After a hectic week with 3 deadlines, I finished my tasks and hopped on a flight to Paris for a press trip organized by the official tourism board of France. Since I know the city so well, I could spontaneously decide where I wanted to go and what I was up to next. I spent a lot of time walking from one arrondissement to another because walking makes me feel good and it would have been a pity to spend time underground in the metro since the weather was so nice.
And as I write this, I am asking myself: Do Parisians enjoy all this beauty around them, or do they take it for granted? One thing that also helped me very much, which you might want to consider getting for your trips as well, is a SIM card that I bought from Orange.
I had a French number and internet everywhere, which helps a lot especially if you have one meeting after another. I downloaded the app citymapper and used it mainly for directions on how to get from one point to another by metro. That made the whole experience of getting around a big city as easy as it can be.
The photos above were taken at Ralph Lauren restaurant , in the streets of Paris while I was doing window shopping, at Angelina tea house and at Ritz Hotel. Loved all your photos Lady: I have loved you ever since I was 10 - the first time I ever laid my eyes on you. I was too young to know where you are exactly or how many miles you are from my little town.
2. The Louvre
But, I promised myself that one day, I will be staring at your famed Iron Lady not just in my world atlas book but in real life. I loved you more when I turned 18, when I embraced the fact that I'm a hopeless romantic and then I came to know that you are the most romantic city in the whole world. I loved you even more when I was 25, when I set foot in the Middle East and realized that you are halfway closer.
And I loved you the most when I turned 34, when I finally got to fulfill my long time wish of being IN you. I love your beauty in sunrise I love your chilly autumn breeze I love walking in your charming streets Your public transportation system is crazy, but I learned to love it eventually. I love your cheap street food I love your people Your museums are overwhelming for my non-artsy self, but I love how you slowly opened my eyes to your art and culture.
I love your Gothic-style architecture I love your thrills I love your Seine River I love your Eiffel Tower Je t'aime , Paris! You are just what I imagined you to be Don't change because you are perfect!
