Pants on Fire is a completely unique podcast for kids with a mission like no other. In the era of fake news, we want to help kids to think critically about what they're told and how the "truth" is presented to them.
Pants on Fire
Hilarious and fast-paced, the show encourages kids to ask insightful questions, weigh the evidence before them, and that sometimes they have to trust their gut. Oh, and there's a sound-effects robot named L. Live In-Studio Audience whose relationships with reality is a little glitchy. In less than a year, Pants on Fire has build a loyal following, and received praise everywhere from Time for Kids to The Guardian , and is currently up for an iHeart Radio award. Every week, we pick a topic and bring in two grown-ups who claim to be experts.
One is legit, one is a liar, and then our kid contestant has to ask probing questions to figure out which is which. Our topics have run the gamut, including photography, bats, and detective work.
'Liar! Liar! Pants on Fire!'
Kids learn about the topic, but also learn about how to get at the truth. In our first year, we produced nearly 50 episodes, and we have been blown away by the response. We've had a blast making such a ridiculous show with such an important mission. We're asking for help from our listeners and anyone who believes as strongly as we do in that mission.
This Kickstarter will help us continue to produce Pants on Fire episodes every month, and the higher we climb past our goal, the more episodes we'll be able to make. Gen-Z Media makes awesome podcasts for kids, and our shows have won major awards like the Peabody and garnered praise from nearly every major news outlet.
We've heard from parents who listen with their kids on the way to school, around the breakfast table, and most hearteningly, during difficult times of loss.
'Liar! Liar! Pants on Fire!'
We love making these shows, and we love hearing from kids who love those shows, which is why we've structured our rewards to be as interactive as possible with kids. Questions about this project?
