Unfortunately Dino was recognized and Hudson has to bring him in. This turned out to be the last western film for both Dean Martin and Rock Hudson. Martin, starting with Rio Bravo in , did a whole string of westerns of varying quality. But making them is hard work, a fact Dean discovered one day out in the desert heat making these films. The rest of his movies were done in modern dress. Also for some reason two of the most agreeable stars to work with as attested to by numerous co-stars of both did not get along during the making of Showdown. Yet this Damon and Pythias story is still good entertainment and nothing either Rock or Dean had any reason to be ashamed of.

Elmo Freech is a private investigator and was contracted by John Portland, a CIA agent who suffers amnesia, in oder to reveale a dubious case of drug smuggling in which are involved big Somewhere in the future the environmental overkill had come. Many people had died. The rich were able to build the underworld, the poor had to stay on the surface building gangs to survive Ken has just moved from Kansas with his mother. He talks to a girl named Julie, not knowing that her boyfriend Tom is very possessive of her. Tom is learning karate from Lee, a sensei whose brother was killed by a rookie cop named Billy.

Billy has since then become the janitor of the school that Ken, Julie and Tom go to. When Ken gets beaten up by Tom for talking to Julie again, Billy helps Ken by teaching him how to defend himself, which eventually leads to a battle between student vs. I have to agree with most of the comments in here. That being said, i've had this film on my shelves since and might have watched it more than 10 times. Well, i guess every critics has got something different out of it. And that's a quality right there. For being a big Billy Blanks fan and a HUGE martial arts fan, there was disappointingly less fights and even less good choreography.

But still i've been seeing it again and again. To be totally blunt. The story is entertaining from beginning to end and the most characters are actually likable.

And the characters who aren't are actually quite good Especially Ken McLeod as the asshole boyfriend Tom is terrific. I just can't get tired of that song and it's been driving me insane that it's impossible to find either the band that has performed it or the soundtrack anywhere!!!
